He believes such changes are not promoted due to the influence of Big Pharma.
You could promote lifestyle changes all you want. Make commercials, have your cardiologist talk to you about diet and exercise for 5 minutes each visit, hand out free gym memberships, but you cannot give certain people the willpower and motivation to eat a healthy diet and to get off their ass and move on a consistent basis.
I agree with you that diet and exercise, consistently over years and years, will do more for your health than most pills. I think people already know this and promoting it won't change their habits. That is not a problem the health care industry can solve.
