There are a million examples of sports teams only recognizing their affiliates/ farm clubs, etc.

The key word there is "Teams".  Of course, you don't want your NFL QB playing overseas in the offseason and getting hurt- It hurts the teams chances, and he is being paid to be on the team.

But in individual sports, competitors are usually free to compete as they please.  If Tiger Woods wants to play putt-putt in Saudi Arabia, he can.  If Serena Williams wants to play doubles in a Mickey mouse Tourney in Hong Kong for $2M appearance fee, she is free to.

In the individual sport of BBing, there are not salaries.  You do not let a team down by getting hurt or doing something else that day.  BBers should be able to make a living by competing anywhere they want, as long as the IFBB isn't putitng food on their table.

There is a law that states you cannot hinder a person from earning a living in their chosen profession. I think by monpolizing the funnel system, the ifbb dos exactly that. I know of many instances(including my own personal experience) where a bodybuilder did not get a fair shake, due to personality conflicts on one level or another.

Jack-

There are a million examples of sports teams only recognizing their affiliates/ farm clubs, etc.

MLB only recognizes the farm teams they're associated with, Boxing only recognizes their own rankings, not the ones from other federations... Ralph's doesn't recognize coupons from Albertsons, Verizon doesn't recognize Sprint.....etc, etc.  They're different companies.

Why would the IFBB, who has a affiliation with the NPC as their amateur org., recognize some other group?

Not to sure about this one.  MLB teams get there players from many many sources.  You can play pro baseball without having to go throught the farm system.  High school, college, mexican leagues and many other leagues are used to pool players into the MLB. If a scout sees a kid throwing 100mph and hitting balls 400' in his backyard, that kid is going to sign.  Boxing does to, in fact they unify their belts.  Thats is why one guy can have several belts from several different organiztions.  And allot of markets accept coupons from other markets.  IN fact some offer a 2 times coupon values from other stores.  And now cell phones companies are lettng people keep their cell numbers even if the swtich companies.

The IFBB is defintiey the "major league" in Bodybuilding and should get their competitors from as many sources as possible.  As long as the person can qualify to be on the stage with other IFBB prs then why not.  Also, the IFBB not allowing their own members comepte in another organization especially when they di not employ or pay the members on a regualr basis is wrong.  Each person should be able to do what they want to make money.

There are a few things working against the IFBB that did not exist until recent times.

1) People know more, in general, about the IFBB's shady business practices today than 10 years ago

2) The internet allows concerned individuals to communicate with one another on an almost instant basis, giving them the ability to put similar ideas in one place

3) forums like these enable concerned individuals to put IFBB promoters, officials, and judges on the spot...and eventually, they will have to answer

4) people are smarter than they used to be - they know understand that the IFBB isn't really the ticket to anything...and that they can make a lot more money building their own enterprises, etc

I hope the PDI plays it straight from day one.

If they don't there will be many people there to point it out.  With that many eyes on him, I think Wayne won't have a choice but to be on his best behavior.
