The images, provided to The Post by law enforcement sources, show the suspect, who has yet to be identified, holding a long handgun as he fired at Brian Thompson, 50, on Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel on 54th and 6th Ave.

The suspect fired multiple times from a distance, police said, before fleeing through the Ziegfeld alleyway and hopping on a bike.

Given that a) medical bills are the leading cause of bankruptcy in the US and b) there are 1.2 guns for every US citizen, I’m surprised this hasn’t happened more often.

I read the headline on a financial news site and thought: Ah, the usual NYC crime insanity. But it seems a deliberate assassination.
Agree that it's suprising it does not happen more often.

Imagine the families who lost a son or parent due to Boeings extreme cost cutting making 737 Max's crash. That the Boeing execs who are responsible are still alive is baffling to me

CEOs and CFOs of chemical companies poisoning entire rivers and communities, they always get away with it

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a coat, black face mask, and black and white sneakers.
Officials said he was carrying a gray backpack.

I don’t know who he is or if he’s a bad guy, but is there a chance this is a watershed moment for things like this? Will he be looked back on like a Franz Ferdinand, that something bigger happened as a result?

^ Latest on twitter. I listened to the press conference, seems their biggest leads are/were the Citybike and the backpack. They lost him in Central Park. My guess is the backpack had a change of clothes, he dipped into the park, changed, then left.

Killing a CEO isn't going to stop it, that's for sure. Maybe a full-on revolution. If this shit keeps up a day will come when that happens.

It's fucked up. I have a friend who worked for Bayer for years. He tells me the same prescription drugs are sold much cheaper in other countries.

Didn't we have some bill 15 years or so ago that would allow generic drugs to be sold in the US and it got voted down?

Very true, you can buy legit pharma meds in many countries for 10% of what they cost here, or even less.

The big pharma and oil companies line the pockets of our politicians.

Nothing will change anytime soon. It's a huge racket.

I agree, it's like the number of guns in this country isn't what the determining factor is, it's the people.

It's not like we have guns just flying around in space murdering people.

With how easy it is to obtain a firearm; you would think there would be much more violence.

At least if you understand statistics.
