I've been a lawyer  - admitted and practicing - for 26 years.   Mr. French Toast can pipe up once he passes the bar exam in 4 years from now, thats' if he makes it past this week.

He’s getting paid and taking a loan but his net cost is $12k? For being a CFA he should be better at math but he’s never worked as a CFA……

One of the key components of the student loan forgiveness Hankins is forgetting is that you have to make 120 payments while employed with the state, 10 years of gainful employment. LOL

Seriously lol at the idea of him keeping a job 10 years.

As a Certified Financial Analyst he was moving appliances for Home Depot, as a Lawyer maybe he will be mowing lawns for the city?

Also the student loan forgiveness program is on hiatus. It might not be in 5 years but he should know this.

My scholarship and loan info is below. The federal government is giving me 12k a year in addition to covering the shortfall of my 30k annual merit scholarship.
My out-of-pocket cost is negative 12k. 30k in scholarship 32k in loans tuition is only 50k The government is giving me 12k a year for expenses they are buying my food and gear for the next 4 years. If I get a government job it gets forgiven. If I don't get any job I don't pay and they can not come after my assets. If I get a non-government job I make plenty of money to pay it back. 
I want to go into bankruptcy Law, taxes, estate and trust. My CFA designation will go well with that. I should be very marketable when I graduate. But regardless if anyone hires me or not I can practice law on my own. I can just sign up for the court appointed list that pays 65 an hour in NC.  Be mad.”
