This will help keep blood sugars closer to normal and limit the damage high blood sugars can cause to nerves. Exercise will have the added benefit of keeping muscles that may be weakened by decreasing nerve activity to remain strong and toned. Dr. Hare says he finds that patients with painful neuropathy say the pain seems less severe if they get some simple exercise regularly.
