put little weights on ur toes and extend them as far as you can

Deadlifts from the ground....over squats, because really, we're talking about ONE exercise that will affect the way you look....bodybuilding, right?  Can't be just squats cause you'll have great legs, lower back, but not much else over time.  Deads will hit the thighs as well as the overall back, shoulders and arms indirectly, forearms.....for that reason, deadlifts are the ultimate 'one' lift....for BODYBUILDING.

Clean and jerk is great for upper body....CRAP.....now come to think of it, if you clean, jerk and press the thing then THAT would have to be the ultimate bodybuilding move.....hits everything! 

Hmmmm.....Cleans with a pressing movement win....I think!  Since I'd never do just one, that's my choice.

if i could only do one it would be pulldowns

  knowing you,you probably would. ::) It has to be the squat or deadlift..maybe a clean and jerk.

candidate have you ever done "real" squats or deads  consistantly for any period of time? If you do them right NOTHING will make your overall strength and size increase more than the basic,heavy compound movements.

1.  Squats.

2.  Deadlifts.

Totally agree, squats, nuts to the floor, and deadlifts from the floor(unless you have back problems then in a power rack.

I think power rack deads increase the risk of back problems....i just don't like the feeling of pulling weight from that partial position.

Squats deep and controlled exhaust the whole body and IMO are the BEST 8)

Agreed but your body can take more sets of squats relatively easier then deadlifts because it mainly focuses on your biggest group of muscles (the quads and hamstrings/Glutes).
