I deal daily with people who need to loose weight. Most of them hold off eating till later in the day, their first mistake. Then I usually hear "I stop at the donut shop and get a coffee with 2 doughnuts around 11 and that's it till dinner". They don't realize that their body's are in a starvation mode and will give up muscle and store fat to keep from starving. When I try to explain that to get lean they must eat small, nutritious meals every 4 hours, they think I'm nuts till they try it. I've had people loose up to 12 lbs. in a week. They can't believe how easy it is when you get started and just clean up their diet a little at a time. When I see them, scale and callipers, they can't lie. It's mostly educating them on how to put together meals and always plan for tomorrow. In 4 years at this location, I have about a 90% success rate with dieters. The only ones that fail are the "smart ones" who put together their own diet using what I gave them as a guideline, which never works. I love fat people. They make us, in shape people look so much better and when they come to me the fatter they are the more they need me. In reality they don't, but sshhhhhh....keep em comming. Common sense and a good mirror are the best tools for getting in shape their are.
