Which condition was better on FLEX WHEELER - '92 USA or '93 ARNOLD CLASSIC?

Flex 93 AC was unreal.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again:

Flex 93

Ray 94 or 96

Ronnie 99

are the three best phyisques in history and are all virtually unbeatable, but all have flaws  (flex, ray - lat width and back thickness, Ronnie -abs and calves).

No one is perfect, but these three are unbeatable onstage even WITH their flaws...

I love reading about flex or looking at pics. definatly one of my fav's of all time. He should have his own columb in MD, he does alot for the mag but it'd be cool to read about questions sent to him and his answers.

get real? I think not. Just because shawn was shorter than some does not mean he was any less than amazing from most angles...

Don't take this the wrong way, but that sounds silly for you to say considering to this day Arnold is still promoting bodybuilding through his anuual Arnold Classic. If it was to 'hurt his political image', I would think he'd jump ship the moment he took office, yet every year he is still at Columbus, Ohio. And if anything was to hurt his image it wouldn't be UPN footage of his show, but those Japanese commercials. 

True, true. But I think if Arnold put out the DVD's of the Arnold Classic someone  might say he is promoting drug use too much. One contest is enough. But to have thousands of copies of Multiple Arnold Classics featured huge steriodal men, that might be too much for his conservative agenda. That is my guess, maybe I'm grasping at straws.

I emailed his website (his PR people) a year ago about when or if he was going to release his Arnold Classic contests on DVD, no answer yet.

Sorry, that just doesn't impress me. If you think Shawn is that great, watch the 96 BFTO, you will see Ronnie is better than Ray even in 96. Oh and also, after watching Olympia 98, 99, and BFTO 96, Ronnie was MORE ripped, and better conditioned 7 days out in 96. THe difference in conditioning on the stage between 96 and 99 was that Ronnie didnt know how to come into a show back then, that's where Chad helped him out.

I didn't necessarily say that Shawn was better than Ronnie, since we all know Ronnie 99 was probably better than anyone (even Flex 93 by virtue of the wide and thicker back) but I think those shots show that Shawn 94 or 96 had a level of quality that has ONLY been seen on Ronnie and Flex. No one else. No one else had the muscular shape.  Not dorian. Not Jay. Not anyone. Haney came close, but lacked the freaky detail of Ronnie, Flex and Shawn.

true. right before the 99 olympia he gave an interview to Flex magazine talking about how his 98 AC shape was his best ever and if he can regain that shape he will beat Ronnie.

Problem is, as we all know, 98 and beyond were suspicious years for Flex in terms of oil/synthol.

That is probably why 93 is regarded over 98 as his best shape ever: no oil.

Me too. I love Flex Wheeler! Anyway.... you must never had read Muscular Development back in the day because for some time Flex indeed have his own column [Q&A style] which turned into ReFLEXtions [his personal stories] which turned into.... POOF.... nothing. 

I wish they'd give Flex his column again.

Anyway, I've met Ronnie several times and let me tell you.... he is a great, down-to-earth kinda guy. If and when you do meet him, you won't be disappointed.
