I'm a true believer in rest and letting everything heal as best as possible so i only train with wieghts 4 days a week.

on the weekends i might play basketball or do some swimming out in the sun...

to answer your question i don't think it's a good idea to train hard with weights more than 5 days a week but doing "something" like cardio or just any physical activity probably won't hinder gains too much, if at all.

my problem is if i'm too physical during the week my shoulders and knees start to ache, that is one reason why i usually never do anything physical on sunday or wendsday, i just let everything rest. if i'm cutting weight i'll do some light cardio on those days.

Bump- the best gains I got was from training 3-4 days per week- short hour long intense workouts- that all you need- let your body rest to get the best growth possible- not smart to train everyday unless your hitting a diffent bodypart everyday- even then its a waste of time- you can get everything trained in just 3-4 sessions per week-

I see absolutely no pattern of progress here.

  6'2, 160 at 7-8% bf

6'2, and a shredded (lol) 170lbs.

6'2, 160lbs and about 8%.....goals are to buiild as much lean mass as possible.......

I am only 165lbs at 6'2....

I am trying to put on lean mass....stay as lean as possible, but gain some mass.....alot of mass, hell I'm 6'1 and about 165....wet......but 7-8% bf

and I am up 12lbs in 4 weeks..

Get it thru your head that you need to eat your ass off.  No special written diets no weighing of food just eating till you are full and then a little more.  No damn oats, no low fat.  I would eat lots of triple cheese burgers, chilli, big ass burritos if I was you, pasta, potatos, more beef.

I bet you were a "picky eater" as a kid.  4 days a week of training should be plenty, big basic excersises.  An NO cardio!! its the last thing you need.  After you put on 50 lbs then we will start to consider the cardio again.

Im also guessing Lugar that you suffer from high anxiety, this will burn calories like you would not believe.  Relax! I can feel the anxitey in your writing.  Eat more train less!  You see THIS IS THE WAY you seek.  You just have to able to accept it.

Please do not post another diet.  And no crying about loss of definition, do you thing concentration camp lean is a good look?  Cause it sounds like thats where you are now.  If you wanna change that then heed the advice.

Your either bulking or you are cutting
first of many mistakes - too many conflicting
aspects of approach to diet and training.

Lugar, You have got to build a decent base
before you even think of cutting, at your
height and weight (I am sorry to say)
you are too skinny to worry about cutting
you will loose too much muscle in the
process . . .

You have got to build a wall
before you paint it . . .
Read: bulk and then cut . . .

Hire a personal trainer and get specific
direction - way beyond the scope of
what we are capable of here.

Uncertain * adgenda . . .

he tells a little - gets defensive
and asks and post the same thing
more damn diet stuff, blah, blah, blah.

I don't want to be a dick but (poor Lugar)
insults the rest of us, by NOT being
straight-up about his real issues
or disease that IS effecting
(him &) the rest of us.

6'2" 160+ lbs IS s k i n n y as a rail
NOT healthy (as a BB) - sorry ripped or not.
You sound like classic overtraining to me . . .

I am tired of saying the same damn thing . . .
NO cardio dammit! Increase dietary caloric density!
Intervals of r e s t between (effective) work-outs!
F!!CK the bodyfat percentages and margins!
Grow some GD muscle - t h e n diet to shape
the whole physique . . .

And F'ing fess-up about what IS ailing him
in order for us to guide him effectively.
We ARE here to help, not judge others...

NOW I AM STEPPING AWAY
FROM THE KEYBOARD . . .

scrawny I know...just need help in breaking the fear of abs loss...

you lose the sight of your abs every time you get dressed in the morning......do you freak out everytime you put a shirt on?

so why would you care if you gained a little "weight" to put on some mass?

simple question: do you want abs, or do you want mass then abs?

Stop spending so much time planning your diet and measuring food and just start eating. Make sure your protein intakeis high and just stuff your face. after a couplemonths you can start making adjustments and measuring oz of pre-cooked chicken.
