The Irish Sun reports that Real IRA leaders have now turned their attention to Ryan’s killers who are believed to have fled Dublin after the killing.
One Real IRA boss told the paper: “It won’t be the police dealing with this, it will be us. Now the funeral’s over it is payback time.

The brits kicked the Irish out of their country and tried to elliminate them all but they got a fight they were not expecting. The Irish have for a long time 2 honourable ways to die, 1, in war defending their land and 2, through being scholors who would keep the history books from being erased from record as to show the true story, the Brits have a history of conveniently omitting certain things.

I'm not exactly old at 33, but i have faint memories of bombings down south as a kid and I found it strange there was such panic over the likes of al qaeda when the UK (well England mainly i guess) had experienced so many bombings in recent times from the ira.

It was politics and religion that caused this in recent times. Overt and blatant Catholic oppression, Internment, Collusion, State Murder blatant acts of murder from the Brit Govt (Bloody Sunday, Ballymurphy Murders, Milltown Cemetery etc) that garnered support for groups. When at Primary School we used to literally send bus loads of food, clothes and shoes to Romania every single year.

Stark, I have to disagree to some extent. I don't think it's as straight forward as where you were born. Being born in Germany doesn't automatically make you German for example. You would have to live in Germany and learn the culture to some extent before you could call yourself a German, IMHO. It has more to do with where your parents hail from and what they teach you as a child about your roots, etc.

never said it was but the army has changed a lot. When i left in late 94 it was clear the loyalty was not the same. We had young guys taking drugs and they started drug testing. I remember me and another scot had to pick up a druggie Scouse waster from Düsseldorf Airport. Had to pick him up in civilian clothes and we had a civilian car and driver. We sat this waster in the middle and told him to be a good boy. He was on an opertational tour and was a Radio Op in an Ops room..they caught him stoned out his mind smoking weed. not really funny because he put peoples lives at risk. I remember when i did my Basic training in 1985 they drummed into you to look after each others backs...on the streets on patrol or in a bar fight...this has sadly gone ... apart from some Infantry Battalions it´s gone.
