Wash your hands with alcohol and wipe the machines down before and after use... You should already be doing this. If so then there is no risk from machines.

These viruses don't survive long outside the body.

Army Of One says they survive 9 days.

Army Of One says they survive 9 days.

Sorry I should of said that the degree of infection from surfaces is not great after a short time.

I read the 9 day study, that study is a summary of 22 other studies 9 days is the "up to" figure from the coronavirus family it assumes optimal surface, temp humidity conditions etc. whilst it's possible that the virus can survive days on a surface transmission gets less and less likely.

none of this matters if you wipe surfaces down with alcohol as this deactivates the virus.

No, it’s stupid and people are panicking over little. I have over 150 HS students per day if I’m going to get anything cold or flu related it would be there. Even if I (or anyone else) did, take some NyQuil stay home for a day or two then get on with your life.

7.8bil on this earth and 3000 deaths mostly in other countries and even that is mostly with the elderly and people with compromised immune system. If they caught just about anything they’d be in trouble.

Again...it’s fucking stupid

You have a bigger chance of a staph infection in a hospital than you do dying of a fucking beer virus

When you use a public restroom, touch all the toilets and dip your hands in the urinals, don't wash, and touch the faucets and door handles.

Then lick your fingers and rub your nose.

Show you're not afraid.

Concentrate on correct breathing while you exercise and it will benefit your lungs as well as your overall good health. But, you already know this. My oxygen levels shoot up when I work out and remember to breathe properly. Otherwise, most of the day I forget all about the benefits of deep breathing. It is also a great way to get into a meditative state of mind.

100% agree. I am finishing out the week at work but moving forward I will also be working from home.

Some play are unwilling to sacrifice immediate satisfaction and go through their daily routines as if nothing is happening but you nailed it.  I rather not be laid out now for being an idiot and trying to be in a crowded place VS taking 2-3 months and let this shit settle down a bit and be able to enjoy life normally.

I blame the gym and partially my part time job dealing with a UN variety of people.  Today at the gym two guys were coughing their heads off. Going to train at home tomorrow.

Yesterday the gym I train at had about the same number of people. One person was wearing a mask. Does this mean he is sick or he doesn't want to get sick? Hard to tell.

Since the coronavirus is negatively affected by heat. Would spending time in the sauna kill it?

I continue to wonder if contracting the coronavirus as a healthy person is a good idea rather than risk getting it sometime down the road when you aren't as healthy. The comparison being the chicken pox which are much less serious for juveniles than for and adult.

There is a yet unanswered question as to whether you can catch the virus twice.

“If you get an infection, your immune system is revved up against that virus,” Keiji Fukuda, director of Hong Kong University’s School of Public Health, told the Los Angeles Times. “To get reinfected again when you’re in that situation would be quite unusual unless your immune system was not functioning right.”

Seems to me the most important thing is to know if you have the virus. If you do, it is only right that you quarantine yourself to avoid giving it to other people, specially those who are likely to be sicker or even die from it. If you any symptoms of the coronavirus, get tested asap.

Much is being done to try to stop the spread of the virus in Oregon. It was just announced that schools will be closed in Oregon. Venues that gather 250 people or more in close quarters are cancelled. Sports events are cancelled. At this point the number of presumed cases in Oregon is very low. But our neighboring state of Washington has a fair number active and presumed cases, as well as deaths which are related to age and compromised health.

I am toying with the idea of discontinuing gym visits until after things settle down. But, I am not convinced that it is absolutely necessary. I'm a fatalist. If I'm going to catch the virus, I will. There's no escaping it. For now, I will avoid confined spaces where a fair number of people gather, such as a bar or nightclub.

The last time I tried to kill myself was when I was a teenager. If I said such a thing in 2019, I was kidding. I don't own or ride a moped. Can't bench press worth shit. Vision with prescription glasses is 20/20. Not yet 80. Give me 4.5 more years. I'm probably healthier than you are. Went out for a drink last night. The bar had maybe 20 people there. Had one drink and left. I don't go to nightclubs. Gave that up years ago. Whether or not I am soggy, is a matter of opinion. I can sometimes be silly....my sense of humor is intact.

You are right about one thing. I don't actually know that I am healthier than you are. What I do know is that I am exceptionally healthy, which my doctor confirms each year when I have a physical. He said, "You are healthier than most of my 30 year old patients." Maybe I'm just being hopeful, but I take what he says as a positive comment about my health. Dementia is not something which runs in my family.

You can be re-infected with this virus again.  Getting it now won't give you any immunity to a future Covid mutation.

Best to avoid it if possible. Hopefully they will have a vaccination for next season.

I'm not saying this isn't the case, but I've not read anything to support this theory. What is your source? Since the coronavirus is so new and not well understood, how would anyone know whether you can be reinfected in the future, other than that with other flu viruses people do catch catch them again. Hence getting a flu shot to help control this. So far as we know right now, there is no shot to protect us from reinfections from a mutated coronavirus.

Nothing has changed for me.

The gyms I belong to did send out a lists of things being done to keep the gyms clean and asked everyone to wipe equipment before and after use.  They also have those motion sensitive had sanitizers.

I've been more surprised by all the hoarders at the food stores.  :-\

Trained this morning. I'll train tomorrow morning.

You are all cowards.  Cowards.

I know I've caught colds etc from the gym before, I'm not taking any chances  >:(

Well, the places where you probably get covid-19, is shops, gyms, schools, public transportation, etc. places where people gather just to cough and sneeze on the others. They has warned about gatherings of more than 500 people because of this virus, and what do the people do? They panic, run to the store to hoard foods and shit among thousands or others, then they stand in lines coughing and sneezin, while without this they would been quite safe  ;D

I am fat, I'm no twink that's for sure.
I have an agreement with several gym members, if I die while lifting, they are to pile more weight on so I don't look like a weak ass bitch. :D

Honestly, you have a great sense of humor. Where have you been hiding it up until now?

May I borrow your idea about having other gym members pile on more weight should I die lifting too light a load? How lame would it be to have your epitaph read, he was a weak ass bitch.  ;D

Still going to the gym and work. Less and less people at the gym each day. 4500 people work at my place of employment.  So, it is hard to avoid contact with others.

I'll hold off for a bit. Up the walks in the park.  Good of an excuse as any to let the shoulders heal.

Trained legs today and am feeling content.  There wasn’t many people at the gym which I love.  I touched my face a lot less as I am trying really hard to break this habit.

Hi B.  Hope you're well and enjoying the fabulous Gold Coast. Remember gorgeous, your face is fine... it's the mucus membranes, eyes, mouth, nose that cause the touching problem.

Stay beautiful.

Interesting about you trying hard not to touch your face. It is a habit. One which we apparently share. I too have been making a conscious effort not to touch my face. Just to be safe, I sanitized my fingers which are exposed above my gloves a couple of times during my workout today using the gym's wall mounted sanitizer dispensers. Fortunately, the gym wasn't too crowded and there's a fair amount of space between the equipment so I didn't find my self being very near the other gym goers.

They could always check the temperature of gymgoers at the front desk and not let people in with a fever.

Thank you Tommy... I am doing well. I am further north of the Gold Coast. Tomorrow I am boarding a plane to Melbourne as I was going to be attending the Arnold Classic next weekend. I have still decided to travel as I have my son in Melbourne and my late husbands family. It’s pretty scary.... all of this. I hope that you stay safe and well.

Whenever I gave my wife a back and shoulder massage she would complement me on having smooth hands. There's nothing wrong with wearing these when working out. I love my Harbinger gloves with wrist wraps.
