Grant is from the valleys in wales and has a strong welsh accent. I have known him years and he is a good guy. After winning the british he competed in the Night of the champions ( he told me he struck up a friendship with Markus Ruhl who was competed for the first time in America also) where he didnt place but had some good write ups about his showing. He was expected to go on to better things but it didnt really happen for him due to one thing or another. He was pretty short but had a great physique and carried lots of muscle. Last time i saw him was in cardiff and he had lost lots of size and didnt really look like a bodybuilder anymore....shame as he lots of potential.

Thanks for that.  I'm pretty sure I was introduced to him (just the one time for a quick handshake at a regional or something like that) now a few of you have confirmed that he was from Wales...  wide fella as I remember...

on the Terry Mitsos thing, he was definitely talking about Melbourne. Outside of the capital city of Greece (Athens, duh) and 'maybe' one other city, the largest Greek population in the world is in Melbourne (srs). As to how much 'trade' was going on, I have nfi, other than to say that back in his heyday, there was no shortage of Aus made/sold vet gear available, so I'm not sure how much demand there would have been for stuff from overseas for most people.

Maybe I mis-remembered then, but I thought the thing was about pharmacies in Greece not giving a sh1t about prescriptions which made it easy to ship things from there to your 'family' in Melbourne...

But you mentioning vet gear reminds me of that whole 'Drive' cattle thing in the early '90s - wasn't it something like Equipoise combined with Methandriol Dipropionate to 'keep the receptors open' (oh brother smh)  >:(

Didn't he slip on a piss stain at a baseball game and fucked his quad up?
Not sure on that one bud. I know he moved back to NY and opened up a restaurant.

Same thing happened to Iceland's strong man Jon Pall Sigmarsson, but he was in his early 30's.

Greeting Stunt,

Eddie S. ran the 1973 Mr. Int. (not Mr. U as I stated) contest in TJ.

Here's a link to a article I found on it-

http://www.musclememory.com/showArticle.php?mb740112

The Dr. thing is in question for Jesse. Guam Senator, yes apparently.

Here's a GB link-

Be safe and strong,

Pat

Big Pat, I knew Jesse when he trained at Olympus gym in Montebello along with Eddie Holmes and Ellis "Spanky" Evans (who I just recently re-connected with). At that time Jesse claimed to a heart surgeon and then come to find out is wasn't true. Yes, Jesse was a Senator and now resides on Guam, where my wife of 9 years is from where her family is involved in politics. Let's just says he's a pretty corrupt politician. He knows me and I know him. Planning a trip (the first one) to Guam to visit family and hopefully meet up wit him.

However I will say this, he was a damn good lightweight bodybuilder.
