CHAOS, STRIP POKER here in Vegs!

It's been done within the EXCALIBUR and may still be occuring in some casinos around town.

But it ain't the Strip Poker you most likely have in mind.

Rather ... A good looking or possibly even an ugly sripper stands on an elevated platform ajacent to the poker table and removes an article of clothing under certain conditions as the game  proceeds.

(Google: Strip Poker Excalibur) for full details.

The entire city was built to bilk suckers.  That's its function.  It's a mecca of sleaze.  It's casinos and whores.  Srsly, if you go there what do you think is going to happen?  Do you imagine the casinos and whores are going to be all about a fair square deal?

TAPE, A lot of people feel exactly as you do regarding Las Vegas, but there are many such as myself who feel differently.

My personal feeling is that you gotta know this little town well and then  take advantage of the enicing shit it has to offer.

Only then will you see Vegas differently and really start to enjoy it.

And I am one of many who takes advantage of all the free stuff that is alwaysavailable .... without letting this town and its casino  take advantage of me!

Just a couple of perks for instance ... I don't drink much ...but I honestly can't recall ever paying for a beer, a straight shot, nor a cocktail in a casino (small tip excluded).

And every month I get free or haff price invites for great buffets or fine-dining dinners.

And if I want to stand in a 10 minute  casino line .. I can get free 'stuff' (hats, shirts, clocks, toastes, wine, liquor, etc) which make great Christnas presents for friends and neighbors.

And you always meet interesting people.

But the big thing about this town is ...  There is always something to do that is fun or exciting or boring as shit (such as watching a singer sing).

But still ... There are tons of peole out there who hate the shit that I seem to enjoy and appreciate.

I guess Vegas fans would argue that it has a unique cultural attraction but, for me, the place would be less than zero fun.  Destinations which promise sensual indulgence don't really do it for me so I doubt I'll ever attend any of the world's famous Sin Cities.

SF,

Out of curiousity, who is the guy in your avatar?

I've always wondered whether it was Coach or that other bodybuilder Raymond that looks like the coach.

It's Coach.  ;D ;D He said I could use it.

I don't gamble because it's not gambling at all, I know I am going to lose.  I barely understand Solitaire on Windows, LOL!  I have a friend that regularly goes to Las Vegas is he said he is "comped" his room and meals as he usually spends around $5,000 gambling.  That seems like a lot to me but he is a self made millionaire and according to him, since he is of Asian descent gambling is in his DNA.

So it's not a  disease and it ain't his fault.  He cain't hep it!  ;D

I understand him.

I don't gamble on a regular basis, but at least once a year, I will go to Foxwoods or another close casino and play about $2,500-3,500 in poker. I know damn well that a pro will smoke me out if I stay at a table long enough, but I do it anyway. It keeps me honest. Makes me realize that as much as I am good with numbers and fast analytics, there are guys out there that do this for a living and who pay their bills by being regulars.

Here's a question for the obsessive gamblers here that have access to online poker sites with legalized gambling. I'm sure you've all seen websites that can give you the odds of playing each hand, be it at a 6 or 8 player table for poker. You enter the cards you have on hand,  the flop, turn vs river + number of players at the table and it gives you the odds of winning the hand based on all entered variables. Have any of you online poker gamblers played on a poker gambling site while having a separate laptop open next to you and used the odds calculator to maximize your true potential of winning? If so, has it worked? I've always wondered about the probable success of using this type of software while playing online.

OneMore, I'm unable to offer you an accurate answer because I am no Poker expert and only play a couple of times each month ... But arn't the pro-poker players capable of ding those sort of poker computations  without any out-side help assistance?

Pros can do that in their sleep.

I'm talking about the average guy that plays every week for fun but does so by gambling online. Have those guys utilize the poker software to give them an edge while playing and is it effective?

Gambling can be fun, but it's a lot more fun when it proves to be more of a sure thing by way of proper calculation of odds.

You gamble $3500 on one day? You must be loaded to have that kind of discretionary money to play with. We go down to AC once a month and the wife uses $100 bucks for the night.

Yes sir. Remember, I only go to a casino about once per year and by once I mean 1 day of the year. I go to let out the desire to gamble, almost serves as a cautionary tale for me not to pretend that I can go back.

Sometimes, I break even, most often times I leave with just half of what I started with.

HEY! Speaking of Vegas ... Have any of you GetBiggers spent any time (plus lots of money) in one of our bigger night-clubs such as XS in the Wynn?

There are a whoole lot of those night-clubs and day-clubs now.

It all started with a major pool party at the phenominal HARD ROCK pool years ago and was the top day-pool-party in town until some guy decided to take a deep dive into the shallow end of the pool ... and came up dead.

I'm beyond my years of paying any amount of money to get into any facility that serves alcohol, but here in Vegas the younger generatons will pay $40 to enter and then pay $15 to $20 for a cocktail.

But more pay more by reserving a private table with a minimum purchase of $700+ (way plus) for a bottle of Vodka and a buket of ice with those little twizzel sticks or colorful umbrellas.

A $5,000 night on town is not unusual for a small group of friends.

PLUS ... Don't tell anyone but here's a true story about someone most GetBiggers either know or have read about. For privacy reasons, I'll call him "FREDO".

FRDO was a bodybuilder who could withstand a solid punch!

FREDO decided to throw a birthday party for his sister and five close friends in one of  this town's best nightclubs.

He made a reervation and was told that the minimum fee would be $5,000 on his credit card even before he got inside.

He said OK and gave the details.

So the birthday party starts around 11 pm that evening and they are all gathered at their private table with a few bottles of alcohol and all the mixes and other stuff that comes with it with the intent to have $5,000 worth of fun and intoxication .... when some guy at the next table (the bad guy) hits my friend (too long of a story to say why) and my friend who was a great boxer during his school days takes a solid punch without falling over and retaliates with his own solid punch to the nose of the perpetrator (the bad guy).

And blood goes flying all over and the bad guy ends up on the floor while the good guy (my friend) sits back down waiting for the security guys to do whatever security guys do do in a situation such  a this.

Ends up .. the good guy has to leave but would have to sign off on his card for whatever amount the bill came to ... as he did not want to ruin his sister's birthday even though he had to leave.

FIRE next door ...

False alarm!

Sorry but ... I thoght that story would be of interest.

But the main idea here is ... Vegas night life can be very expensive even if you're not there to enjoy it.

Poker and blackjack only 2 games you should play, and only if you know what you are doing.
Sometimes the only way to win is to not play at all.

Poker is the worst to play if you want to make money unless you are playing with a bunch of rubes.

Just returned from ELLIS ISLAND CASINO.

Bought in for $100 (Blackjack) and departed with $150 and had a great Fish and Chips lunch before I left.

I whole-heartedly recommend dining at Ellis Island, but don't expect it to be too damn fancy.

DIABLO, "Giving away money"?

I don't know exactly what ya mean because I've only seen money being "given away' a few times in which I was involved.

Once I won a chance to enter a 'contraption' in the old Riviera hotel which was a glass enclosure about the size of two telephone booths in which various denominations of US dollar bills were blown around by a large fan in the floor.

You stepped into that glass booth and the fan would blow all that money into the enclosed air while you attempted to grab as many of the bills as possible.

That was one way I saw them give money away.

The second money give-away was a common event in which Mr. Binion would walk among the slot macine players and give each of them a roll of nickles which they'd eventually lose in their nickle slot machine.

I guess that you could say that they "give money away' when they give me free stuff if I visit that particular casino on a particular day ... most recent free stuff was a digital bathroom scale on one day and a wall clock on another.

Plus I receive lots of free stuff in the form of buffet meals at least 2x a week.

But, as you know, they offer this free stuff as a form of enticement to get me in there to lose more cash than all that free stuff cost them to get me in there.

At one time (but no longer) this town didn't have to offer free stuff simply because offered a cheap vacation.

The Vegas hotel room rates made it more affordale to come to Vegas than the hotel room rates within any other city.

$39 room rates were common in Vegas years ago and the $2.99 cent buffet sealed the deal  but  now you gotta add a resort fee, a parking fee, a 13% tax fee .... and that buffet will set ya back another $14 - $45.

And don't be surprised if you see a 'toilet flushing fee' the next time you come to town.

If that happens ... I'll merely piss in the cornor or shit in the shower.

Yes, old Vegas is long dead.  It used to be a great place for a cheap vacation but not anymore.  When I lived there 15 years ago it was cheap to live there as well.....not anymore.  Reno and other smaller towns in Nevada much better place to spend your money.

stunt,

As I wrote in a previous thread, I don’t care for the modern Las Vegas.  It’s now all Gucci, Prada, and Tiffany’s.  I liked the old tacky, cheap Las Vegas (I still haven’t gotten over paying $14.25 for a bourbon and ginger ale drink when I was there two years ago).

That said here’s a blast from the past.  Singer Louis Prima and his wife Gia Maione in front of a 1965 Imperial, and the Sahara:
