Can adding olive oil lower cholesterol? That's another thing Danta Doggcrapp recommends. Says to put it into protein shakes :D

I remember macadamia nut butter was thing with bodybuilders in years past, as a better fat than peanut. I don't know a lot about fats so I dunno :D

A while back I read that pork fat was the 8th most nutritious food in the world, also heart healthy. Better than beef fat.

Just got back from the Dr. Did blood work and met with the Dr. Will stay on statins until my labs come back. Dr noticed I lost 15 pounds since November (lost 2 points in BMI). Said my diet was good (but ease up on the diet Mt Dew and ditch the potatos for sweet potatos). Said my 2 cheat meals a week (Friday and Saturday night dinners) are ok. Hopefully, the dieting and exercise and statins will have reduced my high triglycerides. To celebrate, I stopped by Dunkin Donuts when I left. Eating my glazed donuts now.

Good friend of mine died and he was 52 5’6 150 lean muscular, ate perfect and had perfect bloodwork and jogged daily and worked out. Dropped dead. So I don’t think anything matters.

My numbers came back and they're great!
Cholesterol was 220 mg's, now it's 141 mg
Triglycerides were 212 mgs', now 111 mg
HDL stayed the same at 47 mg's. Need to work on that
VLCL Calc was 39 mg's, now its 20 mg
LCL-C was 135 mg's, now at 74 mg.

Doc's gone on vacation and will follow up later so I don't know if I'll have to keep taking the statins. I'm not sure how much they really played a part in this. I feel like it was my change in diet (i.e, avoiding certain foods) and the weight loss that did it.

I had ZERO side effects from statins but I did take the lowest dosage. I avoided white flour/sugar for the most part and added more vegetables. I walked every day for 2 miles/40 minutes and lifted 3 times a week (deadlits, squats, bench presses, standing overhead presses, rows). I'll continue this but will tighten up my avoidance of white flour/sugar. I want to lose more weight and will see how my cholesterol numbers fare.

Keep taking the statins.
Your doctor has a big monthly nut on his boat loan, BMW, and waterfront vacation home mortgage.
He needs those Pfizer residual payments to keep up.

Also avoid processed foods and seed oils if you aren't already.

I only did the lifting and did cardio maybe 3 times a week at best. Terrible diet so that's why I don't think the statins really had that much of an impact. When you google how to lower your Triglycerides and cholesterol, its always about avoiding white flour/sugar. I'll see what the dr says about staying on statins. I'll be 60 the first of April (no foolin') so whatever helps my health I'll do. Wife says my snoring stopped the moment I began statins so maybe there's an issue. I noticed that I felt better once I started them.
