What's funny is the PDI with Wayne's money and his partner alone probably have as much if not more than the IFBB and without any debt.

I need to know doesn't AMI own the IFBB now, or is it just the Olympia they own and the magazines.

And other than the prize money and expo, the NOC will be a better and more extravagant and probably expensive show as the Olympia.  With it being downsized so much to the Orleans.  Remember Wayne knows how to put on a show, the IFBB, AMI or Manion do not know how to put on the Olympia.  It has shown since they took over.  So not much debate on that subject

If Wayne and company have "as much money if not more than the IFBB, without the debt..." Then why are they giving out a paltry $30K purse for their flagship show? Why are they not signing athletes to endorsement contracts like the WBF did? Where are the big name sponsors?

AMI does NOT own the IFBB...Joe and Ben Weider do.

The Olympia hasn't been downsized...the arena is bigger, and had bigger attendance than any in Olympia history...the Expo is also bigger, and expanded...and had the largest attendance.

Where do you get your facts from, bro?

He said 30k is low for a Flagship show.

Usually a flagship show to a promotions starts off with a sizable prize purse to attract more competitors.  30K is kind of low for a promotion competing directly against the IFBB
and the NOC is going to be the showpiece of the PDI.  T

Basically its no different than comparing the top athletes of the IFBB and PDI.

PDI....Lee Priest
IFBB......Ronnie Coleman

In other words, the IFBB literally dwarfs the PDI

This is as of May 24.  The NOC is 4 months away.  Some guys won't be announcing it until the end, as they are milking their current contracts and paydays.  Vince, you know a little something about milking, don't you?

Where was the twisting of words? He probably would prefer that all contests have a greater than 30K purse.

He's putting out 150k in prize monies over 5 shows in Sept and Oct alone.

He could put all that $ into the NOC purse, but why?  Why not put on 5 shows in 5 different countries and grow it?  Besides, the PDI is getting mad coverage in MD and the athletes who compete will have plenty of endorsement opportunities.

Tell me this, for the 20,000 unique visitors that getbig receives every day... who have they been talking and reading about MORE for the last 3 months-  Jack "Rhino" London or HALF of the IFBB Pros?

Right now, Rhino has more recognizability than half the IFBB pro guys.  And he hasn't stepped onstage yet.  Love him or hate him, Rhino's face is in your psychii :)

I like Rhino, but having people talk about you on a message board doesn't mean that they will come to see you in a contest. After all, Vince Goodrun receives a lot of publicity here.

No, but in a one-page ad in MD or any other magazine, the reader who recognizes a face will pause and scan the ad instead of turning the page.  That extra second or two of "Hey, ain't that Rhino?" increases the chances of you noticing that product and in turn buying it.

Same reason why celebrities hock Pepsi or McD.  You're going to pay more attention to a face you recognize- and right now, more ppl recognize Rhino than half of the men that stood onstage at the NY Pro.

Can you pick any of these guys out of a lineup? They are all IFBB Pros from the NY Pro list and a helluva lot less recognizeable by american message board readers.

2 Adzievski, Oliver Sweden
3 Arevalo, Pablo Peru
5 Bui, Eryk USA
7 Faour, Aiman Germany
11 Glanville, Hunni England
23 Prado, Edson Brazil
26 Torabi, Reza Amin Canada
27 Welling, Ricky England

The people who buy those supplements based on the ads are probably not the people who post on this site. It's different with mainstream endorsers.

Actually, many here are the muscletech warriors.  They are just blatently mocked by vocal members when they do mention it.  And with the continued integration of MD and GB interests, it's only going to increase.  Ron has been in MD a few times, and GB is mentioned by name at least once every issue.

What I'm saying is that those who post here, for the most part, consider themselves too smart to buy a supplement based on who is in the ad, especially if the person in the ad does not have a top physique. Do people here buy supps advertised by Derek Anthony?

Not buy- but stick around on the page long enough to catch more of the ad than if the reader didn't recognize the endorser.  DerekA brings a very negative, gay stigma that hurts sales.  But most of Getbig that recognizes Rhino will know what about him... big bald guy... strong dude... PDI, right?  Nothing negative though.  Sure, he has some battles online and he'll get an occasional 'monster ___", but all in all, he has more ad value than most of those bottom feeder IFBB guys.

Pro Bodybuilding Weekly has been "told" not to interview Wayne.  And so they won't.

They are hoping Wayne will go away.

The fact that he scares them tells you just how shaky they feel about themselves.

Hmmmmm.

Do you think the O will have higher production value than the NOC?

The O is cutting money- we see that from the mandalay move and the loss of the PPV.  Wayne is dumping some serious funds into making the NOC a success. You seen the venue? Nice place, next to a nice hotel, near times square.

The athletes- we cannot comment on their quality yet, as half of them have not even declared yet.  It's 16 weeks away and many have contracts they are milking to the end.

Did you not hear about the NOC in 04? Did you not see how HORRIBLE it was? I honestly feel the only reason you support is because Wayne has offered you some sort of deal.

Oh yeah, that was a crappy show, I agree completely.  But wince wayne promoted several shows a year for 15 years with no major problems, and one gay ass show occured on the last days of his reign... I'd have to say that overall, he did a good job.  B+!

It was also the FIRST ever PDI show at a time when he thought his reign as the head os his own organisation was about to start. It was run the way he wanted with the entertainment values he wanted.
Interesting that you consider BDSM and Paedophillia to be something worth watching. Pretty much everyone there found it distasteful, but each to their own.

Oh Kevin!
You're not going to get all TASTEFUL on us after all these years!
Actually, I'm rather hoping gerontophilia is going to to become fashionable.
Seems to be all the rage at the IFBB.
Best wishes from the old country,

well, I have been picked up by another supp. company and it is because of my recognition here. I also want to say that not only am I more well know, and more respected by those who know me, this is the second year in a row that I have been told that I could beat half those IFBB guys in the New York Pro.

Just a thought......

I think the recognition is great for you, I just don't think the average supplement buyer makes a purchase because of who is in the ad. It could probably be about any buff guy, although maybe we fans would be more likely to buy something that you endorse. ;D
