I haven't looked at the statistics but I think there are more pedophiles that lurk in the shadows than we might assume. As well as pedophiles who are drawn to kids but don't act on it.

The only thing I’d say, is that it must be in the most extreme circumstances where there is no doubt that they did it, ie caught in the act/with the child or something like that. No going back 30 years and making an accusation about it present day. I don’t mind the death penalty, but only if there is concrete evidence of the crime and no chance of a mistake.
