MAJOR transformation from 6 weeks ago.
Time to torture yourself with the diet now...next 2 weeks? Lots of white meat(turkey tenderloins, tilapia) and very moderate greens(broccoli, salads, green beans). I'd also have a little bit of FLAX oil with every meal.
I'd be cutting out your protein shakes now if you use any. Absolutley NO bars.
I'd be doing 45-60 minutes of cardio every morning up to 3 DAYS OUT. Use the STAIR MILL or high incline treadmill.
Maybe even 20-30 minutes of very mild cardio in the evening. NO 'fat burners' now. They stress the body out too much this close to the show which causes muscle loss.
Pop BCAA's and glutamine before, after cardio and your weight training.
NO leg workouts 7-9 days before the show.

How much do those things cost?They range. Mine cost about $250 each (1-piece & 2-piece). You have to wear regulation suits (you don't necessarily have to have the stones, but if you didn't...you would be the only one without them) And no, you cannot wear them to swim in. In womens bodybuilding the pre-judging suit is always a 2-piece and has no stones on it, but the night show suit does.
Also, do you have to wear that kind or can you just wear a bathing suit?

Hey Everyone!!! I'm back. And although I didn't cure cancer...I did place, in the Open Level in fact. :) I placed 5th and I'm very happy about it as like everyone has said "it is a level V show" and I wasn't quite a level V competitor. I did my best, had a great time and then I placed. As far as the Masters. The expeditor came out and called "Fitness over 40 up next" when he meant "figure over 40", therefore I did not go back stage and was not there when they called me out. Soooooooooo, I was disqualified for not being there for the judging. They appologized emphatically, but there was nothing they could do. I am glad I decided to "try" the open, otherwise it would have been a wasted effort this time around. There were a lot of beautiful girls, but I feel I held my own considering it was my first time ever stepping foot on stage.
This experience was wonderful. I enjoyed myself so much and wasn't the least bit nervous. I wiill definitely be doing the June show as well. Be warned though ... it too is a level V show. :)

Granted, you look good, but Michael there is filling your head with delusions of grandeur thinking you can jump right in a level V show as a first timer.
It could have been a disaster, but the reality is she didn't do bad at all. Since she seems to be able to hold her own at that level, no sense going backwards at this point.
That doesn't change the fact that she has serious "issues", though, and will probably have a meltdown worthy of local news coverage at some point. :-\

Met Mike and Laura at the show...have to admit, I have not been on the boards since around last October, so I had no idea she was competing until I saw her and Mike at the show. I had a feeling there might be a thread about her on here, so figured I would check. She is a very pretty woman. Laura, you looked good, and very poised, considering it was your first show. With a little tweaking, I think you will do well at the June show, regardless of it being a Level V. Good Luck to you, and I am sure I will see you there!

I worked my ass off. I was in the gym at 5am every day doing cardio. I weight trained 6 days a week (one body part at a time). And then did cardio every night. I dieted to the point that I even now that I can let go a little...I feel guilty eating something other than chicken breast or turkey. Ya so I took ECA stacks, but if you honestly think I would shoot the shit men do into my body...you are seriously mistaken.
Like I said, you can say anything you want...but you guys can't burst this bubble. At 43 I look pretty good and I competed against girls in their 20's. I had the best time Saturday and you can't take that away from me.

As far as jumping into this level 5 show, the shows in this area (Palm Beach) are higher level shows so in order to start at a level 1...I would have to travel. I take this show as experience and I'm using what I have learned to move forward to June's show.

Difference Between Pride And Faith

Do Not Pick Proud Leaders

Why would a novice be more apt to fall with pride? Surely, lack of failure can be the only answer. Experience shows us that we can be wrong. This should cause us to always look to God for His help and direction.
