Went there on holiday back in '03 for a week - it is a complete and utter shithole - rats everywhere as well as obvious prostitution even on the resort and the staff did nothing about it. Beaches are crap but I think that was our fault because we went to the north (atlantic) end of the island (I've heard the south/caribbean side is better). The towns we visited had open sewers running through them and it seemed like a really uneasy place, like shit was going to kick off any minute. Wouldn't go back there in a milion years.

I have been to korea 3 times now.
the first time i went i was visiting family and we had to shit in bowls (just the kids) and they would dump it into a container of sorts and periodically it would get dumped into the rice patty right across the dirt path. they didn't take to kindly to me then because i was a mix breed. my grandparents lived in a more rural area.
the other 2 times i went there was to visit my sister who was stationed there.
when you first get there, there is a sliding door of sorts separating you from people landing and people picking you up. I remember when that door open i gagged because of the smell. 5 minutes later i didn't even notice it!
when i visited my sister it was great. i had a great time and the people for the most part were cool even though i know no korean. the girls love the military guys there, but they still had love for me since i was american.
but i never had to work with them, just partied.

we in holland experience a lot of trouble from morroccan people coming from Marroco's rif mountains (at least their children who were born here), some people from dutch origin doesnt make a real distinction between them and turks because they kind of look like eachother (most of times i can see the difference) but compared to the morroccans they do very well here.

I lived in Scotland for 4 years, and fuck, do I hate the place. Actually it is a beautiful country, the Scottish people are the problem, bunch of wankers with massive chips on their shoulders.

Malta - From the moment you leave the airport to the moment you get back, the smell of shit and flies never leaves your nostrils.
Norway - Boring goody two shoes girls that never have had to struggle since their communist/socialist government feeds them like children. Be nice to see them in a war. Women is ok, fucked a few, all took it up the ass too.
Sweden - Depressing, grey, communist government. Nice people, most I know are all leaving due to high taxes, ridiculously intrusive laws and uninspiring country sides.
England - probably the best of the worst. I live here since elsewhere is shit too.
Greece - The islands were ok but Athens in my opinion is the toilet of Europe. Fucking hot and full of all sorts of girls and immigrants.
Morocco - Full of sand apes and scum trying to sell you all sorts of shit and fleece you out of your money. We left after 3 days, was supposed to be there for 7.
USA - Don't want to rap them too bad since I have quite a few American mates and think the people are stellar. However, having to live with the media and the constant intrusive patriotism being forced down your throat made me ill. Went twice, both coasts, have not the slightest intention ever going back to visit.
South Africa - Went once, full of weirdos trying to act American or British since they don't have their own culture and are hopelessly confused about their own identities.
France - enough said.
I'm easy to please really. Countries like Belgium, Austria, New Zealand, Slovakia, Italy are all fantastic places I've visited often and will do in the future.

Goes without saying that wherever the 'minorities' live, is a fucking foul pig sty inhabited by the worse of that country. I see the same thing happening with beautiful quaint towns in northern Italy that have been all white for 100's of years. Minorities move in and the standards drop, crime goes up immediately.

Ironically Ive been to Dominican (to the east side) PuntaCana and its the best place Ive been by far!! half of Hollywood own houses down there Cap cana, casa D' Campo etc..
The worst I have ever visited has to be NewPort R.I ....the beaches are pure crap and dirty.. talk about overrated spot. :(

The streets are dirty and often stink of piss, they've been building a new rail system for years now and its already 2 years late with another year and a half to go, the result is that the traffic and pollution is terrible...as with most public building here its sh!ttily done and falls apart soon after being built...
practical services are an unorganised nightmare, visas, taxes etc., are all run by disorganised chaotic ministries where the best way to get service is to find "protectzia" otherwise known as someone on the inside...imagine every aspect of your life 20 times more chaotic than the DMV then you'll get my drift
people are rude, will push and shove, never say please or thankyou and more and more religious nutcases seem to appear every day preaching increasingly radical crap in the hope that we'll all be saved in a great return by one of: Jesus, The Jewish Messiah, Mohammed

Every country has great places and shitty places. It all depends on what area/city you're in. You really can't make an informed judgment about an entire country based on having visited or lived in only one or two places there, which I suspect many people who have replied to this thread are doing.
Especially since the majority here only visited for a brief period...

Shithole, 90% of the buildings are cheap hotels, cheap resteraunts, or small shops trying to sell fake sports merchandise. The people walk around with disgusting looks on their faces.
It's funny that even though the place is packed with resteraunts the people are all skinny, there are no fat people there, i didn't see one in the four days i was there.
The highlight of the trip was going to the "Hard Rock Cafe" and Aerosmith - Dude looks like a Lady was playing while i eat my food.
the fact that that was the highlight of the trip should tell you how shitty it was overall.

I found Ghana, Togo, Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire to be great places. Spent about half a year in West Africa in the early nineties. If you have local friends in a country, you tend to have a great time because they take you around.
If you don't know anybody, places become less fun, unless they have a well developed tourist infrastructure (Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa).
Benin was the only country I visited without knowing anybody there, and I hated it - although I'm sure it is not worse.

haven't seen anyone mention puerto rico... its a fucking dump and a half. the old fort was an awesome piece of history and the place I stayed at was nice but as soon as you are off private property the place turns to slum. the people are rude as fuck and smell like shit as well.

Both of those are right. I can think of only two countries in Africa that have a big majority of whites and those two countries are actually worth visiting and at a stretch, living in. Go to any ANY country run by negroes inhabited by 98%+ negroes, and it's utter fucking chaos. Mud huts, hunting for food, tribal warfare, drinking water from river. Man (let's face it, white man) also did that 1000's of years ago. I did Tanzania a couple of years back. Climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru, was there 2 weeks. Had a blast, but it was all touristy areas and activities. I'd imagine living there would suck.
I was in Tanzania now recently for 2 months on contract in Dar es Salaam.
The work was interesting but the place sucked.
