first let me apoligize for any spelling errors and the like , im in a bit of a rush but would like some input
for not being naturaly shredded. do you find that you adhere to the typical diet only to mess up every single time eventually after how many years unsuccessfully only to meet the same result give or take this or that. have you given up or do you keep trying new methods to maintain the volume in your training and or methods of eatin different instead of the 'same' approach that you cannot master yet, or do you keep trying to master traditional approaches, and keep the faith that you will master a traditional approach even though its brutaly hard to do so? with all that adversity do you think drugs are the answer or better yet keep trying to be like J-rod the guy that only eats egg whites low carbs low fats no matter what, or do you feel a little falcon lurking inside of you and feel that could be a better approach (beer, grapejuice, skim milk, veggies)
and lastly what do you pay attention to more , or what is more of a goal for you...total volume completed per week (this will determine how much mass u might carry depending upon how important volume is) or to stay in a certain calorie range or both. have u kept track and can say that you are doing more volume now than last year, or how much worse are you, or do you even have a clue and just train for fun staying in decent shape with no intentions of progression of volume?
-
my excuse for not being shredded is that i love to eat food too much and also i drink often.
cant win them all.
-
My conditioning is actually a little too extreme for my tastes, I'm happy just to hold some water these days.
-

cant win them all.
we cant win them all but we can WIN on some days...
meaning somedays we screw up to a degree
otherdays we do it right
most of us however fail more times than not because hardly anyof us are ripped
we must look further into the malfunctions of all the days we do not do it right (more often than not and more often than we have beleived) because after all most of us are far from 'maintaining' a ripped state
-
It's much healthier to carry quite a bit of fat on your body.
-
j-rod has to be near some sort of psychosis/enlightend state for him to be so strict
if any of us tried to eat super strict there would be about 5 things that would 'get' to us and cause us to screw up or accept failure. im sure j-rod has ways of battling against strong cravings that we are not applying?
-
Jeff, how much do you know about the hormones that drive our appetite, cravings and feelings of satiety? Getting shredded requires that you go against your bodies natural tendencies. It can be done for a period of time, but eventually, your body's biology wins out and forces you to eat what it craves...regardless of will power. It's like going underwater. You can only hold your breath for so long before you have to come up for air.

I began to look unhealthy, I don't like being asked if I'm sick. I'm speaking in the none bbing sense. In no way do I look "big"

There are drugs, herbs, etc. that can manipulate these "cravings". I think the future of "dieting" is in this arena....

J-rod can't have much of a social life outside of bodybuilding.
Sneaking out of a movie to go to mix up a meal replacement.
No thanks

i can be ripped pretty easily. all it takes is 4 cardio sessions a week and eat super clean.
the problem is, I'll drop 30 pounds overnight and be a 155 pound twink.
i'd rather be 12% body fat at 190 than ripped at 150.
-

this is not fat acceptance, i feel an 'i gave up' speech coming on :-X

cuts mean nothing without size, size means nothing without cuts.

I'm using that line next time I order a steak.

seems about the only way, aslong as u have the right calories to keep activity up=maintaining muscle through moderate levels of activity. i dont think the muscles will 'work' on super low calories, or that may be wrong, or you will just stay sore longer but be more ripped ;D

why deprive yourself of the pleasures of life just to be ripped ???

If you're pleasure is to be ripped and not eat then your point is moot. It's all in what you want to do, free choice all that shit

I maintain a ripped state while eating whatever I want.
Last night, Jezebelle and I made Bacon, Cheddar Cheese and Scallion Scones and Chocolate Chip Muffins, both from King Arthur`s James Beard award winning cookbook.
It REALLY is easy.
King Arthur even makes it easier providing all Nutrition facts for its recipes per gram/ per serving.

to get more pussy aka having a ripped chizzeld abdominals to show off to fine hoes that love that sort of thing? perhaps wearing a tight t-shirt with no ab distention but whores being able to see your 6 pack through the t-shirt=cool

What time did McJeff PM/Email/IM you to jump in on this thread to validate his point? Curious minds want to know.

If you eat what you crave while dieting you do not have to worry about ANY of that.
It is a total non-issue.

ROFLMAO, he has yet to do so as it still has taken him years to figure out how I maintain being lean whilst eating every food available that I desire.
-
i am married
not interested in skanks
most married people do not care about how ripped they are because they are not looking to impress, so i see your point
all women have been a skank before somewhere along there timeline, it is key to be ripped crossing good women in skank periods in there timeline/lifetime?
-

It's not rocket science, you take in what you need to maintain your desired level of condition and you train hard, correct?

Being with someone and settling for NOT being ripped means you just have given up on yourself. ;D
-
I'm relatively lean but have a fast metabolism.
-
It's not rocket science, you take in what you need to maintain your desired level of condition and you train hard, correct?
Correct. However, there are droves here who cannot wrap their mind around that they too, could eat whatever they want, become ripped, and maintain it indefinitely.
They have convinced themselves that only certain foods do the trick when that is simply and entirely false.
-
funny thing is science 100% backs it up and people still choose to follow oats and tuna diets

i havent given up, are you sure youre always shredded why not prove it i dont see any cross striations in your triceps yet myfriend ?
-

Me to. I had to do everything I could to gain weight growing up.
-
there are alot of lean people but very few truly ripped and maintain it, and prove it j-rod is a good example
-

Maybe he just needs a glass or two of expensive wine to bring out those stragnations?

very very very very very few people are BIG AND LEAN, 260 at 5'7" and 5 percent. :D

the wonder of getbig is that any % under 25% is automatically rounded down to 12% ;D

You are wrong. Hope this helps.
Get your .5-1 gram of protein per bodyweight in using any food you like. Fill the rest of the calories to about 2000 with whatever you like. And yes, Mindspin, you too will be ripped year round.
Hope this helps.
-
And on Sundays, I don`t count any calories, but usually go VERY high. Then Monday its back to 2000.
Hope this helps for anyone who is not ripped and wants to be.
Follow what I have written in these past two posts and you will be unbelievably lean. The longer you follow it of course, the better the result.

You acknowledge that protein needs to be set at a certain level = it's not just calories in/out.
I agree that once you set your protein the rest pretty much doesn't matter. Adequate intake of EFAs is important too.

I eat whatever I want for six months out of the year in modest quantities and turn into a fat pig. As soon as I manipulate my macros, I can eat large quantities of food and get DICED. Not only does science support me, but so does my own personal experience.

As soon as I manipulate my macros, I can eat large quantities of food and get DICED. Not only does science support me, but so does my own personal experience.
Large quantity as in volume or calories? You have to eat a lot of egg whites and oatmeal to equal a Big Mac. Junk food is calorie dense as you know.

-
How do I get around it?
bulimia
-
NO excuse.
I grew into a fatass, because I quit working out, quit eating healthy, and starting eating all the junk food I could find.
I did it, I own it.
Then I made the conscious decision to change. I didn't like that life anymore. So, I did. I'm still a work in progress and I do sometimes struggle with my sweet tooth, but every time I say 'no' to a sugary snack I don't need, I get that much closer to my goal.
No explanations and NO excuses. Either do it or don't do it and right now, I'm doing it.
-

how many calories per day do you get on your best estimation? we all embellish perhapse 10 percent or so. do you stay under 3000 calories a day?

My company pays for my gym membership...... but I'm anti-establishment.

bro,u at one point in your life achieved physical condition that some could only dream of,even now a bit older, cleaner,u have still tapped musculature that most don't have due to them/they never doing true bbing diet, prep, drug, supplement naturally, that u did and u still like i said have residual thickness that can be manipulated in bulk or cut.this is actually a compliment to you by the way.
-
willpower's never REALLY been a problem for me. the biggest problem i run into is the concern that i'm not doing things right and so i stop the diet figuring i should bail out before all my muscle evaporates. if they made a "people chow" that came in a big-ass bag and was all you had to eat four meals a day in a bowl with some water i'd do it, but once i get about two months deep into a diet and i'm feeling weak and worn down paranoia strikes and i think i'm just burning off muscle instead of fat.
far as i'm concerned, dieting is easy. every fluctuation in weight i've ever had has been on purpose. i could fast for days at a time if it was the right way to do things, but when the hunger pangs hit (such as now) there's that niggling doubt in the back of my head that says "you're fucking up dude, tomorrow you'll barely be able to do a pushup in the gym".

I feel like that all the time. Always second guessing myself. I've never dieted down completely to like 10% or so, and have never been 10% so I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to look like? No reference point.
Another thing that crushes me is when I start getting that 'damn he used to be big look.' I'm trying to train my brain to know I'm gonna get a bit smaller, it's inevitable. If I can maintain most of my strength, I can live with being smaller, I guess.
-

Controlled studies show that total intake determines body weight, so I don't think science supports that statement.
Maybe you just had an easier time overeating on more calorie dense food?
-
I make a living with food. I train so I don't weigh 1000 lbs. If I earned my money with my looks then I'd be conditioned. Not an excuse but the truth. A Chef has to taste everything they cook. How do I get around it?
No chef ever got fat by "tasting" food. ;D
-

yes total intake determines body weight
but the activity determines muscle weight
so obviously wavelength has got his acitivity and calories in perfect zen
all hed have to do is increase cals slightly and do 4 more extra sets for superior mass ;D

Activity + protein determines muscle weight I would say.
It's true, my current weight is pathetic, even for my genetics. I'm gonna bulk as soon as my injury is healed.

interesting but you do realize calories excluding protien calories go to muscleweight as well dont you? thus rendering your assumption false

It's not a linear formula but a certain minimum amount of protein is needed, that's what I was getting at.
Activity + a diet with zero protein will probably not provide muscle gains.

that is a bold statement even with 20 grams of protien and alot of other calories you can still grow or maintain good strength levels
this is an interesting topic since carbs and fats are the primary feul sources and not protien
if you give the body only protien the body will adjust its metabolism to be a protien burner wich is not good, you would have lower thyroid output
yes protien stimulates thryroid but an all protien diet even high protien < not as good as fat and carbs for muscle sustenance
-

Well that doesn't really go against my statement.
I have witnessed body composition getting worse on protein less than 0.5g / lb LBM though.
Any studies on body composition that show that as little as 20g is sufficient for optimal muscle gains / preservation? I would be interested.

I blame pot and genetics.

What's Your Excuse?
I don’t have time.
I’m so uncoordinated, I couldn’t possibly do that.
I did it once and it hurt.
I don’t have the money to spend on a club or gym membership.
I get bored.
I don’t like doing it alone.

great thread right here, with some real honest thoughts and opinions...

Anything of substance that adds to this?
This may be where Wavelegth has things down pat...
In regards to only being able to eat clean for a certain period of time, for some it may be beneficial to use the "Wavelength/Adonis" principles 2 or 3 days out of a week just to reduce the 'craving' factor while still keeping calories in check. Thus, enabling someone to maintain or continue dropping bodyfat due to low caloric levels. Using this method would essentially be utilizing the best of both worlds.
-

I have three separate eating phases over the course of the year. 1) eating pretty much eat anything I want, 2) eating very clean, nutrient dense super foods and 3) low carb/high protein/moderate fat.
Phase 1 is when I'm not too engaged in my training and more focused on other stuff. I'm in the gym 3-4x week and even take several weeks off. This past year I took all of Jan & Feb off. Phase 2 is when I'm focused on improving my health. I train with weights 3-4x week, do a lot of conditioning & some yoga. Phase 3 is when I feel the need to put on size and lean out. I train 4x week with weights and do cardio 5-7x week.
My weight fluctuates throughout the year from as low as 190lbs to as high as 215lbs. Usually at 215 I'm a lot leaner than at 190 becasue that's when I'm training for getting bigger/leaner.

Exactly, the point is to make the diet as convenient as possible without sacrificing body composition. The only difference between the principles and a conventional bodybuilding diet is that the principles get rid of unnecessary restrictions.
You can use them every day of course, not just 2 or 3 days a week. I have absolutely no problem being on a caloric deficit for as long as I want. I've been in deficit for 5 months now and I feel great.

How do you feel about your diet in regards to 'overall health' in the future?

How do you feel about your diet in regards to 'overall health' in the future?
Why would it be any different or worse?

Why would it be any different or worse?
Good point...I guess if it does what you claim in regards to body composition it really wouldn't matter, or make any difference?
Adonis, how many meals do you average a day, or does it vary?
Do you think it matters whether or not you skip a morning breakfast?
-
How do you feel about your diet in regards to 'overall health' in the future?
Bro-science is as prevalent regarding health issues as it is for body composition. Expert opinions on optimal health vary a lot. I just strive for maximum food variety. IMO, the mental component of eating whatever I like counters all minor deficiencies I might be having. Although I doubt that there are any.

Well, that's because you're not consuming less than your daily BMI. It's too simple! ;)
-
Funny thing is what is common knowledge on other, much bigger boards still seems to be a great revelation on getbig.
-
You ate too much.
I doubt it. I don't have a naturally large appetite and I'm usually so busy during my work day, that I have to make a conscious effort to not forget to eat breakfast & lunch.
Bottom line is, when I want to get big and shredded, I INCREASE my calories, eat more frequently, jack up the protein, play around with the carbs and eat plenty of good fats. It works every time.

Seriously, it's the calorie in/out theory that is archaic....

Then you go against every serious controlled study ever made on the correlation between total intake and body weight.
My experience correlates to those scientific studies.

Well, that's because you're not consuming less than your daily BMI. It's too simple! ;)
I'm guessing it's the fact that the few calories I am consuming come primarily from food that is ladened with sugar and devoid of an quality protein.

Yes of course. My argument is this:
Consume enough protein and reduce your total intake until desired rate of weight loss is maintained. I guarantee you, body composition will not suffer, regardless of what you eat.
This is common knowledge among scientifically oriented nutritionists.

Staring at the world through my rearview
Just looking back at the world, from another level yaknowhatImean?
Starin...
Multiple gunshots fill the block, the fun stops
Niggaz is callin cops, people shot, nobody stop
I wonder when the world stopped caring last night
Two kids shot while the whole block staring
I will never understand this society, first they try
to murder me, then they lie to me, product of a dying breed
All my homies trying weed, now the little baby's
crazed raised off Hennesey, tell me will my enemies
flee when they see me, believe me
Even Thugs gotta learn to take it easy, listen
Through the intermissions search your heart for a plan
and we turnin Bad Boys to grown men, it's on again
I give a holla to my niggaz in the darkest corners
Roll a perfect blunt, and let me spark it for ya
One love from a thug guy rollin with a posse
full of paranoid drug dealers, to the end my friend
I'm seein nuttin but my dreams comin true
While I'm starin at the world through my rearview (see)
[repeat 2X]
(They got me) starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die (we)
Gettin high, watchin time fly, and all my motherfuckers
[repeat 2X]
[E.D.I.]
Now you see him, now you don't, some niggaz
be here for the moment, and then they gone, what happened to em?
Well let's see, it seems to be a mystery
But all I know I never let the money get to me
Stay down like the, truest
Thug Life until I check out this bitch, I thought you knew this
Who is, gonna catch me when I fall or even care to
While you thinkin I see you lost up in my rearview
Half you, is down with them Outlawz
Outcast, left far, I'm through like southpaws
But still we keep mashin til our dreams come through
Starin at the world through my rearview
[Tupac]
Now I was raised as a young black male
In order to get paid, forced to make crack sales
Caught a guy so they send me to these overpacked jails
In the cell, countin days in this livin black Hell, do you feel me?
Keys to ignition, use at your discretion
Roll with a twelve gauge pump for protection
Niggaz hate me in the section from years of chin checkin
Turn to Smith and Wesson war weapons
Heavenly Father I'm a soldier, I'm gettin hotter
cause the world's gettin colder, baby let me hold ya
Talk to my guns like they fly bitches
All you bustas best to run look at my bitches
Now I know the answers to the question, do dreams come true
Still starin at the world through my rearview (I say)
[repeat 2X]
(They got me) starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly -
and all my motherfuckers/guy can die
[repeat 2X]
[Khadafi]
Back in the days we hustled for sneakers and beepers
Nine-six for glocks cause fiends hittin up blocks with street sweepers
Bless myself when knowin rules to these streets, somethin I learned
in school, on some Million Man March shit for the piece/peace
True that, only one life to lead, a fast life of greed
Criminally addicted, infested since a seed
We all die, breed bleed like humans, towns run
by young guns, Outlawz and truants, shit's deep
Turn eighteen, burn my will when I go
Burnt my body with my shotty, or chosin my dough
So while you reminiscin all nights out with the crew
Smoke a blunt for me too, I'm starin through your rearview
[Tupac]
Hahahaha, you ain't knowin what we mean by starin through the rearview
So since you ain't knowin what we mean let me break down understandin
The world, the world is behind us
Once a guy get an understanding on the game
and what the levels and the rules of the game is
Then the world ain't no trick no more
The world is a game to be played
So now we lookin at the world, from like, behind us
Niggaz know what we gotta do, just gotta put our mind to it and do it
It's all about the papers, money rule the world
Bitches make the world go round
Real niggaz do they wanna do, bitch niggaz do what they can't
Starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly, ya know/and we'll be
[repeat 4X with vocal fade]

Very true, there simply is no scientific definition of the term "junk food", rendering the term completely meaningless.

So we are looking at 38 grams of protein and 680 calories.
30% Calcium
12 % Vitamin A
40 % Iron
4 % Vitamin C
Not bad at all.

Agreed. Unless Mindspin weighed and meticulously tracked his calories it's hard to know how much he was eating. Way more than he thinks most likely.

Dump: I do not dine out all the time as I usually go by a very strict diet that utilizes the gram weight for all food eated 6x/week (very boring food). I was referring to when I want something good with my dining out comment. I need to look buff for my finance-geek meetings.
I still hate making food though. It is the most boring thing I do.

I love all foods.
Also, for your information, the trend now in exquisite food is molecular gastronomy.
The current, "Worlds Greatest Chef", Ferran Adrià of El Bulli, states that he cannot match Fast Food no matter what. He admits that it would be impossible to duplicate a better burger than McDonalds or Burger King in terms of taste/quality.
So hopefully that should make you think twice about fast food.

I'm sure he's talking abount on a mass-produced scale. I'll be cooking up some burgers for friends in a week or so that will better tasting than any dried up piece of meat(s) and bun in a paper box, and I have no especial culinary talents. C'mon TA. Get real.

Oh please. You couldn't walk down to your butchers and get a nice amount of ground beef/sirloin and then prepare a good burger using fresh onions, tomatoes and a slab of Blue/Swiss, etc. cheese? ???
-

Yes.
At the same time, his father had already given him 3500 hours of lessons before the age of 7, and by the time he entered his 20s, the foundation his father had helped him build had grown into a monster.
Mozart would never have been able to absorb the influences of his contemporaries and write out the masterpieces he wrote if it had not been for the training his father gave him, and the tens of thousands of hours of work he put in later.
Later addition: This post reads rather poorly. Must be the sleep deprivation >:(

Don't discount Vienna. It was a serious cultural hub at the time. Still is.
Vienna is cool but has its downsides as well. As for it being a cultural hub, I think you have been staring at 18th century pictures too long. It is a shadow of its former self.

Name studies that show that body weight is not determined by total intake.
Who cares about body weight ??? If I were to guess, you're a 50yr old overweight housewife on a Weight-Watchers diet who steps on the scale every morning ::)
Yes, you can "weigh" less through calorie restricition. But, your body will hold on to fat and burn muscle as your metabolism slows to a crawl. Then, when you go back to "normal" eating, you'll rebound and get even fatter. It's what every dumb fat-ass does every year as they yo-yo diet.
If you want to grow lean muscle mass, then you should understand that protein is as the center of it all...

Very little BBQ culture here as the weather = only suitable for it a few months per year at best. Grilling = not very common here (expect for a few places in the southern parts during the summer), perhaps a few times during the summer for people with own houses or visitors at grill parties. Most people just use disposable grills ;D
You still won't beat the BigTasty burger.
Ps: The dressing makes all the difference. (ps: major subjective opinion alert. Perhaps Debussey has not yet seen "the light", like what happens the first time you visit a really high-end restaurant and get blown away).

No he`s not actually. Heston Blumenthal has said the same thing regarding Fast Food. Now taste is totally objective and I have made MUCH better tasting burgers than I have ever gotten at any restaurant, however it is impossible to have the same cost to quality ratio to speak.
In fact, Blumenthal and Ferran Adrià have just opened Fast Food restaurants using their molecular gastronomy techniques which Mcdonalds and Burger King have pioneered in for years.
With that said, I will post some dramatic burger recipes of my own if anyone is interested. I am a burger connoisseur and have made hundreds and hundreds of different kinds. 8)

BBQ is done over a flame, not on a Foreman grill you knucklehead. Real purists use charcoal briquettes, but most people use propane, as I do. Add good food, company and some good alcohol and you have real heaven here on earth. Philistine! ;D

No.
Matter of taste. But if I make a 85/15 burger with real emmentaler cheese, fresh letuce (not the over-dried shit), fresh Austrian tomatoes, ultra-thin Schinkenspeck and english mustard, you may want to convert to a real burger. :)

I don't work in the supplement industry. I work in the food & beverage industry which includes everything from wine to ice cream.
And, there is a difference in the nutrient value I get from a "junk" meal vs. a "clean" meal. A typical junk meal for me is chocolate cake and coke (practically all sugar, chemicals, artificial everything, high fructose corn syrup, etc.). A clean meal would be grilled salmon served over quinoa/chia seeds and juice blend of acai, acerola, cupuacu & graviola.

Chocolate Cake has artificial ingredients? Huh, thats funny. I made this and didn`t use anything "artificial".
Cake
2 cups stout or dark beer, such as Guinness
2 cups (4 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups Dutch-process cocoa
4 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 large eggs
3/4 cup sour cream
Frosting
1 pound bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Seriously, you don't seem to be the typical redneck/white trash guy from the South? How do you stand it there?

your taste buds are all messed up

Stamey`s Barbecue. The Whitehouse used to fly this stuff in by the buckets. G.W. would make secret visits to NC just for barbecue and to visit the wealthy donors.
George H.W Bush approved.

You have no idea about the land of Furniture, Tobacco and Textile baronies or Research Triangle Park where the elite Medical and Scientific research takes place.
How many cities of 300,000 have a Lamborghini dealership, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maserati and any other luxury item located in walking distance of each other?
You mis characterize North Carolina my friend. It is flourishing.
-
I wouldn't trust very much coming from the Confederacy doc.
LOL. Well, if the purists up here use charcoal briquettes, some of the people down South would be considered artists when it comes to BBQ. Slow cooking for up to 8 hours, dry or wet coatings, closely guarded recipes, etc. This is not something to be scoffed at my friend. It is to be relished and enjoyed. It is truly sensual. :)

More proof of desire for obnoxious english snobbery.

The Triangle, yes, a redeeming feature.

I live right near the Head of the Republican Party finance chairman who was also the finance chair for Palin/McCain.
Bush would come there all the time and even appointed his wife Aldona Wos ambassador to Estonia. It is an 8 million dollar castle, the same Castle where Palin declared where "real america is located". Ironic just a bit. ;)
Here is the really shitty part in my opinion. Louis Dejoy, donates about 50 grand a month to the RNC and in return scooped up military contract after military contract for his company, New Breed Logistics.
-
You are such a doofus ;D
I know ;D
But seriously, the big tasty never did much for me, I don't like the sauce.
I like any whopper over any McD burger.
I like my home made burgers over any whopper.
Just a matter of taste.

How you see that quality in 45 gallon drum BBQ cookery is a mystery that I will leave to the ages. ;)

Agreed. One would think that dining at fine places and such would change ones perception of the qualities of McDonalds/BurgerCock (and it certainly has), but for some reason, the BigTasty burger and the juicy BurgerKing burgers still remains the center of Debussey's burger heart.
Of course, an evening at a very expensive Manhattan restaurant blows any of that shit out of the water (including Dr.Chimps 8 hour coal dances out in the forest).

Deicide, Here is another kicker you might find amusing. Louis Dejoy and Aldona Wos are "La Kosher Nostra". Aldona`s dad was a concentration camp survivor in Poland.
And another kicker.
The previous owner of the Cone Castle, was the Owner of Fortress Re, the company that insured ALL 4 Planes that went down in September 11th. Maurice "Chico" Sabbah and Kenneth Kornfeld were skimming billions off the top of the Japanese as well. Sabbah even built a 100 million dollar elite Hebrew School out of pocket. They too, were La Kosher Nostra. ;)

8 hour coalfests? It sounds more like a bunch of sweaty lardPigs having a sweat-fetish before a fat-gorging meatfest.

It would not surprise me that a guy like G.W. who was raised in Texas would enjoy Southern Barbeque style barbeque like you would see in N.C.
Growing up in Texas he surely ate tons of barbeque but generally Texas barbeque uses alot more beef while the Carolinas tend to use more pork. I know whenever I go into the south/deep south (whatever you want to call it) I tend to get the pork barbeque myself.
However, the assertion TA made about GW making "secret trips" to N.C. just for barbeque is ridiculous of course.

LOL. Well, it must be my obnoxious, English snobbery coming out, but, on the whole, I'd rather hit a good BBQ that some Michelin three-star eatery. ;)

Of course he didn`t come solely for barbecue, but he did come solely to see his Finance Chairman all the time.
