Okay, I gonna start a new thing, a Old Skool Jam for Day. It maybe everyday or for the weekends like this, it's beautiful outside today here in Maryland. You can add to it if you want. I am a slow Jam person, but I will do uptempo...
Here is the first one, this is by Juicy, called "Sugar Free". Rapper AZ sampled it fo his song "Sugar Hill". But the original is the vibe I am feeling right now. Pump this song in your car or on your computer and nod ya head...
I remember this song..I havent heard this shit in years. And AZ sure did sample that shit. Good find.I found this when looking for Jodeci's Come and Talk to me remix
I found this when looking for Jodeci's Come and Talk to me remix
JMentis, you used to jam to Juicy "Sugar Free", damn...
Listening to Johnny Cash's - "God's gonna cut you down" That damn song gets me amp'd!!!Ha, yeah that is a good song. And Mr. Nobody, good song. Doc, the funk is appreciated.
How can a 'man' listen to jodeci !?!?!? LOL, that's like a guy being into sisqo or mariah carey...Well, you listen to this...I was gonna save this for tomorrow, but here is Jodeci's "Come and Talk to Me Remix", and this joint always was blazing...
or ginuwine or usher.. I don't get it..

I added like 200 songs to my ipod after staying up all night finding my old favorites from around 88-95. Cardio flew by the past couple time listening to them, remembering all the great times For any of you who dont know what to say to a girl you wanna get with or to someone you already care about, listen to some r&b from those years.....Amen. I was listening to Surface "Closer Than Just Friends", now that is the JAM!!!!
got some surface on my new play list too, man when i heard these i called this girl that i dated for a long time,14 years ago, she lives half way across the country and has some kids now, but we kinda stayed in touch, i turned it up to where she could hear them and we discussed old times, a couple of these songs made her cry. ... That is music, when it still has passion and feeling comming from it 15-20 years later, man i miss those days, like i said before, wtf has happened to r&b ???R&B and hiphop have spliced, plus the bottom line, then the talent has been watered down. You still have stalwarts like Maxwell, Joe, Chico Debarge, Eric Roberson, Raheem Devaughn, etc.
man i remember listening to joe for the first time while watching dont be a menac while drinking your juice in the hoodAnd that song had two versions, I like the longer one...
Damn, Keef and Lufer in the same thread!Haha. Where I used to work a few yrs ago, I would come in to work overtime during the weekends, and I would have my CDs, all the women would come to my Slow Jamz Enclave...Keef, Lufer, Maxwell, RFTW, you name it, I had it and would play it...and many times I was sending subliminal messages to a certain woman...

What no barry white parker?Im getting to that. Barry had a HUGE catalog...immense. Most songs I play are more intro, when Barry White did his "breakdowns", it was more for those who are in a relationship, it's been said that men say what they think and women say what they feel. Barry in his breakdowns would say what he felt, which lent a more serious tone.

Interesting story about Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes that Teddy P told. Harold was in a different, more luxurious hotel while The Blue Notes stayed in another one. Teddy went up to Harold's room to ask for some money, Harold reached under the mattress and gave him some money. Under that mattress was stacks of money. I believe Teddy split from the group that day!

No, these are Slow Jamz, this genre of music is where I prevail, this is my zone
Sorry man.....please tell me you don't listen to that belly rubbin' music before you hit the gym... ???HELL No! Jay Z, Blackalicious, Common, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, Pharell, Drake, Kanye, Mos Def, J Dilla, Rza, Gza, Ghostface, are for the gym, before, during and after...but, after that I'm in chill mode. I'm just a chill, Slow Jamz type of person. It befits me. Then I go for the Bob Marley, then the Old Skool Cuban music, then Brazilian Bossa Nova...
Az YetThe one in the front was the 5th member of Boyz II Men, and he had a song out called 15 Minutes...
You mean Marc Nelson,Parker.Yep, and let me guess you are referring to the "Missing You" song, correct? I have no idea who used it, possibly Shawn Ray, Phil Hill or Ron Love?
Just realized i made a mistake on the year the Keith Washington song was used,it was the 1991 and not 1989 Olympia.
Parker, you remember Johnny Gill?Yep, the man who got his start with Rob Base with the "Joy and Pain" song. He is from Washington, DC. His song "My, My My" is a classic and is still a great slow jam, timeless. Also his short stint with new Edition, yielded the still classic 'Can You Stand The Rain", which was a good song for me being in Maryland with all the rain. Andother Rain song was Tony, Toni, Toney! "It Never Rains in Southern California"

***sidenote, i have Mark Nelson's single "15 minutes", and he has some other music as well. He is like the Ruscola of Boys II Men, as that he was supposed to be a member, but wasn't (like Ruscola was supposed to be a member of Dru Hill, but ended up being added later on) Yep, the man who got his start with Rob Base with the "Joy and Pain" song. When I was in the military, I met a super fine light skinned sister who dated JG. She had some pics, etc... Remember "Rub you the right way?"Yes, I remember that song, well I guess that takes away the Gay rumors about Johnny Gill, the Sisqo of New Edition.
Yes, I remember that song, well I guess that takes away the Gay rumors about Johnny Gill, the Sisqo of New Edition.
Man, Iwas going to put up from his 1st album, "Kwame The Boy Genius", the song "Sweet Thing", which I believe is the only Hip-hop version of Shaka Khan and Rufus's song "Sweet Thing", that is still a classic.
Old school baby
haha, never heard those, but the girl was just unreal fine.....but maybe she was just his cover?yeah, maybe, he had a prominant lisp when he appeared on Family Matters (decked out in a all purple outfit-jeans and top)

Shaft was da man chimps and a .444 batting average how did you season end up man?Best season in years. Except for the last-tourney 12-hour-drinking-binge which preceded our 2nd game which had us losing badly to a team we could annihilate when sober. Live and learn. Live and learn. ;D

Super/odd tune. Ray Dorset was apparently a really, really creepy/rapey guy. Tune is more like a one-hit wonder than old school, tho.
Take this:

How 'bout this one:Awww shit! You are bringing it...did they have toys in the boxes back then?
Parker how old are you? You seem like you are at least 60 years old.33...I am a old soul...I like old skool music, I love old school music, old jazz like Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway. But, I have a appreciation for classical music because I used to play cello, which I am getting new strings for.

I'm not even talking about your taste in music. Just your whole vibe sounds like some old man.??? Conservative? Because, most people I associate are in their 20s and 30s, and I'm a comic geek...I got Marvel's The Ultimates 3, hardcover sitting in front of me (ink by Joe Mad)
Most music I listen to is from the 60's and 70's.
Some Good stuff in this thread... Love the old Jazz sound mixed in with some rap/hip hop. Guru for sure.all good picks, people don't know, but Bobby Womack has a huge catalog, most people only associate his "If you think your lonely now" song with him
Best Sade Song Hands down is "Cherish the day" think it was already posted
Nina Simone... Sinner man, sampled so many times.. Talib Kweli did a good one.
Bobby Womack - How could you break my heart
Lord Finesse and PB Wolf
I'll end with a beat thats pretty unknown but soulful
Hill St. Soul - Wash Away

Doc, who'd prime between a Prime Four Tops and a Prime (all members) Temptations?Tough question. Guess it comes down to who you like-'like.' There's so much to be said about both. But to me, it's always been The Temptations. No question. Talent, songs, longevity, and probably most important: I came of age listening to all their great tunes: I Wish it Would Rain; Cloud Nine; Ball of Confusion; and especially, Papa Was a Rolling Stone - a masterpiece. No question for me. 'Course, that's just one White Man's opinion. ;D
just ran to this album yesterday. on a huge funk , r&b kick right now. ohio players tonight!Damn fine ManBearPig I forgot Brothers Johnson...

That would be Rob Pilatus in 1998. He couldn't sing worth beans. The other one, Fabrice Morvan, went back to singing in small clubs. He's now attempting a comeback overseas, which includes singing some old Milli Vanilli hits from 20 years back.Is he still lip syncing or really singing?

He lived here in the Netherlands on a boat in Amsterdam. Genetic wise he was the Flex Wheeler of the 7ties- 8ies. IMO he was very underrated on stage, maybe because he was a little shy.

Sounds like BLUR took a few pages out of this guy's book.A lot of britpop bands like Oasis, Supergrass and -yes- Blur got heavily influenced by "dinosaurs" like Ian Dury. It's what typical popmusic should be; love for the music, good lyrics, performing live and have some fucking fun.

Awesome punk song.
The last time I've heard them must be at least 10 years ago, kick ass band :D
Yup. I have a true Rancid story.really, most dudes are just real people. For instance Dru Hill used to work at The Fudgery in Baltimore's Inner Harbor...yet, the dude who cut my hair in college was in a group that could sing just as good as Dru Hill---but they had issues.
Back in 1993 I was walking around SF with a friend, we had mohawks and spiked jacket and I saw Larz, Bret and some other guys on the street. They were sitting outside some deli eating. This was right about the time they blew up with the Let's Go album.
They saw my mowhawk and saw that I was just a kid, so Bret said "Hey come here man".
I was really nervous and intimidated but they were just being cool. Asking me where i'm from, do I play in a band, etc.
Then Larz said "Keep it up with the punk man. See you later." Or something like that, so I left.
Seemed like really guys. But I stopped doing the punk thing a few months later, it was just a short phase
;D
I also met the guys from Green Day in Berkeley in a similar way. But I never really liked Green Day. I thought they were pussies. Bu they seems very cool too.

If Blacks are so "musical", why do they love phony, fabricated "music"?If you are talking about the current state of music..the corp are the ones pushing shit down our throats...and look at Britney, Alei$ha, and Lady Gaga, they are at the forefront of phony music....
If Blacks are so "musical", why do they love phony, fabricated "music"?::)
I don't. I made an observation. Black music, rap and hip-hop is not music. It's computer generated noise. If that computer generated noise has beats, notes..then it's music
I don't. I made an observation. Black music, rap and hip-hop is not music. It's computer generated noise.
I don't. I made an observation. Black music, rap and hip-hop is not music. It's computer generated noise.Yes you do. ::) Your "observation" is based on the fact that the Black race owns your mind. ;)
Jazz has nothing to do with what's being discussed here. Why shouldn't it? You made an utterly nonsensical statement about Blacks and Black music, yet you want to take out the only true art form ever created in American music...that happened to come from the genius of Black American musicianship. What a surprise! ::)

That's what happen in many cases; after a time off period, you're mind is hungry to kick some ass, but your body isn't used to the same volume/intensity you used before. I would suggest some light cardio, like walking for an hour, good foods and plenty of sleep. My back & delts are sore from those negative chins, yesterday.x2 this doesn't belong in this thread btw.But I hate and love DOMS at the sametime.... :D

Back in the day (on school) I hung out with a die hard IM fan. I can't remember a day that he wouldn't wear a IM shirt/sweater. He was quite an outsider, but in my mind he was a cool & funny guy. Those were the days.I was a tough metalhead, you don't see them no more. I saw IM live in Leiden I think in 1986 as a teen.... 8)

Brilliant group.
So true! I have their album ("Avalon") with this song, which was one of the first CDs I've bought. All songs on it are masterpieces, made by dedicated musicians & producers.
My Mother has still got all of their old LP's, brilliant album artwork aswell. Have you seen Bryan Ferry's new wife? Smoking hot.
Bryan Ferry is cool..
Yes, he could be the most stylish & metrosexual getbigger ever, but his gut tells another story.Holy mother of sweet Jesus.....

I'm sure this has to be in here somewhere, but i was just digging some Hendrix, so I'll re-post it.Best Hendrix album ever made ("Band Of Gypsies" Live at the Fillmore East New Years Eve 1970 ).....been listening to it since 1970 and still do at times.
Hendrix at his peak 1970...fucking monumental solo. The crazy opening note is killer
But in my opinion 7:08 to 7:29 is the illest shit a human has ever done with a guitar. and he did it with a wah-wah pedal and an amp...not a fucking bank of signal processors

Nice to see Parker's thread, one of the few solid, long Getbig threads, hit 80 pages. Well done! Always liked this BOC vid, as it is truly spacy; and I think the crazy f*cker is still alive:
Blistering track...size.[5][6] He set historical numbers for highest balloon ascent, highest parachute jump, longest drogue-fall (four minutes), and fastest speed by a human being through the atmosphere.[7] Captain Kittinger was next assigned to the Aerospace Medical Research Laboratories at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. For Project Excelsior (meaning "ever upward"), a name given to the project by Col. Stapp as part of research into high altitude bailouts,[citation needed] he made a series of three extreme altitude parachute jumps from an open gondola carried aloft by large helium balloons.
Yes, the guy is still alive, must be adrenaline

A bit similar like the BOC, Aphex Twin
size.[5][6] He set historical numbers for highest balloon ascent, highest parachute jump, longest drogue-fall (four minutes), and fastest speed by a human being through the atmosphere.[7] Captain Kittinger was next assigned to the Aerospace Medical Research Laboratories at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. For Project Excelsior (meaning "ever upward"), a name given to the project by Col. Stapp as part of research into high altitude bailouts,[citation needed] he made a series of three extreme altitude parachute jumps from an open gondola carried aloft by large helium balloons.Aug 16 my birth date and Elvis's death I get reminded each year. 614 mph no curls for him for 2 weeks.
Kittinger's first high-altitude jump, from about 76,400 feet (23,300 m) on November 16, 1959, was a near-disaster when an equipment malfunction caused him to lose consciousness.[2] The automatic parachute opener in his equipment saved his life. He went into a flat spin at a rotational velocity of about 120 rpm. The g-forces at his extremities have been calculated to be over 22 times the force of gravity, setting another record.[citation needed] On December 11, 1959, he jumped again from about 74,700 feet (22,800 m). For that leap, Kittinger was awarded the A. Leo Stevens Parachute Medal.[citation needed]
Kittinger's record-breaking skydive
On August 16, 1960, he made the final jump from the Excelsior III at 102,800 feet (31,300 m).[2] Towing a small drogue parachute for initial stabilization, he fell for four minutes and 36 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 614 miles per hour (988 km/h)[3][4] before opening his parachute at 18,000 feet (5,500 m). Pressurization for his right glove malfunctioned during the ascent, and his right hand swelled up to twice its normal These are still current USAF records, but were not submitted for aerospace world records to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).[citation needed]
Now, there's a real man's CV.

A pubic hair piece. A toupee for the pubic area/genitals. In the 1700’s when mercury was used to treat sexually transmitted diseases (Gonorrhea or Syphilis) one of the side effects was the loss of pubic hair. To disguise this condition, that was not cured by mercury, a Merkin was employed.http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=merkin
17th Century setting: Due to his treatment of the "French Pox" (syphilis) with mercury a merkin Gwendolyn used a Merkin to used to hide the side effects of hair loss and not alarm her husband.

interesting what you said about the weed thing
The introduction of the 'weed pass' earlier this month in the south of the Netherlands is leading to growing problems. Since 1 May, only Dutch residents are able to purchase soft drugs in coffeeshops. Foreigners are barred.
In protest against the move, many coffeeshops in Maastricht and other southern Dutch cities have closed their doors. So foreign drug tourists and Dutch residents who don’t have a weed pass are heading further north, and this is causing problems for coffeeshops in the weed pass border zone.
In cities in the weed pass area, like the eastern border town of Venlo, growing numbers of illegal drugs dealers are hanging out near coffeeshops. They’re harrassing not only drugs tourists but also local residents. The police say they’re monitoring the situation, but many people say they’re afraid.
The mayor of Maastricht says the weed pass, which will be introduced throughout the country on 1 January 2013, is also having positive effects. According to Mayor Onno Hoes, the residents of his city “can now park their cars in front of their houses. Children can play outside again, and old ladies feel safe when they put their garbage out.”

I hope she didn't gave you a hernia.
The shortest one I hung out with was a 5'4 half-Indonesian. I could pick her up like a doll and I actually did during our 2nd or 3th date ;D
No hernia, LOL. So did did you bang her when you picked her up?
After a few meets. She was a pretty dominant type, so she was pretty out of control when I grabbed her and parked her on my lap. After several glasses of whine and Prince in the background (to keep on topic), she was in the mood to party. Too bad her bed crashed after some positions. She responded with LOLLING, but I was like WTF is this?! ;DHer bed crashed? LOL I guess you went to the floor then?

Excellent tune.
Excellent tune.
now this is the kinda woman that i need ;D
A woman like that would drive me crazy in no time.
"I got a girl who speaks her mind. I got a girl who will argue any time"
so you like catholic girls right ;)
it's kinda funny coz i was telling my mom that i need me a deep and soulful Jewess or maybe a WASP woman, and she said to me... "what are you talking about son? nearly all of your girlfriends have been catholic girls" and the funny thing is, she is right LOL
Haha, I would drive them crazy with my strong opinions. BTW, finding a religious woman over here is like searching for a needle in a haystack.
You might like the image of a religious woman -and so do I- , but can you also have a long term relationship with a woman like that? She might be cute & attractive, but it won't last long when you don't share the same values, at least that's my experience.
damn! Carly really was a little hottie in her day :Pbut today.....holy mother of God..
8)Looks like a light crowd.8) I saw AC/DC some 30 yrs ago as a young teen (my first major concert I think) and again a few yrs ago. Both concert were exactly the same....and that's the way it should be 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Must be cool/fun to have Angus Young as your neighbour....
when I say catholic, jewess or WASP girl, i'm not talking about them practicing thier religion or being "religious" i mean it more in their backround upbringing ie. from a sociological point of view
in my experience jewish girls seem to be more deep and artistic, catholic girls more emotional, and WASP (protestant) girls more career driven ie. prove yourself show me you're a man by being a "winner"
here's the prime example of the typical deep, artistic and soulful Jewess :P
Except for some small orthodox exceptions, Holland can be considered completely atheistic. Many people will state they are "religious", but it's just a luchtballon....
Let's call them the "there exists more between heaven and earth" generation with a Buddha statue in their garden.;D 200% what I mean. "Iets-isme"
;D 200% what I mean. "Iets-isme"
8)
just beautiful 8)Childhood plays a big part of who you become.
and i really got a love/hate relationship with these tunes, coz they really can bring out my tender and romantic side, but i ain't such a fan of this part of me coz it just makes me feel like a weak f@g >:( >:( >:(
yep, i'm a complicated fella
Except for some small orthodox exceptions, Holland can be considered completely atheistic. Many people will state they are "religious", but it's just a luchtballon....
8)
Holland is basically the "beacon of Protestantism" but not in the sense of the true religious sense of it, but more like within the "ideals" of it ie. the "ideals" of individualism, freedom, and the right to choose, if you get my drift?
Holland is basically the "beacon of Protestantism" but not in the sense of the true religious sense of it, but more like within the "ideals" of it ie. the "ideals" of individualism, freedom, and the right to choose, if you get my drift?I get it. The 19th and 20th century Calvinists reallt did not want any government involvement. There was a process of liberalisation againt the state, but also an internal movement into very strict orhodox religion, based on the reformation.
Smooth tune K.

Sensual voice, very nice
yep, and when i hear songs like this i almost want to try this "falling in love" gig...
almost.....
The voice of a female is an important aspect.
The reason(s) why you hesitate is/are worth an investigation (BTW, the same applies to me)
well man, i have a pretty good idea why, and it stems from me being absolutely terrified of "emotional closeness" with a female, and just in case she starts to get too close i either flee like a pussy or say some stupid shit to her to drive her away from me and make her hate my guts
too bad, it can't be just "free and easy" with nice feelings and nice times, kinda like the vibe which this tune seems to put out ;D
just be "free and easy" girl, but alas...
most females ain't gonna put up with that for too long, and they'll most likely want something stronger and deeper...
i have a question for you brother... do you seek to find different females for different parts of you?
for example, i want one girl to be my hot sex toy, and another girl to be my sweet soulmate/friend, and another girl to share some occasional deep and romantic moments with me
yeah man, i'm complicated as fuck lol
Than discuss those feelings of emotional closeness and your desires with a woman(!) I was pretty honest about this with my ex right from the beginning (lesson learned..). I think this is one of the main reasons why many relationships won't survive on the long run; most guys want to be free without obligations/questions and most women want to WORK on friendships/relationships. I've said it before, it's always a little give and take...
That's an interesting question. It sounds very attractive on paper, but -just like polygamy- will it work on the long run? Only when you're able to keep those given intentions separated (I would prob fuck them all and not only once) and when you're not a jealous person by nature, since it's not realistic that these women don't have relations with other men.
i do man, and at first she's cool with the terms of our relationship, but after awhile she changes her tune and wants something "stronger and more involved"... guess that it just must be my romantic charm :P but i know that i'm a fucking handful and all, being the Wild Horse that i am lol
i think that Christie may have seen me in her minds eye when she penned these lyics
"your mood is like a circus wheel, you change it all the time, sometimes i can't help but feel that i'm wasting all of my time"
You see, that's the "work" part I was talking about, its in their genes. You're a blessed person when you find 2-3 women who can deal with this desire on the long run. You will prob have better chances with older women, they are better capable to rely on themselves, emotionally & financially, and have the necessary confidence.
I don't know you in person, but I think you need more inner peace (just like me BTW, LOL), and a good woman (yes, just one) might help ;)

I don't know you in person, but I think you need more inner peace (just like me BTW, LOL), and a good woman (yes, just one) might help ;)
actually man, i think that younger women are better suited for me, since they usually aren't so serious and aren't looking for such a heavy involvement generally speaking
and yeah, you're probably right about finding all these traits within one woman, but then if i do so i won't be able to be this wild and free Wild Horse ;D although my therpist tells me that this Wild Horse really isn't so free since he is caught within his own trap :-\
"she is like a cat in the dark, and then she is the darkness" mmmmm... SO HOT :P maybe you can tell me where i can find her? ;D
btw man, i've got a new female student and today is her 1st lesson with me, so do you think that i should wear my "Shake your ass for Me" t-shirt ;D
Don't we all think that young women are better suited ;D
But imagine yourself with that "modern harem". How would you deal with mood swings? Let's say you're with your platonic partner, and not she but YOU want some more? (yes, I've been in situations like these, makes you wanna fly away, LOL) This can make things very complicated & confusing.
Yes, your therapist was dead right.
After all, control over your mind is everything, esp in these circumstances.
It's always a good idea to start with some entertainment, just to break the ice.
Don't forget to make a picture if she's "team great face & ass" approved 8)
that's a good question man, i had a really good friend/soulmate a few years back, and i remember me, her and a few friends of mine all meeting up together and my friends pulled me aside and said "dude, can't you see that she REALLY likes you?" and maybe i could, but i just choose to try and ignore it...
here's me with regards to the vast majority of females :P
lol
it's kinda funny, coz i told Mr. N about this new student and he asked me "what if she's a fat pig?" and i told him "man, stop thinking like an american with this idea that most women are fatasses like a big percentage of american girls ie. 40% of american chicks are fatassses, while less than 10% of Polkas are fatasses" ;D
anyways, if she's team great face and ass approved, i'll let ya know ;D
And what happened to her (getting a crush) can happen to you some day... You can have certain intentions in the beginning of a friendship/relation, but will they remain the same?
You told me also about that female student ;)
Any updates on this matter? :D
yep, we had the 1st lesson today, and she wasn't a "fat pig" but she wasn't really my type either :-\
i got a call from another new female student and she sounds like she may be a hottie, and she even flirted with me a bit during the call :P
p.s. Huey was a handsome guy, and yeah man, i'm a jealous b!tch about it lol
The EggBeen to Venice a cool place with alot strange people.
Been to Venice a cool place with alot strange people.
Another place that's on my list, I love weird folks.Yes I trained with him, it took about 3 days to recover a short but heavy training session. Then we talked outside while he smoked a cig a very interesting and smart person. He died I think at 49 his brother Ray died the next day a sad story.
So you did a training session with Mike Mentzer? How long did it took to recover?
not ashamed to say that this song just makes me want to dance :PWhy are not dancing dawg?
Why are not dancing dawg?
Dancing is a gayish act, but it's also a proven pussy pulling technique, quite a dilemma :-\
lol
agreed man, agreed
so would this tune be considered a dance-able tune :P
and remember... "we're only human after all"
women >:( >:( >:(
The great Tito would say something like "it's never too late to try a cock"
lol
yeah, he does raise a valid point there, but then i hear tunes like this and they just make me not wanna give up on the female species ;)
like this awesome lyric.... "and I guess it's just the woman in you, that brings out the man in me" HOT :P :P :P
It's funny, I know most artists you post, but I hear songs I've never heard or can't remember.
My morning started bad, female specie wise. The first one I saw, was a chubby trailer trash like security guard with a minefield face who talked and acted in slow motion. And the second one was one the phone with a monotone/nasal smokers voice who came with a lame miscommunication excuse regarding an appointment. Damn bitches :-\
Dancing is a gayish act, but it's also a proven pussy pulling technique, quite a dilemma :-\Quite true, John Travolta Saturday Night Fever.

Funny thought, but the sad thing is that most chicks listen/dance to/on Rihanna, Lady Blahblah and other gayish shit. Most of them are brainwashed by the music bizz, their "hip" friends and most clubs :-\
a song for you DP my brother, i've got a feeling that you'd be quite in tune with it's message ;)

Fixed for display, rapping the city you got to have some of that in the mix of all music.
8) Rap night.
I still remember that tanned Getbigger with his camo outfit in my childhood, who drove a huge pickup truck with monster wheels. Dude was living the dream.Did did that tanned Getbigger influence you later in life? Childhood always carries over to adulthood I bet you like big trucks.
Smooth, something about a woman and a cigarette is sensual.
Did did that tanned Getbigger influence you later in life? Childhood always carries over to adulthood I bet you like big trucks.
No, not that much since he was like a very offseason Branch Warren. But he was different from the rest, just like that truck. So seems the truck did influence you, Branch seems as a blue collar down to earth person good natured however I don't like his physique.
I like cool cars & trucks, esp Americans, but I don't visit expos or specific sites.
So seems the truck did influence you, Branch seems as a blue collar down to earth person good natured however I don't like his physique.

Here's my VH favExcellent find I forgot about that one.
As a kid I dreamed of riding a big truck some day, but now I don't care so much. Branch is a humble & hardworking guy, I can appreciate those qualities.Branch has the heart and desire, but the short man's syndrome, hence a big truck and a big physique to overcome short comings in life. Most people start training with with weights to overcome a poor self esteem.
Here's Linkin Park with No more sorrow
This song says alot, so how many lost money on the Overeem fight tonight millions I bet.

100% agree with this.Interesting the mirror doesn't lie. Mine was seeing Arnold on the cover of a magazine being 6'2" myself as Arnold I said that's what I want to look like but never quite made it to that level but won a few BB contests.
I were a skinny <155 pound/6ft kid and I saw my silhouette some day in the mirror of a swimming pool, that's what motivated me ;D
Interesting the mirror doesn't lie. Mine was seeing Arnold on the cover of a magazine being 6'2" myself as Arnold I said that's what I want to look like but never quite made it to that level but won a few BB contests.
Well, Arnold was also one of my triggers. I were at the age of 11-12 and saw a very short shot of Conan on the TV, just a few seconds. I've never saw or heard of him before, so I were like "I wanna look like that super human".
True, the mirror doesn't lie, but what you see it not always what others see. After a few years under the iron, folks told me that I looked good, but shouldn't get bigger, but of course, I wasn't satisfied at all myself ;)

On the tune there funny how Diana was involved with Michael Jackson which had no muscle.

This music video, accompanied with the song called "Astral Projection" by Tom Middleton, introduces Fall in Peak Escape.
Peak Escape is a unique window into the unspoiled, nature allure of the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, which are among the oldest mountains in the world. The cyclical story of the seasons features the most comprehensive footage ever captured of the region.
Shot entirely in HD, Peak Escape changes your perspective with sounds of nature and music by Tom Middleton, Briza, and Secede presented in Dolby 5.1 Digital surround sound.

The vid contains samples of "They Call It All-States", a documentary of a kids sumer camp.Jumping out of plane scares the hell out of me. I have flown all over the world but a crash or having to jump a different story, the second video not sure I understand.
Vids like these are typical for The Boards of Canada.

Imagine the excitement of stepping into a rocket, starting it's gigantic engines and leaving mother earth... W-O-W......Yea as a kid I always wanted to get in a rocket to space but was afraid of not making it back. Now I wouldn't give a damn about getting back either way...
Yea as a kid I always wanted to get in a rocket to space but was afraid of not making it back. Now I wouldn't give a damn about getting back either way...
I had a similar feeling during my last flight. We had some serious turbulence. First I thought: "the engines might fall out, we take a dive, say out last words, breathe our last breaths, and then we'll crash, fuuuuuuck", but later: "well, if it happens, it just happens and that's how it is... have peace with it.."Yea if you are in a aircraft you are at mechanical mercy, I have flown alot as you say I thought many times if this thing goes down it just does nothing I can do. Disturbed a good band.

1. Appreciation.
This is the first and most fundamental happiness tool. Appreciation is the purest, strongest form of love. It is the outward-bound kind of love that asks for nothing and gives everything. Research now shows that it is physiologically impossible to be in a state of appreciation and a state of fear at the same time. Thus, appreciation is the antidote to fear.
From the "Six Tools for Happiness"

Very good if in fear most can't do anything but overcome it no time for appreciation of anything.
Yes, and to overcome it can be a serious struggle...I think number 2 Choice is most important to humans. Of course when born we only have so many choices otherwise it's already set.

Here's a 'Heart Sūtra' in Sanskrit language, which literally means "The Heart of the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom", enjoy..Relaxing seems as Hindu.
Relaxing seems as Hindu.
But not 'relaxing' to sing ;D During my Zen teachings we try to sing this sutra in Japanese. because of its fast tempo, it's a good exercise in focus & breathing.I have studied a bit of Zen, "the sound of one hand clapping" one of the things I remember most. Breathing is the key to all meditations.
Here are a few lines,
KAN JI ZAI BO SA GYO JIN
HAN NYA HA RA MI TA JI
SHO KEN KU ON KAI KU DO
IS SAI KU YAKU SHA RI SHI
SHIKI FU I KU KU FU I SHIKI
...
I have studied a bit of Zen, "the sound of one hand clapping" one of the things I remember most. Breathing is the key to all meditations.
I presume that hand clapping was a practice in feeling the vibrations? This is a good body awareness test; "where do you hear/feel those vibrations?".I think the one hand clapping represents turning off thoughts letting the subconsious thoughts come through meditation as you know is about watching thoughts but not reacting to them and the breath of course. I might give that a try but dont understand the language.
Yes, breathing plays a big role in meditation for two important reasons, to get in touch with your body (your self!) and to filter out distracting thoughts. It takes time to get -more- control over your mind, it's far from easy.

In geology, a rock is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. For example, the common rock, granite, is a combination of the quartz, feldspar and biotite minerals. The Earth's outer solid layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock.Interesting I guess why Stonehenge is still standing.
Rocks have been used by mankind throughout history. From the Stone Age rocks have been used for tools. The minerals and metals we find in rocks have been essential to human civilization.

Thats kind of a mixed beat smooth at first picks up in the middle and back smooth. How are the meditations going ?
Thanks for asking, got a nice compliment from my teacher. He observed my posture, during a zazen session (seated meditation), and told me that I made progress. I find it pretty hard to sit for 20 minutes at home, so I time it to 10 minutes, still work in progress ;)I used to meditated for 3 years, now I use just to go to sleep not being a good sleeper, in today's world it's very difficult to control your thoughts rising up from the subconcious. I think this is why many spirtual buhddists retreat to rural areas for peace away from society. I need to get back to it but it is a discipline must as training with weights you have to want to do it. I used to do 30 minutes in the morning then after work 30 minutes it's very insightful. But yes I still meditate before sleep.
Do you practise meditation/yoga/mindfulness/etc yourself, or have you ever done it/tried it? :)

That small square (on that large pic) is one of the nicest places of my town, an intimate place.Looks nice is this ongoing or a annual event?
this tune is nice, but it causes such mixed emotions in me... brutal!!!I was married once, never again that song brings back memories. Yea a bit scary.

It was an annual international cultural festival up to 2011. I think the recession made it impossible to continue, don't know.Seems as a bit like the Autumn Leaves Festival in my home town Mayberry but with a little more but the the one in Mayberry has more rednecks.

LA is on my wishlist, but not for the alcohol, drugs & parties, like Francis Dunnery, but just to observe, drink black coffee, enjoy the sun and a visit to Venice.I trained with Mentzer in Venice, at Golds. A smart individual. Venice beach is just alot people mostly artists and musicians trying to make a dollar. Observation is a key to life.

Decent song. Mike was a very intelligent, talented and misunderstood person. May he and his brother rest in peace.. I'm happy for you that you had the chance to meet him. :)A very pretty girl but a sad person as well and she is looking around at aging people thinking how long will it be before I am "in there shoes".
No matter where you are, most folks try to make a buck or are spoiled tourists. I try to keep a certain distance from these categories.

I had a hypersensitive girlfriend once, with a strong fear of the dead. As a result, she avoided eye contact with elderly people.I don't at look them either. Reason it reminds a person of impending death as growing older.

AFAIK, it's pure fiction. The work is called 'Back to the great city' by Grivetart, see http://grivetart.deviantart.com/art/Back-to-the-great-city-290440347Good stuff seems if that is the France Alps? You seem as a right brained person ie Artistic true?

Could be the Alps, since the following vid shows how he creates a city scenery.I like music too, thats why I post here. I can't play any kind of instrument I am left brained mathematical so I assume I'm trying to balance it out. Now my Mom can play the piano and has never been trained on it kinda strange.
Not sure if I'm right brained, but I can be creative with things like programming & language.
Just like music, I can appreciate all kinds of art forms, from paintings to sculptures and from movies to bodybuilding, LOL

I've once met a person, who told me that he didn't like music at all. I can appreciate the silence and nature sounds as well, but only this? Pretty hard to imagine...Genes rule about everything.
Nothing wrong with seeking new challenges, but in general, I believe that you are who you are, and being good in math is a true contribution to society.
I went backstage during the break of this band (my dad knew a few of their members) and we've found out that several band members had never learned a note, the rhythm was simply in their Brazilian genes.
Relax and enjoy.Nice. I am going to have a couple of shots of Vodka now just got off fixing some computers.

After almost 3 months of struggling, the devotion is kicking in, I sit still with more ease and my breaths feel deeper. I'm still on a long journey, but I experience progression.
Yes it's much as training the body but more difficult to harness the mind, most people never do.

Annie looks pretty damn good there, i must admit
is she a Jewess ???
I don't know, who fucking cares? :)
many people care actually, and that's just human nature
and maybe it shouldn't be that way, but it is
Don't call that human nature, call it narrow mindness / delusional pride / epic insecurity. This becomes more and more a thing of the past, since we're all connected somehow, thanks to things like globalization, the internet and the fall of religions in general.Good post.
At the end, people are people, we all have our strong & weak points, no matter our ethnicity, religion, sexual preference or whatever.
Good post.
Thank you, I had to say this, because I hate this stigmatize thing. When we look at others, we tend to focus on differences, not similarities. For some reason, we're programmed to do so.
Congratulations with your 30,000th post, you're becoming immortal 8)

Congratulations with your 30,000th post, you're becoming immortal 8)
but the thing is, if i told some of my polish friends here that my dutch bodybuilder friend is coming for a visit then they would immediately judge you for being dutch and for being a bodybuilder
and i bet if you told many dutch people that some polak is coming over there, they would have plenty of judgemental thoughts in their heads regarding this polak
p.s. advertising and the media have ALOT to do with this shit man so you are wrong when you say that the information age is making this situation for the better IMO
It depends on what kind of friends you have, are they narrow-minded / prejudiced or open-minded? What says being Dutch or being a bodybuilder about someones identity?
Many Dutch folks don't like people from Poland because as immigrant they do the same work for less money and many of them have problems with alcohol. I can't deny that reputation, but is this a reason for me to avoid contact with them? No, I've met plenty of good folks from Poland. I judge people on their personality, not their background, simple is that. Thanks to the information age, everything becomes more mixed and more connected. Don't get me wrong, it's still work in progress..
I will never reach the status of 240 or 333386 on post counts. A bunch of fat asses in this video.

That's insane, but I can easily write a script to post random quotes from Charles Bukowski and William S Burroughs ;DCharles knows the deal. Hilarious video right there.
:)Seals and C a solid band.
actually man, my friends are very educated and they have decent jobs
and this "bodybuilder" jundgement thing isn't just with polaks, americans do this shit as well
in fact, my uncles who are americans as am i, call bodybuilders "pussy/fags" who can't/don't play real sports ie. baseball, basketball, boxing
and don't even ask me what the majority of women think when they hear "bodybuilder" LOL!
in fact, i was in the pub a few weeks back with a friend and a few of his "educated and classy" female friends and a "bodybuilder" walked by our table and these females snickered at him and talked a load of shit about him >:(

I love Cake, and their videos as wellA hilarious video right there. :D

Good info. So a Aries you are, they have a amazing ability to bounce back from down times one of the strongest personalities in the Zodiac.
"M.C. Hammer was arrested on February 21, 2013 in Dublin, California for allegedly obstructing an officer in the performance of their duties and resisting an officer (according to "stop and identify" statutes). Hammer claims he was a victim of racial profiling by the police, stating an officer pulled out his gun and randomly asked him: "Are you on parole or probation?" Hammer stated that as he handed over his ID, the officer reached inside the car and tried to pull him out. Police in Dublin, east of Oakland, said Hammer was 'blasting music' in a vehicle with expired registration and he was not the registered owner. "After asking Hammer who the registered owner was, he became very argumentative and refused to answer the officer's questions," police spokesman Herb Walters typed in an e-mail to CNN. Hammer was booked and released from Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. A court date was scheduled and police had until then to decide on pressing any charges, however, all were dropped in early March. Hammer tweeted that he wasn't bitter and considered what happened "a teachable moment." "

Through the 'recovery' may take some time. Strong personality for sure, no need to hide things, but I try to be more modest ;)Yep the astrology personality signs are true day to day horoscopes is bullshit. Leo I am a leader as the lion is king of the jungle but not boasting about that, I have never had any help in my life always had to do things on my own so just lucky I have had the strength.
So, what's your constellation, and is there some truth in its description?

Those daily horoscopes in the paper are very, very general, so they can apply to anyone, but they're good entertainment compared with most news.Great green bowtie right there.
So you're born in the summer, no wonder you're a tall guy. I will meet a female Leo tomorrow, so wish me luck ;D
Good lyrics.
"i keep your picture upon the wall, it hides a messy stain that lying there, so don't you ask me to give it back, i know you know it doesn't mean that much to me"Seems like some stained panties hanging on the wall.

I've once saw these Finnish krautrockers live. Their frontman looked a bit like Neil from a distance.I see that.
"it's important to me, that you know you are free" :)
todd and i are 2 of a kind, modern day troubadours stuck within this crappy modern day world :'(
Find your place in this modern world. There are only now-moments, the past is done.
but what's this mean exactly?
it's a pretty vague statement man
btw, a very dear ladyfriend asked me a rather hard question the other day, and she said something like...
"answer this honestly and be man enough to have the courage to answer it with all your honestly"
whew man! that was rough
you know me with my temporary charm and she knows it too, and she rather sees through my bullshit from time to time ;D
You should thank that woman for being honest. Confrontation is like heavy weight, it will make you grow/get stronger, unless you walk away from it. Sometimes it's good to talk to a woman, like you talk to a man. Just tell it like it is, in just a few words.
Regarding that 'vague statement', do you refer to finding your place? Life in the now, not the past. None of them is 'better' than the other.
i do thank her, but we have a long and difficult past so it's not easy
but i did answer her as best and honest as i could, although i couldn't answer all of it since i don't know for sure myself part of that answer :-\
Refreshing electroclashGood tune.

"Het dronken & zingende paard van Den Haag"She can sing for sure but she's borderline in het kwadraat, she's even worse than my wife.....
It would be terrible for Mr Nobody if she was his wifey
She can sing for sure but she's borderline in het kwadraat, she's even worse than my wife.....
"Can she sing or not?" That's the same discussion as with Madonna or Lady blabla...She dropped the rapper I think. But I sure think she can sing waaaaaay better than lady gaga, and even more better than Madonna (but that´s not too difficult)
To me, her music is as plain as a Vinex house.
It's just a woman with a big mouth, no wonder she hangs out with rappers.
She dropped the rapper I think. But I sure think she can sing waaaaaay better than lady gaga, and even more better than Madonna (but that´s not too difficult)
First she was with that rapper from the Postmen (Pepijn nogwat), the father of her children, and later that Dox dude, who fucked all her female friends, including the nanny. What a boss, haha!I admire Madonna very very much, not my kinda music, but she had/has the balls....
I love Madonna, not the best vocals but a strong & versatile woman.

Some spacey / trippy beats..This one put me in a trance like state for some reason.
Correct. One of my dad's exes looked pretty much like her.Laura Figi is one of the rare girl-boob-group girl that could actually sing. Same as Angela Groothuizen, the only one of the Dollt Dots that could really sing....I visited Angela and the Rude once, years ago. She was really a very good singer, it amazed me..

I was surprised to see/hear Laura's switch from semi-erotic pop songs to jazz, more versatile than I expected. Before the DD she in a hardrock group, and later on she recorded some stuff too until she got into the Idols/popstar shit. Friend of mine is a friend of hers, she's really nice and cool and exactly the way she appears on tv. So she is not fake. I hate people being fake..

Or watching the world with a kaleidoscope.. I loved them as a kid.Never heard much of that band all I know is a kaleidoscope is a collection of different colors and mirrors so the strange effect.
Never heard much of that band all I know is a kaleidoscope is a collection of different colors and mirrors so the strange effect.
What you describe, is what you see through a kaleidoscope. It's an instrument with a pretty complex design. As a kid I bet interesting to look through.
"A Kaleidoscope operates on the principle of multiple reflection, where several mirrors are placed at an angle to one another, usually 60°. Typically there are three rectangular mirrors. Setting the mirrors at a 60°so that they form a triangle. The 60° angle creates seven duplicate images of the objects, five at 60°, and 2 at 90°. As the tube is rotated, the tumbling of the coloured objects presents varying colours and patterns. Arbitrary patterns shows up as a beautiful symmetrical pattern created by the reflections. A two-mirror kaleidoscope yields a pattern or patterns isolated against a solid black background, while the three-mirror (closed triangle) type yields a pattern that fills the entire field." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaleidoscope
As a kid, I had simplified one like this, made of carton.

I've never heard this one from Dylan before, thanks for the discovery :)
One of his best :)Agreed. It kind of rattles you a bit no doubt.
It represents what I love about him and incidentally Van; the little hesitations, the variety in their voice that helps put across an emotion. Both genius
Check out Van's rehearsal for The Last Waltz, absolute beast

Well said!Yes the nights bring peace away from the world of most of the nonsense we endure during day hours. I had a friend once he said his parents would only go out at night I didn't understand then but do know. Listen to your thoughts on the walks don't hold on to them just listen. Good tune.
I used to listen to their works during my night walks, moments of inner peace...

One thing is true.
Just one thing.
This song is a trojan.
It becomes a part of you.
It controls your mind.
But you allow it.
And it feels right.
Because it is right.
You want action.
You're attracted to the big things.
Nice and mellow...

Romantic times, are they gone forever?..Yes it's over women just want money now. Grandpa lived to be 100, Grandma 96 they just took care of each other.
Yes it's over women just want money now. Grandpa lived to be 100, Grandma 96 they just took care of each other.
Stop making more money than you need for everyday expenses. I believe that's better for your health and happyness, plus it keeps golddiggers out of your life.Good post. Most women are going to run elsewhere if the money goes away not all of them, some are good but difficult to find now days.
People who take care of each other... you said it right! These days, people care more about themselves, a little too much, and I believe that I'm no better than that :-\ Why is that, because we've lost trust in others?
Good post. Most women are going to run elsewhere if the money goes away not all of them, some are good but difficult to find now days.
After we've seen her sparking eyes, nice smile, good ass, great legs, etc.. we should investigate the following:I like this you never see a person's face so you can only imagine and a chill tune as well.

Can't go wrong with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder together on vocals...
Can't go wrong with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder together on vocals...
Yep, perfect vocal match!
To me, that record was Cornell at his absolute best.
He was pretty badass in this song as well. Grunge was -IMO- one of the few musical light points in the nineties.
Agree, but I think the label "Grunge" kinda marginalizes it. Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana ... shit, it's just bad ass rock n roll to me.
After that period, rock was never the same. I mean there was a few good records popping up here and there but that was the last good era for rock music imo.
8)
:D
Makes me want to sell my Guitar ;D
They covered Aerosmith's Mama Kin as well.

Good tune Tbombs you doing ok, when is next court date?aint it?
[Chorus]
Holy are you
Holy are you
There is no God but you (ah huh)
There is no God but you
(I need to talk to yall for a minute)
Praised be the Lord
(And be serious for a minute)
Holy are you
Holy are you
There is no God but you
There is no God but you (Rakim Allah)
G-O-D, the God MC
Yeah
For those who find it hard to believe, and it is
Why they call me the God MC, the lyricist
Trace this down to the roots from Genesis
The world wonder, Im still standing like pyramids
Design so vivid, every brick it got a story to tell
My rhyme flow different like a hieroglyphic
Mind prolific, infinite, like mathematic
The first language, now add that, and add graphics (Go head)
Then go let the blocks know its the gospel
Lifes new manual, so watch close
The new Michaelangelo and Pablo Picasso
Prepared to show you the cosmos and rock flows
Even my lyrical metaphysical
What this will do is help you get to your spiritual pinnacle
You find your mind too far-fetched for it to fathom
I bring the darkness to the light, split the atom
Its like watching the big bang theory emerge
I take titles, bond them to reveal new words
They want a clear view
From the farthest and the darkest corners of the universe
To a corner near you
A pharaoh in ghetto apparel, stay blinged up
Fort Knox display, a modern day King Tut
Wrapped tight, rap like Ive been preserved in time
Spit the holy water, then touch it and turn it to wine
Its the God
Holy are you
Holy are you
There is no God but you (I am, I am the Alpha and Omega)
There is no God but you
Praised be the Lord
We were children of the most high, so we fell
From paradise to holy hell
Probably descendants of the Holy Grail
Another part of history they wont reveal
Timesll only tell
You waiting for Judgment? It came
In the form of a thug in the game
To create a strong position, theres blood in my vein
The chemical is identical, we one and the same
With seven letters in all three of my government names
Walk on water? Nah, neither did Jesus
Its a parable to make followers and readers believers
From Egypt to Budapest, Rakim is the truest left
Understand the Scriptures like the minister Louis F
I told you who God is, you ignored me like most the prophets
Jesus, Solomon, Abraham, Moses and Muhammad
I showed the scholars, well fulfill the broken promise
I spit this truth to predict the future like Nostradamus
Like Revelations, Im hoping my quotes reveal
The seven spirits of God when I open the seal
Interpret the holy Quran, these flows will guide you
Translate the Torah, and decode the Bible
Warn the elders in the mosques, masons, and the law
The seven churches, the synagogues, its the Renaissance
Skin is bronze, like the Messiah
Rakim Allahs bout to reveal a bigger secret than time and the God
Holy are you
Holy are you
There is no God but you (I want to challenge you)
There is no God but you (and soon I will challenge you)
Praised be the Lord (I am, I am the Alpha and Omega)
Rakim Allah The God MC
Peace

I've experienced that Youtube is better for listening than watching.yea, I have listened to more than ive watched. Free music. Although I watched The Passion of The Christ a week ago and some Bill Cosby stand up routines the past two nights. Today I found the MLB channel which has something like 28,000 uploads - game highlights uploaded a day or two after the live showing.
