no connection between how much you can squat or lift and muscle volume! ,, actualy to put it in beter way the connection is to a point ,,it goes hand in hand until it stops and then nothing you wil do strength wize will be able to increase your muscle diameter aside for MORE HORMONES,, so the little fellas who squat on 1/2 of the doses im talkin about not 1/10 but 1/2 since everyone juice and a lot....those fellas dont grow the muscle diameter ...they get their tendoins to be impressive lol

you wont get bigger muscle from squating heavier! or lifting heavier!,, heavy lifting has a lot to do with the tendoin and with the bone strength,,
at the beggining of your lifting first few years the strangth will be paralel to muscle diameter growth ,, then after those few years....it will come to a stop and ONLY increasing the dose and changing the products and working it all together will MAYBE result in bigger diameter to the muscle ...depending if youre maxed from hormones or not

Thanks...I agree with that. Genetics and training plays a huge role, more so than hormones. I remember Levrone at his best had huge, detailed legs then a year or two later they were undersized and no where near what they used to be. You're correct about squatting heavier (and I'm assuming with lower reps). Volume training has always been king when it comes to training + "hormones".....even without the "hormones".

i have to disagree with you gh15. i think some guys are simply not built for squatting...long legs ect but i think if you can squat without pain or injury you should. it hits the whole lower body. you sometimes even tell..especially on a local level who squats and who doesn't..perhaps it because they are not on as many or as much drugs...don;t know.
dorain said he stopped doing barbel squats because of his long legs he wasn't built for them..he felt the leg press and hacks were more benefical for growth for HIS body..but he said if you are able that you should do them

smith machine is good if you load heavy weight and want to be more safe...barbel squats should hae spotter,,but in general im tellin you thiis again and again squats BUILD THE FUCKIN ASS,, hack squats is what you want,, and yes it is height dependent,, taller fellas hacks for sure,, shorter ones can do both squats and hacks

I have moved on to a new gym for holidays, and they dont have the "hardcore" squat rack. But I noticed they have a very good smith machine...so i will stick to it for 2 months..
p.s before leg training i always inject both quads. :D ;D ;)

LOL...I didn't say they didn't help in size, I said they would eventually fuck up your knees. See, this is the problem with bodybuilding and it's training, 90% know nothing about training and could careless how it fucks up joints as long as they get big. Here's a little fact son...........you can't squat, do hacks or even play on your little machines if you compete and your knees are jacked up. Just to add about Milos....his knees are fucked. (and not because he's in jail.)

Only if you're wreckless. Hacks almost promote bouncing at the bottom and that will kill your knees doing it often enough and heavy enough. Go slow and controlled.

That too, but just sheer force from the femur coming off the tibia on an angled plain (45 degrees depending on the machine) creating more force on the patella tendon. Remember the patella is a sesamoid or "floating" bone.

225 - 27 reps at about 155 pounds bodyweight
275 - 20 about 165 pounds bodyweight
315 - 2 sets of 10 reps at about 165 pounds bodyweight
370 - for a triple at about 165 pounds bodyweight
405 - 1 rep max at about 165 pounds bodyweight
All done slightly below paralell................ ...........result,zero quad size and a fucked up lower back!!
My legs don`t grow for shit, but look better now with me doing mostly leg presses or unilateral leg presses......still my worst bodypart and I train them hard as hell.
We don`t have a hack machine at our gym (on a college campus......only gym in town),but heavy hacks are what originally fucked up my back..........but I was ego training and I do love hacks as a quad movement if you have a good machine that lessens the pressure on the knees.
Some older model hack machines are just knee wreckers..........PERIOD . :(

and i can confirm that squats don t work for me as good as for shorter guy s
maybe squats aren t needed for any bodytype to get full leg development
i squated for over a decade - because i wanted to be a "strong bb" (fuck)- but have totally stoped now and wont do them again
i think leg press and lunges are best for legs
i can also say that hacks are relatively stressfull for my knees, so i don t do them
also i do not do less than 10-12 reps for legs, most sets are around 12-15 sometimes 25
getting the blood in the muscle is key

have any of you used the horizontal type hacks, the ones with the weight stack at the side, and the foot platform vetical?... for me this was a pure quad exersize, totaly knee pain free, only problem is the stacks are usualy too light when you get used to them...
we used to do 20 to 30 rep sets to finish quads off, huge squeezes, a slight pause at the bottom of the descent , brutal pumps!!!!

All machines and light weight baby!! (oh and lots of hormones).
I said it before and i say it again: A bodybuilder only has to LOOK like he can lift lots of weight, if you can grow on a pink dumbell, all the better for you. Only go as heavy as you have to to keep growing, NEVER max out on your lifts, it's just an ego and injuries waiting to happen.
When you're on stage, nobody will ask how much you bench, and most people that ask you don't have a clue about lifting and a cousin that benches more than you anyways.

I think I read it back in the late 90s in Ironman - pretty sure it was with chick on the cover - I'll dig it out and see, I pretty much have been following chicks advice since reading that article other than squats as they work for me but I keep my reps above 10 and go as heavy as I can as long as I get over 10 reps.

I still do deadlifts (just started them again recently after years of not doing them) as they really seem to be helping my fucked up back...........gotta` go slow and easy though,my back injury is like a time bomb just waiting to be set off.

Deadlifts not for bodybuilders,it's for powerlifters.
Now i doing smith-machine squats only since knee accident 2 years ago.

i messed up my knees squating improperly the first few years i trained,corrected the problem and now no longer bothers my knees,i will always squat,but do agree hacks are better for quad developement.

True for all excerises but definitely more so with squats. GH15 is generally right though... break down the muscle tissue (however you choose really), eat lots of food, and take all the necessary hormones... Then you will grow

cialis should work fine,,so id follow what grant suggested.
about the test thing,,yes you can change,,i always prefer one ester over combo of esters,,simply because blood levels will be easier to keep stable.
when ever i do sust or omna i inject an amp/day,,,,when ever i inject one long ester test i inject it twice a week which make it a lot easier and a lot more time effective.
romania is known for fakes when it comes to amps so make sure you got the real deal,,,if you inject 750 mg of test and still cant get it on to f**k a hot (or ugly Wink) chic,,,,then try to use less anti estrogens,,people count too much on anti estrogens and it fucks up their sex life because estrogen is important too,,
also if this dont work get in some proviron,,,proviron will make the softest noodle hard and functionable,,,infact proviron is better than viagra and cialis in my opinion,,but this is my opinion.
if none of the above help,,,then the problem is in the head or is more serious and needed medical attention from a doc.

I've been natural all my training life. i made excellent progress when i was a teenager through 21. I had nothing to do but train, eat, sleep. This GH15 guy talks so much shit about GH and what not i'd like to punch him in the face to see if he shits GH.
I've experienced great gains simply eating clean, slowly increasing weights by as little as possible. At my biggest i never ever did below 5reps. I was benching 335, squatting 515x15 (paralell) and deadlifting 500. Nothing like the monsters in here, but it was great for me. Being much older now i can't get my diet like i should because i'm only working out to stay in shape, not competing. I now for a fact that there is a direct correlation between strength and size.
Of course training for pure strength won't have you be huge - just look at Olympic lifters. But if you increase your calories and avoid doing singles and doubles, you will put on a decent amount of size. When i was at my best i was beastly and powerful. Fuck GH15 and his insistence that you cant have a build past a swimmer lest you take doses of GH.

Would that be the "Butchering Sacred Cows" article for FLEX, the "Squats Suck; Benches Blow" article for IronMan, or the one (the name of which eludes me) you did for MuscleMag, all around the mid/late 2002 or early 2003 timeframe?
And, if I'm not mistaken, right next to your "Butchering Sacred Cows" article, in which you criticize squats (didn't you blow a disc from heavy squatting), there's an article by Melvin Anthony, singing the praises of squats and what they did for HIS legs.
The point you made, and an excellent one at that, is that doing certain exercises just because it's what the old-timers did is basically a bad strategy.
Even they didn't follow that mantra as if it were gospel. Arnold claimed that, when he started training with Vince Gironda, everybody was doing preacher curls, because that was the exercise that Larry Scott used to blow up his arms, en route to his two Olympia wins.
Arnold noted that, while preacher curls did wonders for Scott, they did far less for his arm development.
