today, there was a guy in the gym training chest right next to the rack where i trained legs.

he walked around all pumpep up, imaginary monster lat, "tuff" stare, the usual stuff.

so while i was in the middle of a set of squats he walks past me in a way where i had to move out of his way wight the bar on my neck.
i did say a think.
next set, he does the same thing again.
i observe him benchpressing, he used 22olbs wich was bit too much for him and he had worse form/range than dana lyn bailyes.hed unrack it, the bar would start to go unbalanced and hed barely balance it out and then-i swear im not exagerating-do a 1inch movement rep, hold on lock and then do the same again.
btw during his reps hed lift up his legs all the way up,like a homosexual who is about to receive an anal hammering.

between sets the idiot would do some stretching execrices and scream in the process.

Exactly why I rarely give any credence to numbers claims from ... well, almost anybody. Yeah, he benched 450 pounds! Meanwhile it was actually 275 or some shit.

Dudes put no fewer than 12 or 15 plates on each side and then bang out several two-inch brutalizers, all the while grunting and moaning like retards. If you ever see them doing squats, they have 185 on and are getting crushed doing half reps for eight.

a couple of twinks come to the gym I go to and do their version of cross-fit bs; they will sometimes even dress alike

the part that makes me laugh hard every time is when they do laps (their is an indoor loop that goes around the perimeter of the main gym) running sideways, grapevines and even backwards

I don't like when trainers finish watching a ronnie coleman video and then all of their clients are doing lunges all around the gym like there is nobody else there but them.

I don't like people who do leg presses on the smith machine with the help of 3 people because they think its some sort of vertical leg press.

There's a guy who comes in a couple times a week who's probably in his mid-late 50's.  Drives one of those Hemi Chargers (black) and parks on an angle in front taking up 3 spots.  Looks like he could've been a defensive tackle "back in the day" but now is just a big, fat, barrel chested lug with robin legs.  Probably runs about 370#.  First thing he does as he charges into the gym, with no regard of who or what is in his way, is to flap his arms around like a whirly-bird 90 miles an hour.  Then he flat benches, again, about 90 miles an hour. Goes to the hammer-strength chest and pumps that out 90 miles an hour.  Then he'll either his bis or tris (1/4 reps), slamming the weights each set.  That's it.

I feel like keying his car every time I see it in the parking lot.  >:(

exactly thats why people love the bench press great excersise for showing off getting the spotter to yank the weight off.. he wouldnt try that with dumbells because he probably couldnt get them in place plus its hard to get a spotter to do the work for you with dumbells....

A number of things that are totally "normal" here in Japan:


One spoonful of creatine after each set.
Using lifting straps on ALL exercises, even bench press or warm-up sets.
Using a weightlifting belt ALL the time. (also on bench press, triceps cable push-downs etc)
throwing the weight around or doing 1 inch reps with way too much weight.
buying your protein in the gym shop (125$$ for 1.5kg whey concentrate) instead of buying on the internet (100$ for 10kg)

I just do not get how that would benefit him! He shoud just take a plate off and bench 135lbs but actually do a set where he touches his chest  and uses full range of motion. He is too old to get mad at though. he has to be late 40's. Also guys who you see leave the shitter and do not wash there hands and go ift free weights. It's just nasty! I cannot believe guys in there 20's and 30's take a shit or piss and dont wash there hands and then touch the free weights! I know most people wouldn't catch this and think much of it but it makes me sick!Germ city!

Guy at my gym does 1/3 rep bench/incline/decline, then keeps complaining to anyone who will listen about how bad his shoulder hurts, like a knife cutting into it.  Goes up to 225+ but can't do a real rep.

I got caught by him about 2 months ago.  Told him the first thing he needs to do was stop all pressing movements and rest it.  He said he didn't want to "lose it".

Didn't see him for six weeks, and he was back doing the exact same shit, except he grabbed a foam roller and rolled his shoulder against a machine once or twice.

from 81-till 2005 or so, yeah i used to train at the same time as johnnie morant and kemper in the early morning. lol, morant would have trouble getting up in the morning and kemper would go to johnnies house and drag him outta bed and bring him to the gym. nick lavitola, guy(duke)duccasse, carla dunlop(mrs olympia), lucho, derrick whitsett(pro), jason arntz(pro) beau matlock(top amature) sean jones(jersey state champ) and a bunch others all trained there through the years. i miss those days

i saw him afew times, he started going to golds in milltown mostly around 82 or so. saw wrestlers ricky steamboat and mr wonderful paul orndorff walk in one morning and i was like holy shit, i was a wrestling fan at that time and it was really cool.saw yates training chest there one morning, he was in jersey guestposing at kempers nj state show.

Guys we used to hang out with pinched some girl in the ass.....her boyfriend, who's benching, sees it and throws a 30 lbs dumbbell in his direction. He misses but hits the trainer/gym owner in the knees. He starts yelling and throws up. The pincher flees before the boyfriend can attack him, falling from the stairs and breaking his nose...

Today also, a favorite in gyms around the world, the lower back barbell curl. Lock your elbows in 90 degree angle and work that back like you fuck your ugly wife.

Guy at my gym does 1/3 rep bench/incline/decline, then keeps complaining to anyone who will listen about how bad his shoulder hurts, like a knife cutting into it.  Goes up to 225+ but can't do a real rep.

I got caught by him about 2 months ago.  Told him the first thing he needs to do was stop all pressing movements and rest it.  He said he didn't want to "lose it".

Didn't see him for six weeks, and he was back doing the exact same shit, except he grabbed a foam roller and rolled his shoulder against a machine once or twice.

Is his name Jeff and he trains at the Arlington Heights xSport?

Man i have to tell you guys about this IDIOT that trains at the West Knoxville RUSH....he is about 6'2" maybe 190-195...dude and his girl both hardly wear any clothes, he wears RIPPED string tanks showing his massive 32" chest..the girl is about 6' as well and her shorts BARELY cover her jelly roll ass everyday...they kiss in between EVERY f-in set. anyways.....this guy tries to do about twice as much on EVERY excercise possible...well last week he tried to incline bench 315 lbs and I swear guys he was STANDING up his back was arched so much...he moved the weight about 2" and racked it and then proceeds to head butt, no f-in lie, Head butt the lat pulldown machine right next to him like he had done something...

He ALWAYS tries to follow the biggest guy in the gym around (whoever it may be at the times he is there) and do the same weight that they do. He is the funniest and dumbest guy i have ever seen in my 15 years of training here locally.....

This video reminds me of a deadlift set I did a couple years ago, had a very thin bar, felt funny, looked flimsy, nevertheless it was 45lb olympic bar, started 1 plate, 2, 3, 4,5, plates, no problem, then I put 6 plates and a 25 on each side, took it off the rack, took 2 steps backwards, first rep hit the floor, came back up no problem, second rep, half way up a damn plate and a 25 flies off one side, then 2 plates and a 25 fly off the other, then I dropped it and my 2 friends and I nearly pissed our pants in laughter. They fell off cause the bar was bending like crazy and the plates slid off both ends at the same time, now when I deadlift I make sure the bars I use our the thick ones.

Those guys have to be able to deal with pretty brutal conditions, like running for miles with 80+ lbs of gear, pick up and carry zodiacs that weigh 300 lbs dry, add water, engine, rucks, rifles and ammo, etc. (Obviously they do this as a team)

They're the elite of the US military. Id be pretty disillusioned if he couldnt dead 225, as I could do that for reps graduating from boot camp @ 204 after losing 20 lbs of muscle and doing nothing but bodyweight excersizes and running.

Doing a shitload of burpees is hard...in our gym we called them "sugar cookies" because the guy who trained our trainer was ex military.  w and when they did them on the beach in SC his DI would laugh at them and say they looked like a bunch of sugar cookies...

Try doing burpees off the side of a heavy bag...instead of jumping you scoop the bag and shoulder it.   It sucks....

from 81-till 2005 or so, yeah i used to train at the same time as johnnie morant and kemper in the early morning. lol, morant would have trouble getting up in the morning and kemper would go to johnnies house and drag him outta bed and bring him to the gym. nick lavitola, guy(duke)duccasse, carla dunlop(mrs olympia), lucho, derrick whitsett(pro), jason arntz(pro) beau matlock(top amature) sean jones(jersey state champ) and a bunch others all trained there through the years. i miss those days

she did the stuff on the swiss ball and some exercises i never seen before in now 15 years on training.

its exercises which i couldnt tell for what muscle theyd be good.

one example is standing at cable crossover,back towards the tower, elbows firlmy at body, forearm straight out, like holding a pistol and then move the hand to the bellybutton.

maybe its a special movement to improve some kitchen skills in private life, ive never seen anything like it before.

im not knocking push ups or any bodyweight exercises cause i think they are good, i just dont see why a person would pay a gym membership and drive to the gym when they could do them things at home. if im paying for a gym membership and taking the time driving there im going to use every possible peice of equipment i can, providing its a good peice. if i was that dude id just buy 1 of those pull up-dip combo peices you can put in the basement or garage, there only about 125$ or so and u can do push ups,chins,abs,dips ect
