That's true, kids go into puberty much earlier than in the past, average heights have been increasing, even higher IQ has been connected to better nutrition etc.

"The experts" do say certain vitamin and mineral levels are often suboptimal, such as Vitamin D and magnesium.
Even Fauci said he was using vitamin D and these fellas are usually very anti-supplement  :D

I would think the cause of kids hitting puberty earlier would be the chemicals regulated/ unregulated Exposer rather than vitamins

No?

That's a myth, and the opposite is actually true.

Meat has no carbs.  Carbs are converted to glucose.  Glucose competes with vitamin C for absorption.  The more carbs you eat, the more glucose in your blood, the less vitamin C you'll absorb.

Spinach has compounds that inhibit iron absorption.

Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, turnips, and bok choy contain compounds that inhibit absorption of iodine by the thyroid.

Collard greens, sweet potatoes, rhubarb, beans, coffee, tea, fiber-containing whole-grain products and wheat bran, seeds, nuts, and soy isolates have compounds that inhibit calcium absorption.

These are just a few of many examples.

I've been reading up on this for a bit.  Definitely interesting for sure.

Most likely no, from what I gather. The reaserch seems to point to excessive energy intake as the reason.

Lots of people believe all manner of peudoscientific "articles" on the net. Like for example how milk contains dangerous amounts of growth hormones. Several problems with these theories. Some say dairy is inherently dangerous because it promotes higher IGF-1 which leads to cancer.

What I would like to know is what causes this purported drop in average testosterone levels in adult males. Is the data reliable? If so, what is the likely cause? Anyone here have solid insight on this, apart from automatic assumptions of xenoestrogens from bottled water or whatever?

I recall something about being married destroying one's sex drive but only in women.  ;) ;D

I'll be in Hell for that one, I know!  ;D

It could be.  Decades ago men got married usually in their 20's.  After a kid or two sex drops off a cliff with the wife.  Whacking off isn't easy to do with wife and kids around so most men probably went weeks or more without busting a nut.  Now with all the single men and free porn online most men probably ejaculate 10X more than men in the past.

Haven't heard the bottled water theory, unless you meant tap water or the plastic from the bottles??

Men being fatter is the one I lean towards, but eating from food warmed up in plastic tupperware in the microwave is another interesting theory.

There is supposedly hormone disruptors or xenoestrogens leaching into bottled water. Then you have the theory of estrogens from birth control pills which women piss out getting into drinking water. I haven't looked closely at these.

What I wonder about is the testosterone measurements taken many decades ago, if they are reliable, what kind population sample was tested and if it was representative of the population as a whole?
But then I also think about the case of poor African American ghetto males, many of whom people think are real jacked. African Americans supposedly also have higher test levels that whites. But they eat pure "artificial fast food crap" so...?

This is very interesting.

If we animal protein is all we need, why has man been eating all those vegetables for so many years?

Supposedly all these fellows are vegans...a step further from being a vegetarian. They look very healthy. Why is that?

A couple pictures and terrible logic doesn’t prove anything. The average vegan looks like a skinny, fat sack of shit. This just in, PEDs work.

https://phys.org/news/2009-10-modern-men-wimps.html

Other examples in the book are rowers of the massive trireme warships in ancient Athens who far exceeded the capabilities of modern rowers, Roman soldiers who completed the equivalent of one and a half marathons a day, carrying equipment weighing half their body weight, and Australian Aborigines who could throw a spear over 10 meters further than the current javelin world record.

McAllister attributes the decline to the more sedentary lifestyle humans have lived since the industrial revolution, which has made modern people less robust than before since machines do so much of the work. The fact that we are constantly improving and breaking athletic records is because they are only in comparison to the performances in recent decades. If you compare today's athleticism with that of humans much further back we see a real decline.

I have also read that the excavated bones of ancient Greek men revealed that they would have had more muscle mass on average than men today despite their poorer diet.

Also, without medication, only the strongest would reproduce and pass on their genes. In the Roman world if a man survived to 30 there was a good chance he could live to his 70's.

Without vehicles and machines and having to do everything physically these people would have been extremely tough and strong compared to modern people. And if we consider epigenitics, genes which are altered due our lifestyle, the changes due to these epigenetics can still be passed to their offspring. And then add in that mostly the strongest were usually able to pass on their genes as well.

Not just animal protein, but lots of animal fat too.  Your logic is flawed.  Humans can survive on plants, which is a huge advantage for survival purposes when animal based food isn't available.  It doesn't mean living on plant food alone is ideal or healthy for humans.

BTW, veganism in the west was started by Seventh Day Adventists, to lower libido in order to prevent sexual promiscuity.

Furthermore:

“The current scientific evidence is too low to conclude that vegan diets are generally healthy diets, in particular concerning their long-term impact on the risk of several diseases and all-cause mortality. These diets can therefore not be recommended, in a disease prevention optic.”

I wouldn't necessarily take those tales as facts. Do you believe them? When did the Aus Aborigine decline begin? When the explorers arrived or earlier? There should've been some real superhumans there when the Dutch and English arrived, and before the physical corruption due to modernity. But I haven't studied it so...

I don't necessarily believe those stories but I do believe that men would have been on average stronger and with naturally more muscle mass than today. Most people would have had to live far more demanding and physical lives and those genes would be passed on.

Vegetarianism is first mentioned by the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras of Samos around 500 BCE.

About 30% of Seventh Day Adventists are vegeterians. Did you get your information about veganism and Seventh Day Adventists from this article "Seventh Day Adventist Vegetarianism: The Shocking Origins of the Vegan Diet" by Carnivore Aurelius?

Vegetarianism and veganism are two different things.

Many Seventh Day Adventists eat meat too.  So what?

I've known the link between veganism in the west and Seventh Day Adventists for a long time, but that article by Carnivore Aurelius you linked is a good one.

All the SDA i know will not eat pork.  I've never met one that was Vegan.  There is a huge SDA base in Houston where i lived for 38 years.

Just like every other religion, they get to pick and choose what parts they deem important.

I've met quite a few of them that would actually shame people for eating pork.

Thanks for the information. Actually, I know the difference between vegetarianism and veganism. Not sure how you thought my post confused the two.

Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products, and all other animal-derived ingredients. Many vegans also do not eat foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar and some wines.

What are the 4 types of vegetarians?
Starting from the most restrictive and working our way down, the types of vegetarian are as follows:
Vegan.
Lacto Vegetarian.
Ovo Vegetarian.
Lacto-ovo vegetarian.
Pescatarian (Pescetarian)
Pollotarian.
Flexitarian.

You brought up vegetarianism twice in your response to my post regarding veganism in the west.

It's very simple.  Vegetarians eat some animal products.  Vegans do not.

The more I look at their products, the more I like them. Prices are fair too for what you're getting.
