is this a serious question? 225 shoulder press is about as impossible as a 315lb bench for a serious lifter...
What else would you expect from the originator of this thread, who probably maxes out around 75 lb.?

I've been going on and off for about 10 years now. Am 30 and weigh about 220 @ 5'8" plus. But I look really, really dense and thick and am constantly told that I can easily pass for someone who weighs 240 - 245 lbs, although I'm a fat f*ck as well Grin

Just cause you ain't ripped to the bone doesn't make you fat.......give yourself more credit......3/4 of this board would kill for your build and level of bf.

No idea. Allways do them on smith machine. Did 10 reps with 225 on the smith last shoulder workout. But its much harder with free weight.

Smith Machine is harder for me to do since my Arms are so long and want to follow their own range of motion rather than the Smith Machines.

A lot of people don't have enough shoulder flexibility to sit in a vertical seat and press. And most people who sit in the vertical seat still bend their lower back which isn't a good thing anyway. You're better off putting the bench on a steep incline and press, with your back fully braced against the length of the bench. Besides, like me, Alex is pretty thick, so you can see that his arms are still vertical during the pressing phase.

I haven't been in a gym to train for over a month now since getting kicked out.  Last week I was in Hilo at the gym we are doing over there.  There was 225 in the power rack.  I was sitting on the bench talking to the guys and leaning against the bar while talking.  One of the guys asked me if I coudl do that. I said I should but I haven't lifted in a month.  I ws doing an easy 10 to 15 reps with 225 before getting kicked out so I figured I should be able to do this at least once.  So I tried it.  And all I could get was one.  If I wanted toblow a nut I could have done 2.  I can't believe how weak I got in such a short time.  Unreal. I will be starting from square one again once I get back.

Man tell me about it... about a year ago a triceps pulldown that wasn't bolted down tilted over while doing the whole stack.. avoided it just in time, but the bar hit me in the face. Threathen to sue them and they eventually "settled". Part of the agreement, can't really tell who it was but let's just say it start with 24 and end with fitness  Cool...

never more
