I went several time for the Arnold classic, when bodybuilding was still bodybuilding, but never for the Mr.Olympia. Arnold asked me once to guest pose at his contest, I trained nearly 6 months to get ready, spent a lot of money, but the day of the contest Ben Weider told Arnold that i could not be on stage, since that day I refused to go to see any IFBB contest again.

Are you fuckin' kidding me!?!?!?  Shocked

That's a bunch of bull!  Angry

I don't blame you, Serge, but it sucks for us fans.  Sad

I mean, you don't have to tell us if it's private, but did Ben or Arnold even bother to give you an explanation as to why?  Huh

why dont you pm trev to have him outline a training routine that will allow you to gain muscle and loose fat at the same time?  Cool
Im not the one who went head to head against Arnold...that would be Serge...thats all im sayin...I dont tell Rusty Wallace how to drive faster or Tiger woods how to putt better.

your analogy is severely flawed (due to many reasons). both rusty and tiger have made  mistakes and been critizised for them.

the fact that serge was one of the best bodybuilders ever (always been a fan of his physique) doesnt change the fact that trev, a natural, wont gain muscle and loose fat at the same time.

you guys are not discussing the topic at hand. do you have to be as good serge to critizise some of his training theories? (not saying everything the guy says is wrong..far from it) that discussion has been up on bb boards 100s of times...

Serge thank you for this tread !
i found that your an Oliva training have comon things - high sets with short rest ,low weights, supersets, pumping strategy, muscle training two times a week.

but i want to understand what exactly your weightlifting conception.

for example you do 6-8 sets of bench press for 12 repetitions with 30-60 seconds rest between.
because of such short rest you need to drop weight each set to reach failure at 12 reps ?
or you from the begining stayng with one pretty light weight that alows you to get 12 reps each set with such short rest ?

Lol there is no way to stay at same weight, lose inches from waist and claim it all to glycogen retention. That is so stupid any TRUE bodybuilder will tell you.Serge was probably in constant state of glycogen retention.By that theory if he stopped training for a 7 days for example he will deflate to the side prior to his start of training.Yes? Get back to the real world. The truth is there are studies showing very increased HGH with short rest periods between sets.No matter what the weights used!

No, I dont have to drop weight after each set to reach faillure. As I explained already, i learned to put in my mind the weight i want to leave and not the weight i really have in the bar., for me the bar is just a physical thing which the weight stay cobstant but if you know how to work with your mind you will be able to put the weight you want and when you want, even in the same set.

maybe you should read what has been written again?  Cheesy

everyone is in "constant glycogen retention", because every human being stores glycogen, but yes when you start working out a muscle more than once a week you will feel your muscles pumped for longer periods of time.  and no he wouldnt deflate back to totally untrained state if not working out for a week, thats totally ridiculous. no one has said that, so you should get back to the real world and not twist what has been said. the truth is that you wont build muscle and loose fat unless your on drugs (and even then is it hard) or sometimes you can see the phenomenon in total newbies who can do it for a very brief period.

once again im arguing well established facts. the gaining muscle while loosing fat myth has been killed for years, so has serges ab cardio marathon advice.

as for serges training routine: it can work, as any other routine as long as you work progressively, which i said many times. but its not magic...nor is any other routine. consistancy will in most cases be more important than the specifics as long as you work out hard enough and dont use a totally fucked up routine.

slaveboy, sure you have some knowledge...
but your mistake - you think that you know ALL about bodybuilding.

and you so enjoy to tell THE SAME things from post to post ...

how about to start your own thread SLAVEBOY-GURU OF BODYBUILDING ADVICE?
