DC is a lot of fun, and very intense.
It's like anything though, you get what you put into it.
The hardest part of DC is that you have to be motivated to go all out every single time you go to the gym. You only really get one chance to "grow." You get your set, and that's pretty much it, so you have to be ready to put a whole workout into that set.
For me, the part I enjoy most about training is the progress. I never began lifting to be a bodybuilder, it was the furthest from my mind. I wanted to get bigger and stronger for sports. And for the first 8 years or so of my lifting, that was the main goal.
So, I still enjoy seeing progress and improvements in strength more than improvements in physique, even though I compete in bodybuilding competitions.
As for DC training, it has really brought up my strength in some movements. Chest strength has been the biggest improvement.
I was stuck at around 315lbs for 8 reps for a few years. My chest is a weak point on my physique, and I had been trying many things to bring it up. My last DC workout before my most recent "cruise," was incline bench. I did 355lbs for 10/4/3 in a rest pause fashion. So, I've jumped up around 50lbs in that movement in the past year, which has been great. Hopefully it will correspond to new chest size the next time I compete.
