Musclecentre, what is the weight training/bodybuilding culture like in asian countries. Is it common to have a gym membership? I just assumed that asian countries attitude to weight training were different to that of USA and Australia for example...
No doubt about it...

"weight training/bodybuilding" is not popular like in USA or Australia.
not so many hardcord gyms here.
but a lot of luxurious health clubs in Taiwan ,
And so-call "man-power show" pretty popular here
(but the most of so-call muscle-man are very skinny douche bags).

Hi Mr Taiwan.

I wonder if you could help me a little with my training?
I am 47 years old and have trained for a long time on and off.
I love to train but because of my work I am forced to train only 3 days a week. Mon-wed-fri. If I train any more I overtrain. I am also starting to feel pain in my shoulders and knees because of many years with heavy training. What would you reccond for gaining muscle mass for me?
Regards

good question per gunnar,   I am nearing 40 myself and I work out 5 days a week.  I dont overtrain or go hardcore on anything these days.  Legs I go all out but only fairly heavy at best.  My knees are starting to bother me again like they did when I was younger and squatting heavy.  I know heavy weight and mass go hand in hand.  Without taking gear again how can I get bigger legs with killing my knees?  They did not hurt at all when I took some testosterone over a year ago.

When you are getting older ,you train more smater .
I mean to prevent to injure yourself ,using lighter weight, high reps and sets .
As an old fart like me,people don't care how much weight you lift right now or past.
bodybuilding is not like powerlifting ,it's a ''appearance"' sport not "performance".
Your physique looks better with defination ,shape....,not just mucle size.

yes
Actually a little bit flabby already  ;D
Eat right and train hard(not heavy) are the only way to prevent skin flabby .

Musclecenter,

How come your gym is considered a dirty dump by many expats who have been there? Do you pick up the weights or spend any time cleaning the place?

How heavy do your dumbells go up to, and do you consider your gym the most hardcore in Taipei? Do you have Hammer Strength equipment?

Thanks bro.
