For those of you familiar w/the Qu'ran/Koran...
« on: October 11, 2007, 08:06:43 AM »
What "book" - if that is what they are called - of the Qu'ran would you suggest someone read that encompasses it's jist?

For instance, if someone agreed to read only one book of the bible, I would perhaps suggest they read the book of John.

Hedgehog, haidar, Toxy, Nordic etc. what "book" would you suggest?  Thanks!

good gawd (or the absence there of!) r people THAT un informed..

the koran in arabic is just 1 book...you can pick 1 up in america and pick up another copy 200 yrs old in egypt..its exactly the same to the very last comma..which is why the muslims (like my dad and mum) validate the koran as being the true work of god..

they still believe in the bible..but they believe the original ws lost and man changwed the words around to fit his needs..hense soo many versions..

the end..

just walk into a mosque and ask for a translation...they should just give ya 1 for free..i think muslims r forbidden to make money from koran sales..i could be wrong there though...

no thats is a common western misconception...of course most muslim societies tend to be 3rd world and un educated..

the koran gets the blame for a lot of counter cunture social mores...cause thats convenient...

a fucktard drunk beats his wife in a muslim country...people blame the koran..cause the drunk said "hey the koran made me do it" :-\
a fucktard drunk beats his wife in America..people blame the drink..

one of the verses says " under your mothers feet, lies heaven"

No incorrect. Must I lay the smack down on you?

Koran: the women is like a field to man.
Koran: women are spoils of war.

The list is ENDLESS.

The koran consists of 114 chapters of varying lengths, each known as a sura. It doesn't take Einstein to realise a single sura is what Stella was referring to ::) Stupid as the day is long...

What about the fucktards who make women wear veils and deprive them of their education?

What about the supreme fucktard Mohammad, the shameless pedophile?

my mum has never worn a viel and considers herself a good muslim...hey those snakehandlers and polygmists also consider themselves christians right?

from what i know all the koran says is " to cover up in a manner so as not to entice sexual thought from the opposite sex" and that goes for men AND women.....nowhere does it say ya gotta cover up as the taliban woman do..

Your examples show total lack on education and intelligence Toxic.

It's irrelevant what your mother determines islamic practice or not. What islamic practices says, it says.

You see the idiocy in your Christian comparison is the ISLAMIC texts dictate the requirement for the suppression of women. Where does the bible promote polygamy. Ironically, the koran promotes polygamy, especially women counted as "the spoils of war".

"from what i know", from what I know, you know NOTHING!

Aisha 16? haha now your stupidity reaches new lows!

The koran preaches it is the direct word of god and a perfect copy of the mother of all books. This means that your points of ethnocentric influence are null and void. Why? Because the koran is perfection, not just then, not just now, but FOREVER.

PS...

They married at 6, the marriage was consummated when she was 9 and he was in his early 50's.

Why is that people not so familiar with the Qur'an are posting in here  ???

Anyway, that's a good question Stella asks, I'll have to think about this one. I do have a suggestion though- you can look up the chapters by name and see which one's you might wanna read?

Tell us Stella, what do you want to hear?

I was invited, note first post.

Secondly, assumption is the mother... you know the rest.

I was asking sura she would like to read, it's determined by what she wants to hear.

I see no rebuttal of my statements made in this thread.

Surely my truths can be easily refuted if they aren't truths? ???

Actually in this case, preconception is the mother of all f-ups.

Don't flatter yourself htinking I'll start responding to your bullshit. However, if we can set up a proper debate I may consider that but I dont even know if I have time for that. I'm not in the business of convincing you, I've made the mistake of trying that already. Sorry.

Nordic, nordic, nordic... you're just here to feed your ego. What good is it when its gonna be shot down? So by letting you "win", I'm giving u what u wish for... which isn't necessarily the truth  :-\

Saying "defeated" was a jest.

I have no ego.

I don't think I'm better than anyone. That's just your interpretation of me.

Read my complete posting listings on get big and show me where I show ego.

Again, you make claims, no references.

Anyone who needs to argue so badly has ego problems. Surely when its all about "winning", it can't be said that you're debating for truth...show me one place where you've been shown to be misinformed, and you have conceded? And how many times have you repeated stupid insults like that anyway, so you want me to judge you by your real life story?  :-\

Sure I could be wrong, but you certainly aint arguing for the right reasons/mindset. Just look at your approach, would you consider yourself approachable the way you present yourself here?

I argue this particular topic because it's what I believe to be the biggest threat to humanity in the long run.

You don't think toxics stupid comments should be refuted as I have done time and time again.

Show me where I am wrong and I will concede.

You dont arrive at the truth merely by refuting someone else, who also doesn't know much about the religion..It's more of an exercise in convincing yourself about what you already believe. Judging from your approach, I dont think you have changed any, so I have no desire to "debate".

Well, patronising me isn't going to get you very far. I'd be keen to debate you on the issues of islam if you'd like.

My debate and interpretation isn't spiritual like yours.

I'm a critic of islam. Criticise it is what I do. I don't stand on any spiritual high ground like you do.
