today was actually a lifting day at world's gym

did bench press, dumbell press

ran the rack with a dumbell curl set

and did two sets front and both sides on the Neck Machine with 70 lbs.

(I'm no pencil-neck)

LOL  medford don't waste your time with the neck machine...get more bang for your buck with something like squats, lunges, or some additional upper body work!

Agree, not a big fan of women with big, thick necks.

my neck is pretty thick naturally, same with traps: lucky for me I have naturally wide shoulders.  the whole effect makes me look like a short and squat powerlifter.

ended the year with a bang and did a whole hour on the treadmill.  no workout today due to abbreviated hours at the gym and my work today.  I must say that things are coming along nicely.

thank you.  I must say that I haven't gone to the gym this consistantly in quite a while.  I'm a little bummed I have to take today off due to the short gym hours and my being at work, maybe that's why I did a full hour yesterday

I feel lighter.  I think that my tummy has gone down some, my legs have firmed up a little.  I still got stubborn fat to lose, but I'm on the downward trend and not the upward trend, so how it happens is how it happens

My ephedrine came yesterday.  Yum.  I think maybe ten  people PM'd me for the hassle free site.  Some sites sell fake ephedrine.  Beware.

I was thinking of chopping this up into two threads.  the first will be Medford's journey with my comments and everyone's comments and inputs.  the other will be Medford's log with only logged workouts.

Thank you to everyone who typed in here.  It's working because I'm working it.

Keep it up Medford...patience and consistency!!

Seriously though, if you have limited time to train with weights, don't spend it isolating things like your neck muscles...go for bigger, compound exercises that are going to work multiple muscles and make you work harder and burn more calories!   :)

yeah the neck is just for fun

today I think I was distracted by worrying/thinking about going for my car inspection sticker after my workout

only did 30 minutes on the treadmill and it was a slow pace

I also tried doing my back WOW I haven't done back in years, and correctly isolating the lats was weird, they felt strained and I quit after three sets

its going to take some time to get the lats up to par

on a good note, I feel more bodybuilderish, I know it's been only two months but I am getting more and more into it, looking forward to workouts and mentally planning them

You should take a look at some of the training threads on this board (Back training, glute/lower body, arm training, etc) to get some ideas for workouts.   :)

I actually bought the three Bob Chic bodybuilding DVD's from bodybuilding.com, they are excellent.

Sally sent me her routine too.  Lots of stuff to learn

skipped two days of gymwork, was up this morning feeling drained.  think I may need recovery time?  checked the scale, OMG

dropped three or four more pounds and didn't even know it

checked by trying on a pair of pants I had that are one size smaller than the size I've been wearing the past two years

holy smokes they fit...not a great fit but I could put them on

well, now, gonna really tweak the diet...success breeds success...I was in the greengrocer's section of the supermarket today, don't think I have been in that section before (blush)

got some sensible stuff to snack on

I am shocked at progress and am greedy to make the needle on the scale go down lower

Good work, I figured if you got to the seeing results side like you are then it would snow ball for you.

Just stay consistant with your work outs, I would doubt you are overtrained in any way.  Make yourself go when you are supposed to.

I think I'm exausting myself.  Came home today and saw another pound gone.  Working 40 hours plus an extra day at another job, plus going to the gym 5 to 7 days a week.  Just need some rest

diet went awesome today though.

Maybe you should cut down for 3 to 4 times a week. Stress is a slow killer, and bad for dropping fat and adding some muscle. Rest is good.

Diet is probably 80% of it.  I'd like to see more about your diet...what does an awesome diet day look like?

low sodium v8 juice with ammino acid tablets

4oz grape juice with AM vitamins

ECA stack with white grapefruit juice

celery sticks with natural peanut butter

tiny can of white chicken packed in water

broccoli salad (raw broccoli, extra virgin olive oil and chopped garlic)\

skim milk and whey protein shake with a banana

nighttime one apple with a vitamin C

(those are the foods with some varience, also a post workout Anabolic Window shake after I lift sometimes)

and water, water, water, water, water

Medford, you rock, you are doing such a great job. I like that diet also. Your keeping it clean but still keeping a variety. Keep it up and we all are proud of you! :)  Don't forget to stretch.

That is looking much better medford.  I'd love to see you at least substitute real fruit for the fruit juice, and keep all of your fruit early in the day, maybe eat something other than an apple before bed.  You're definitely on the right track, though...keep it up!   :)

Hey Medford, they have this "sugar free" juice from Tropicana and Minute Maid that's pretty good. It goes down like water but they have different flavors, like , sugar free lemonade, orange , and fruit punch.

I like the broccoli salad idea, stole it from work.

Um...the juice in the am is only about 4 to 6 oz, just to boost my sugar till food hits me.  I have hypoglycimia.

The grapefruit juice is to boost the ECA.

I cant really tell when are you eating those foods listed.  Is each listing a meal?

I gotta say I dont really like the looks of it.  But if its working for ya then I guess.  I would just wonder how you can stay on a diet like that for long?  There does not look to be enough protien in there or calories for that matter.

Nothing in there is real food, what do you hate to cook?  Shouldnt food look like a meal on a plate?  With maybe a half potato, chicken breast and some veggies.  No wonder you are tired.

Just my 2 cents

So since you do it at work, you hate doing it at home?

What kind of stuff do you cook?  Whats your signature meal?

pizza (brick oven) and a few italian dishes.  Best one is the Gratinati (tri colored tortalini's, formaggio mix, chicken and tomatoes baked in the oven till golden brown)
