I have a similar body type as Squad...mostly the weight goes to my gut first..IAF (intra adominal fat)

knowing that, I try to keep the cardio up and watch what I eat

for some people the fat gain is spread evenly through their body so they are able to carry more weight and not look fat while carrying a relatively high BF%.

All these "shredded" boys make me laugh.   They can't get big, but hey "at least they're not fat".   Hate all big guys that have muscle and fat and don't get "ripped" at least twice a year.   Believe that anyone with muscle and fat is a fraud and must shed all bodyfat to be taken seriously.   Believe strength is fine, but "kinda unnecessary when you consider it in terms of bodybuilding".   Believe anything over a 32" waist is obese.   Only attracted to perfect 10s (oh brother).   Are offended by fast foods and soda.  Shake their heads in disgust at people in grocery stores while shopping.   Most are 20-something kids that haven't accomplished anything in life except placing 2nd in the local Shitsplat Bodybuilding Contest.

No....just saying you don't need to bulk up (get fat) to put on muscle. It's pure myth with phyisiological backing to prove it, that's why I've got to laugh when people say they eat 4-5000k per day, my question is what the hell for??

The biggest problem is when naturals start copying the pros. When I used to peruse BBing.com I'd see kids eating 6k calories a day of junk because the pros do it. Dave Palumbo, the most hideous man alive, tells everyone to 'get to Mcdonalds'. The problem is that they don't take the combination of drugs that pros take when cutting..cocktails that allow them to burn fat faster, to keep muscle when losing fat, to even build muscle while losing fat.

 I think the 'see food' diet has led to many naturals being at 30% bodyfat for the rest of their lives. Then, when they get to that stage, the amount of fat on the surface simply makes the muscle underneath look like more fat. A lot of people start reading Flex and reading info from the pros and end up looking worse than before they started training. No one wants to train to look worse, do they?

 Just like some of you laugh at the 'skinny' guys with crazy stuff like definition and no double chins, those guys laugh at the 35% bodyfat guy screaming and shouting throughout his super hardcore workout, his belly constantly displaying itself as he does his military presses.

I of course agree 100%.  Fact of the matter is, if these skinny little fag*gots ran into guys like us, Squad, Havenbull, chaos, bigmc, kiwiol, etc. on the street, they'd be calling us "sir" and praying we wouldn't kick the shit out of them in a moment of rage.

You are wrong, The Coach. Putting on a bit of fat and going upto 15% - 20% BF boosts your strength a whole lot and you can push a lot more weight. That equates to more muscle over a period of time. When you then cut down, you'll have more muscle than you'd have had had you stayed under 12% or 10% or whatever.

I'm not talking 20 lbs + or anything, but if you do stay around 15 - 20%, you don't look fat (by normal standards, not bodybuilding standards) and the additional fat does help your body's test / hormone production, increases recovery, lets you sleep better etc.

Of course, introducing juice into that context changes all the variables and such, but overall, I'd say you'd only gain by having a nice, filling off-season :P

No one can hold contest conditioning after a show for a relatively long period of time. If someone goes from lets say 4% BF and has about 6 months till their next show or even a year, you are naturally going to have a rise in BF. The key is to stay around 10-12% all year if your goal is to compete. A person can put on as much, if not more muscle at a lower BF than at a higher BF.

I see what you are saying about training heavier, but this is BBing not powerlifting, I personally don't fall into the category that heavier is best as opposed to greater volume. Heavy usually means more susceptibility to injury, all you need to do is take a look at all the injuries most have suffered due to poor mechanics and heavy loads. If you tear a muscle your out till you heal but smart training = longevity and greater gains.
