No matter how much of a punk the kid is, you can't say it's okay, EVER.

because the moment you give the cop the power to determine which 'smart mouth' should be shoved down, you have a bigger problem. The cop can now shove down 12, 10, 8, and 6 year olds who talk back. The cop can now shove down 60, 70, 80, and 90 year olds who talk back.

The moment you okay it for one incident (even if the kid is a douchebag) the minute you have a police state where ANYONE can be beaten at ANY TIME for ANYTHING.

This cop should have locked the kid up on whatever law he was breaking - disturbing the peace, etc. Spending a night in juvenile hall getting shoved around might keep the kid from coming back to that park.

I like the counter Orwellian revolution that has come with the advent of small and portable cameras. I look at it as a check on the authoritarian power of the state. If everyone is watching everyone, everyone will be cautious before doing the kind of thing shown in the video here.

Although my lawyer has trained me thoroughly on how to deal with bad cops, I would prefer to just avoid them outright! Having been both in the military for years and worked as a bouncer, I see that numerous people who get these types of jobs were either bullies or bullied and as one smart man once said - they use their badge (or uniform/shirt) as both a sword and a shield.

I dont see any issue what what the cop did. The dumb ass should have shut his mouth and not called the cop dude after he made it clear that he was not going to put up with it. Should have arrested him for resisting arrest and taken him back to his single mother.
