Let's be real: In every other sport or industry, when someone has something to promote, they go on EVERY SHOW possible.
It's pretty fucking petty and juvenile to ask a publicist to grant an "exclusive" when there is ZERO benefit to the one promoting their stuff.
Back in the day, when a Getbig lawyer was representing a Planet Fitness "grunter", the two of them were asked by Larry Pepe and John Romano to appear on MD's No Bull Radio. The attorney and client agreed to do the show.
Shortly after MD made the announcement, a man named Dan Solomon came calling (through his intermediary) to see if the duo would appear on PBW. "Of course," the attorney replied, "we're doing MD at 7pm and can do PBW at 8pm."
"Uh...can you cancel MD? We're on Sirius and they're not," he lied.
The lawyer, having given his word to the very decent Pepe, refused to cancel his MD appearance and without the "exclusive", PBW chose not to interview the two.
You might think that an aberration, but according to Tom Platz's very lovely wife and manager, Mr. Solomon did the exact same thing with him when he was previously booked by MD, even going so far as to offer Tom money to cancel on MD and instead appear on PBW.
In those instances, both the attorney and Mr. Platz placed personal integrity over petty politics, but it's fairly clear that based on his past behavior, Mr. Solomon thinks nothing of attempting to undermine and interfere with the business relations of others.
Fortunately, the times they are a-changing!
More on this next Monday night at 7pm EST!
