I like when the Pope was dying and there were BILLIONS of prayers all at the same time begging for him to be restored in full health.

At no time on this planet, in any instance had one man received as many prayers simultaneously from so many different deluded believers.

Guess what happened to Pope John Paul II?

He died. hahhahhahhahhahhahha

The man was in his 80's was he not.

Many people pray for peoples souls rather than out of desire and wants.

Prayer should not be selfish IMO

5'9" 235lbs, benching 405...natural? ::)

Do you think anyone believes those claims? (then again you are a Christian fundy, so maybe you have 'faith' in those stats...)

A 5'10 20yr old at my gym weighing 210lbs benches 400lbs

Make sure you clairfy that when you are a 6 on the scale, it regards that the likelihood that a talking vacuum cleaner will win the 2008 Mr. Olympia is the same as the likelihood of the existence of god.

LOL.

Richard Dawkins uses a scale of 1-7, 1 meaning you are absolutely sure there are gods and 7 meaning you are absolutely sure there are no gods; I am a 6. Most rational atheists would be a 6, just like you would be a 2 (likely).

Yes, yes, truly the climax of western knowledge, Dawkins' famous religious scale. I guess that sums it all up.

Where are you on the scale Wienerschnitzel?

It's a scale between scientific positivism and (a very simple form of) christian fundamentalism (apparently all that Dawkins is able to come up with).

On a scale between false and false, you will not find any true and that's why Dawkins has no clue.  ;)

If you put it like that: 0%.
That's just too big a topic to discuss on this thread.

Why is it that God allows priests to sodomize young kids in his own house? Surely god should be protecting the young innocent and faithful when they are abused by members of his own clergy?

BAM. GAME OVER. God would NOT let children be molested and raped. END OF STORY.

God gave man free will.

if you dont subscribe to this belief then

Man forged his own free will.

My mum works on the childcare protection committee in my parish and diocese to minimise the risk of this happening as much as she can. It is also a voluntary post.

IF Jesus and God are PERFECT...then WHY does there have to be a THIRD coming of Jesus Christ? He could NOT get the shit right the first two fucking times? Emperor Qin of China...and others who have lived...let us say...10,000 BCE...Up until Jesus was born...Were waiting and waiting and waiting for him to come and save them all...Guess what? He was born 2,009 (Let's NOT split hairs here, and play games...play semantics) years ago...and he actually had to get killed and die, to come back a second time, and the universe as we know it...are what? waiting for his third act? Is this MLB? Do you get THREE STRIKES? NO. The people that lived 20,000, 15,000, 10,000, 05,000, 2,500, 01,000 (ALL BCE)...ALL GOT ASS FUCKED IF THERE IS A GOD AND A JESUS.

Dreadlord were you raised Catholic?

Hah - Are you insinuating that the most/all  atheists were raised catholic?

I wasn't raised with religion period. My parents didn't rely on a invisible man who lives in the sky to provide me with advice on how to live life.

Since you were so curious stella maybe you'd like to answer my question

I like this quote from Lance
I do not believe that because you are not prepared to submit yourself to a god or a higher being, that when you get to the end of the road, you will be sent down. I'm not prepared to believe that."

Oh boy....I hope one of your children grows up one day becomes rational and tells you that he resented having this shit forcefed to him as a child; you really deserve that.

And why exactly do I "deserve that"? Do you "deserve" to have your son (should you ever have one) become a Christian?

Who cares what man does with God's laws. Why does God chose to let HIS OWN clergy abuse kids in HIS OWN house? Surely the almighty creator can step in and prevent it from happening in the first place. Maybe God enjoys watching pedo's at work.  :-X

If god is the creator he bears some responsibility for the actions of his creations who use his bullshit to bring suffering onto others. You have that bible so far up your ass you're regurgitating it  pages like a zombie. Why don't you face up to the fact that you're just weak willed and need a fictional father figure as a crutch to move on with your life?

Weak-willed??? Hmmm....That's rich, This coming from someone blubbering and cursing over someone he doens't believe to exist.

As far as regurgitating goes, that honor falls on you, as yet another run-of-the-mill atheist recycles one tired catchphrase after another. You guys need some new material.

With regards to your obsession with pedophile priests, this ain't the first time people of the cloth has abused their authority and hurt others and it won't be the last. God dealt with those in the past who did such; He will do so with those who currently do that.

Of course, once that happens, I'm sure you (and your godless brethren) will revert to the usual hollering, this time about how cruel God is for sending judgment on evil-doers. If not that, you'll find some other way to resemble a three-year-old brat, who just got his favorite cookie taken from him.

And all of these histrionics over someone in whom you DON'T believe. And, you guys think we're nuts!!!!  ::)

Notwithstanding the fact that your question already got answered (maybe not to your liking, but that's your own affair), since you're so hyped on having questions answered, try these on for size (which I posted earlier):

What exactly do our non-believing brethren suggest should be done with those who refuse to adopt their godless doctrine?

Of course, there still begs the question of what this grandiose goal is of certain "heathens" and why such can't be accomplished, without the abolition of religious belief.
