Fine.  Let's legalize all weapons.  Biological, nuclear, whatever.

I think we can fix this gun mess with a mandatory 25 year no parole sentence for anyone convicted of any crime where a gun is fired.

Yes, that would include negligent use of a firearm as well.  Right Mr. Vice President?

No and u don't need an M-203.

See Decker..common sense.....I would love a fully automatic MP-5 but I don't need one. I can get an M-4, same as I carried in Afghanistan. I can't fire a 3 rnd burst..but u really don't need that

I wish.  I try to understand the love of guns and I just draw a blank.  I do try.  I just don't see it.  From anecdotal experience, I think of all the times in my life when there was conflict and adding a gun to those instances just does not make it better.

That's my problem.

And hopefully u never will. I don't hunt at all. I actually pretty anti-hunting unless u do it with a bow. All my friends hunt. They have camera's and cool suits and deer piss and special pre hunting soap. I don't get it. I like deer meat and there are plenty of deer. Beyond that...how could u kill a bear...or a moose. However I have several weapons including a shotgut loaded to shread a robber, his buddy..the guy behind him and evetually the asshole waiting in the car. I have handguns as well....I shoot ocaasionally. My son is NRA trained and I've passed on some of the combat handgun shit I know, from courses I've taken. He hunts...alot. I have guns for protection.

What is a sad sight? Me taking my son to the shooting range with his grandpa and uncle? We have tribal deer and elk hunting rights and go every hunting every year. The gun he is shooting is a .17 which is smaller than a 22.

I would prefer my son knew about guns so that if he ever encounters one he knows the dangers and response accordingly. I got my first 22 when I was 5 years old and was taught at a young age to respect guns.

The point is that people need to access of the means to be able to protect themselves.  For home defense, the best weapon is probably a pump shotgun backed up by a 357 revolver or 9mm handgun.

If the criminals think no one is armed than everyone will be target practice since they will know we are all defenseless.

If you were a mugger or robber - who are you robbing?  The home where the owner has an NRA sticke on the back of the pick up or the house where the Toyota Prius is parked with the "End War Now" sticker on it?

I think all people should at least know the basic functions of guns just so that if they come cacross one they can properly unload it and make it for safe handling, especially a revolver and semi auto handgun.

I have a bunch of guns, legally of course, but at the end of the day, my favorite for shooting is the Ruger 10 22 .22.  Small decent, easy rifle to go to the range with.

When I see the people who drive Toyota Prius and the other little go karts with all the Obama and End War stickers, it just screams "target practice" if I were a criminal.

On the other hand, a guy with an NRA sticker, pick up truck, I am not messing with that guy since he is either armed with a gun, or at least has a boot knife or club under the seat.

Liberals just dont get it.

It's not enought that I have locks on the doors?  Now I have to have my wife raped and my house robbed b/c I didn't have a gun?

What if the narrative took a turn and the burglar, instead of stealing your vcr or dvd player, happened upon one of  your many guns?  Then he held you captive while his buddy had his way with your significant other?  All b/c you have a gun collection.

I suppose it depends on who is authoring the narrative, doesn't it?

I know this is antagonistic, but I wonder how many of the gun opposition would be willing to put a sign in their yard that says "Gun free residence and proud of it!"

Well. the Pruis with the 'End War Now' probably already gave all his money willingly to Obama to help his fellow man... So he's broke already....

I haven't heard Obama chime in too much on the guns, but it seems to me that no one needs automatic or semi automatic assault rifles.  If you can't kill a fucking deer with a pea shooter, you need more help than a gun can provide.

banning assault rifels only takes them out of the hands of people that follow the law.not the criminals (thats why there criminals)the law matters not to them.

I have a safe that is porbably more secure than the nuclear football where everything is stored.  Other than the one for self defense, everything is under multiple locks, chains, and safeties.

I also taught my girlfriend the proper safe handling and function of a firearm.

It is irresponsible to have a gun in the house and not make sure everyone is well versed in the proper  handling of the same.
