In every training, If you dont train to the limit, its not hard.

As a natural I think I go to absolute failure very rarely.  I have found that I dont progress with weights as much.  My joints ache more...and I feel like crap when that particular bodypart rolls around.

When it comes to legs only, their leg size are quite similar.
Plus Paco has more leg detail than Ronnie.

I have watched Blood and Guts over and over and over....show me where he focuses on the 'peak contraction' during legs on things like squats, leg presses, hacks, etc.
No he dont do it. So?

Meaning that when going to failure every single set...every single workout my progress from workout to workout is not as good as when I back off slightly

No he dont do it. So?

Well...you are insinuating that when someone doesnt go to failure all the time they are a pussy.  Because Paco does...his word is king.  King Dorian would disagree.  ;D

Pacos trainer and Pacos philosophy, if you are overtrained, you dont eat enough. Up the dose of protein.
You can go to failure.

Melvin is the most overrated bodybuilder in the business but Parker rides his jock because he's black. ::)

nope, I am actually disappointed in him, and I got into it with on here a few yrs back. When Mel is in shape, he has one of the best back double bis in the business. And that is not me saying that.

You do realise that Dorian won the British in 1988,then took 2 years off before he competed as a pro.He said at the time he didn`t want to just compete as a pro,he wanted to be a successful pro.The 2 years off were needed to make the gains he felt he needed to be successful.I think his plan kinda worked.

Yep, I was gonna mention that. Dorian was an anomaly. If you think about the late 80's early 90's, they didn't have the quality of the mid to late 90's. The group will probably never be surpassed.

Today, when Richard Jones got his Pro card, you tell he had similar qaulities to Shawn Ray. When Phil Heath got his pro card, you can tell he was gonna be a contender. And typically today where most don't go pro until their late 20's early to mid 30's, they have already gained enough size. Phil Heath has already gotten to big.
But wth Evan? The wide waist...and the wait for 2 yrs are gonna hurt him. But I will reserve my comments until he competes. Because he looked his best in MD a few yrs back, and I have both issues in which he details his biceps routine and his triceps routine.

::) gauranteed if he was a black bodybuilder you'd have kinder words for him.

LOL.  Classic Dave.

Parker is right. He may be cool but lets see what he can do onstage.  In the meantime you can keep hoping and dreaming for that great white hope among the dominant, negroid, beasts. ;D

My opinion of Paco has plummeted if this is as much thought that he puts into training

It seems that Paco is the only pro he has ever worked out with. Paco is his big Spanish brother. I wish he would explain how Paco got those Big Spanish udders a few yrs back.

What I don't get is how someone can believe there is no such thing as overtraining, just under eating and also that always training to failure is productive for a natural...

In every training, If you dont train to the limit, its not hard.

If you do train to the limit each and every time, and aren't on the juice, good luck making gains. You'll start heading backwards. You think lifters go to the wall each workout? Hell no. Most people stop making gains after a couple of year in the gym. You see a lot of 185 * 6 benches, 80*6 barbell curls and so forth. I hit a wall after a few years and had an opportunity to talk to Mr. Universe Bill Pearl at a seminar. He told me straight up to always leave a few reps in reserve. The last rep should feel tough, but if a gun was to your head 2 or even 3 more would be possible.

After this I went from 185 for 6 to 185 for 11 on the bench. The next year 205 for 8. The year after 215 for 9. The year after 235 for 6. It took 3 more years to get to 275 * 7 but I got there. Now my bench isn't much compared to some of the power guys on here but my point is that very few people can withstand training to the limit too often. Most won't progress.  If most people in the gym made half decent progress over 5 - 10 years of training you'd see just about everyone repping 225 *12 for sets of 4 on the bench no problem in every gym. In my gym maybe every 15th guy gets that (yes it's not a hardcore gym and most guys are natural).

Wrong. As long as you take enough time off between workouts to recover, you'll be fine. Just throw in a couple of weeks every few months to give your body and it's various systems a break. I've been training to failure on all my sets for over 15 years, am natural and never had any problems making gains.
