What is the Y Board position on "sumo" deadlifts?
Gayer than having a dedicated arm day.

I've been lifting but not really going all out. I go through this every year this time, right before Xmas until after new year.

So last night I was lifting and I hear weights hit the floor real loud. I look over and a guy was doing deads for reps with 475lbs and dropped the last one too fast. He looked over at me and said "Sorry" ;D

I thought Planet Fitness didn't allow heavy deadlifting.

I wouldn't know I dont lift there.

...A friend of mine owned three gyms and sold them to Planet Fitness years ago and he had it written in the contract that myself and a couple others of us had lifetime memberships....I pay to lift elsewhere.

I joined one that was attached to the dance studio to just fuck around for an hour while my daughter was in class.

Lasted about a month.

I am in the same boat as you though - just fucking around working out, so I get it.

Sumo deadlifts are training for cock squatting, that's why you see so many chicks doing it.
I'm worse off than the other fellas, have been horribly inconsistent with my lifting.

Woke bastard.

Most lifters in my gym when doing deads just do the lift then just drop the bar with no effort to lower it :-\

Lowering the weight controlled takes effort and most people are trying to do the least they can.

I always try to lower the weight controlled.

The last couple of times doing traps I've used the staright bar and noticed the difference. Both times I felt sore which doesn't happen with db's or face pulls.

When they just drop the weight, the idiots lose have the benefits.

One thing I never see people do these days on deads is when the lift is completed at the top, they never lean slightly back to contract the erectors.

if you look back at the power meets of the 70`s and 80`s everyone did this from Vince Anello to  Lamar Gant.

When I first started lifting you'd hear about from the old timers. Some 150lb string bean in a wife beater would be told to go put a shirt on ;D
