Hmm....perhaps at this point in the game it's not the right time, but you need to start throwing more weight around in squats.  You should not be bench pressing more than you're squating.  Oh, and none of this smith machin, six spotter Tamali bullshit.

Mike: I have been away from the ABB boards for a long time...years...and I have just begun to follow some of the threads again...I must say that this thread and your personal transformation is the most positive/inspirational thread I have seen on any bodybuilding board.

Great work and stay focused.

Mike:  first post here re: your progress...looking much better, I'll admit I had my doubts when I first saw ya, but you're doing great man.  Good luck on finishing strong, I've done two shows now so I know what you're having to endure.  When you wake up on the morning of the show and see how you've turned out, it'll all be worth it...

Mike, gotta question for you.  Now that you're preppin for a show are you one of those 1st-time competitors that suddenly begins to train louder and talk louder in the gym?   It's been my experience that virtually every new competitor suddenly begins to talk louder than they ever have before while in the gym, they chat on their cell phone constantly, always brings 1 or 2 lackey friends to fetch plates and act as glorified hype men.   Although, the most unique feature about new competitors is definitely the increase in voice volume.   Before ever engagin in any competitive program they all spoke at a normal voice volume...let's say 4-5 on a scale of 10.....now that they're preppin and especially after they've competed their new "normal" voice volume is an 8 on a scale of 10.

Now, please tell me you're not one of those loud talkin competitors?   They used to train relatively silently, but now they enter for a workout with one of their "hype crew" and it's always something like: "What's it gonna be today Joey?  Big chest day?  ALRIGHT BIG JOEY....BIG CHEST DAY TODAY!!!  WHEW!!  ALRIGHT!!!  LET'S DO THIS BIG JOEY!!  WHATCHA THINK?  225 FOR 12 FOR STARTERS?!!!  WHEW, LET'S DO THIS!!  YEAH, BIG CHEST BABY!!  GOOD STRETCH BABY!!  BIG CHEST!!!"

For the love of all things good....please tell me you're not one of those fuggin assclowns.

I agree with Mindspin.....

your squat should crush your BP.

You need to train your legs so hard that they shake & quiver just standing on them.  In between sets your legs should be sooo fatigued that you have to sit down.

No mercy Mike....this is where you have to get mean with yourself.
