MIKE !

having said that you looked great, I have to give you my toughts of you dieting process.

You were lean but I was shocked when I read that you were 198.5 lbs.

IMO, you lost a lot of muscle in the arms and lats departement. Hopefully, you will take it all back when you will eat normally.

LLES: What do you suggest to take care of that problem ?
I don't think too much muscle was lost...

One more thing, I forgot to put in there and I should have. 100 grams of protein is worth the same "calorically" as 100 grams of carbohydrates. How the body processes them is not the same however. Cutting calories is important, but so is endocrinology.

What doesn't make sense?  And you didn't answer my question.

Of course he looks better since he created a calorie defecit, eating a 1400 calorie versus whatever number of calories he WAS eating.  How many calories was he eating at his fattest?

no I can confirm that his girlfriend is Jezebelle, I talked to Adonis and his girlfriend on the phone yesterday.

What I am getting annoyed with here, is that people seem to be assuming that all foods are processed the same in the digestive system. If they are not then I apoligize, however my point is that calories, are not all equal and if a certain body type is desired, you can't just cut calories. It is a fine science. If it was easy we would not have so many obese people. I can't imagine it is fun to be fat.

Your body burns calories to burn protein, and responds very differently to simple sugars. People seem to be thinking it is just a simple thing and it is not. Your body WILL respond differently to 400 grams of protein than to 400 grams of sugar.

The metabolic processing of each food type that one is taking in must be accounted for. Your endocrinology is not something that you can just assume will respond to what you think it will respond to. It is complicated and big changes in diet can mess it up in unpredictable ways.

If this is inadequate, I will try to be more clear, but I hope it helps convey what I am trying to say here.

Cheers.

I think what Cheri is trying to say is that you have to continually shock your body in dieting. The caloric up and downs will shock the body and metabolism. Many pro's institute this method at different levels. So in essence, she isn't necessarily wrong.

Moreover, I don't see why people can't just stop beating a dead horse sometimes. Mike did a great job and kept us all interested in his weekly progress from start to finish on his diet. He did place 3rd and his transformation was outstanding! He deserves to be commended and his critics fail to realize he is not a professional so there is no reason why he should be subjected to such. He has my respect.  :)

As for Cheri's semi-nudes, there is nothing wrong with them and I encourage her to post more  :D

P.S. Her pics are better than any True Adonis pics!

Would you believe less?  In all utmost honesty he took in less food.  He ate egg whites in the morning mixed with a little oatmeal, then drank a protein shake (and before all jump on it..protein mixed in gatorade) at lunch, had a supper that contained white rice (yup another booboo) and flank steak (a serving size that wouldn't satisify a child, truth) and then another shake later on.  Believe it or not, it is what he took in.  I have no reason to lie.  It was a pathetic diet.  He almost died when Larry told him to increase his food meals to every three hours and drop the shakes.   He really had a hard time adjusting to such in the begining because he wan't accustomed to eating as much as often.  It got to the point that just the thought of taking in another ground turkey meal made him ill.

I don't expect you to believe or follow what I'm saying Jesebelle, but it's true.  I am very proud at what Michael has accomplished and very thankful to Larry (aka LLES) for all his help.  I had never realized how big Michael was until a couple weeks ago when we started comparing pictures.  I always thought he looked good, but after following Larry's advice and diet (which was constantly going up and down with carb intake totals) and cardio input Michael dropped 70lbs of fat and looks great!

Mike said that he was drinking a gallon of gatorade a day back then, so add 800 calories of pure sugar.  Dropping that alone should make a huge difference.

The calorie deficit is the main thing for weight loss. Everything else is secondary. This is really my last post on this subject, cause debating such a basic point like this is like embarrassing :-\

Huh? Yeah Adonis, and goatboy are right on this one, CQ too.
You do eat less calories overall when dieting, less than your body needs, or the amount it needs and then you add cardio. Bodybuilders today as well as in the 50's did this, everyone pretty much stayed within 1500 cals 2 weeks leading into a contest Danny Padilla would eat 90 grams of protein and like 10 grams of fat the last 2 weeks.

My las contest diet(by the way I won):
  • Started w/Six chocolate donuts for the first month (3000 calories),then cut half a donut every week all the way to 1000 calories,a week before the show just 1 donut a day and two rice cakes for carbing up,
  • It's all about the calories.Thank you True Anus for your advice

Great job with the show Mike.  You looked great and really tan.  Who cares about the negative comments from the people on this board, they can post contest pics of themselves because they have never done one, nor can they.

Stavios, I too believe muscle loss was minimal. Those pixs you see were taking while Mike was still carbing up. Cutting his water from almost 3gallons a day to 1/2 on Fri & nothing until after pre-judging really sucked him in.

This is where I think your a total retard. I held myself back so many times, after reading your threads/posts..you are so clueless for someone that acts like hes something. If its so easy, and your a genetic Freak, and your brag about how awesome you look, why havent you competed??? Seriously, you knock on what Mike did, like its SO EASY..Well, 100% anyone that has done it will tell you ITS NOT EASY. Especially for Mike, from wher ehe came from...he cam a long, long way...and he looks waaaaaay better than YOU! Thats the KICKER!

BUt you are huge, and I forgot, you challeneged everyone to a MRgetbig contest- I guess thats more reputable, more official than what Poor Mike Arvilla did right?? man, your doin a great job with your woman becoming one of the least liked here...

Never mind man, Ill be kicking myself after posting this. I promised myself to keep my mouth shut and not get involved.

Did you guys notice why Ronnie was smiling & given the thumbs-up? Look where Adonis's other hand is heading. Or maybe he was patting Jezebel on the head telling her to hurry.

hahah you idiots. OF COURSE YOU EAT LESS when dieting for a contest.

1500-2000 caloires versus a normal intake for gaining.

No wonder why Mike got 3rd and first if you think you don`t eat less when dieting.  The object is to create a calorie defecit. hahahahahahah  Monster misunderstanding of how to diet.
you are retarded they dont do the starvation diet like they did in the late 80's.

Hardly a starvation diet.  This is what most competitors do.  2000 calories or so. Lets take a 200 lb man,  give him 250 grams of protein. 150 grams of carbs and 45 grams of fat.  What is so starvation about that?

You are being rediculous.  Go look at most peoples contest prep.
