Looks photoshoped, anyway, it doesn't matter, kissing on the cheek is an Arab tradition for respect and love, if they accidentally bumped than fine. Not only that, but who cares, GWB is gone we're talking about Obama now.

Obama BOWED DOWN, you bow down to show your allegiance and that you acknowledge someone else's power on you.....so..Obama is his bitch!

No, you bow to acknowledge respect... That's why it happens in Japan constantly.

The bow is the least important (same as the kiss)...its odd but only when viewed in the whole context.

It may be more of an issue overseas but we certainly have to keep it from being a big issue here.

In Japan, both people bow in a sign of mutual respect.

Not that it matters much, but didn't Bush kiss him on the cheek?  That pic above has him planting one right on the lips... :-X

Thats just another small example.  He's taken 2 big trips to the middle east already (while we are in an economic crisis at home),

obama taking a trip while country is in economic crisis >  bush spending billions of dollars on an illegal war while breaking the record for vacation days taken and sinking the country into an economic crisis
carpe` vaginum!

Oh, the $ wasted on the war is a f'n disgrace.  We have to stop this tit for tat between parties in this country.  If something is done well, praise it, if done poorly (or wasteful), condemn it.

Actually, no... You kiss on the lips in Muslim countries as well.

I don't think it's that big a deal... kiss... hand holding... bowing... It's all crap.

There's something else here and nobody is seeing it.  Palestinian ass kissing, muslim ass kissing, trying to look like a fellow muslim country.  This is about more than mending relations.  I really don't believe the soured Israeli/US relations... That crap is so LOL.  It comes across as so contrived it isn't funny.  The media playing it up, getting body language experts etc lol... no no, there's somthing else, another point another purpose.  I'm going to guess this is about Iran.  To really make an attack against Iran successful and prevent massive repercussions on that scale that could be possible, you would need supporting muslim nations.

This is making me sick, I voted for this.... not that it would have been different with McCain, I still believe it would have been the same shit.

Yes, because negotiation is always the way to go when dealing with murderers.

"Mr. Terrorist, if you promise not to kill those school girls today for the crime of being female and going to school, we won't bomb your house..."

Hahaha, good shit. Kind of like how AQ is crying about us violating the Geneva Conventions while they run around chopping the heads off of anyone captured after torturing them through means of gouging eyes, electrical shocks and things like amputation.

Being one of the few Getbiggers that loves all Muslims and embraces their culture, this is to be expected. There are 1 billion of these rats wonderful individuals out there and whether we like it or not, we need to be on good terms with them.

The US needs to get to the point in our relations where the majority of moderate Muslims side with the west and are willing to fight back against the extremists.

  • I am. The most interesting man in the world. (Not)
Oh really Barry.....He must of ment we kill more muslims then anybody else..thus doing everybody a favor.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/toby_harnden/blog/2009/06/03/barack_hussein_obama_us_one_of_the_largest_muslim_countries_in_the_world

UPDATE: The excellent Don Surber crunches the numbers and points out that Obama's claim is highly dubious. According to Surber, the US has an estimated three to eight million Muslims, less than one per cent of the world's total and less than at least 23 other countries.

The average claim for the US Muslim population is about six million. The precise figure is difficult to get because it's not included in US census data and many put the figure at much, much less.

But even if we assume there are six million Muslims in the US, that makes it only the 34th biggest Muslim country in the world - behind Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Nigeria, China, Ethiopia, Algeria, Morocco, Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Tanzania, Syria, Malaysia, guy, Senegal, Ghana, Tunisia, Somalia, Guinea, Kenya, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso and Tajikistan.

No, you bow to acknowledge respect... That's why it happens in Japan constantly.

In Japan both parties do it, also Saudi isn't Japan nor do Obama Japanese or the king of Saudi and when you bow before a king it have a different meaning.

Please remind me when an American such as yourself bowed (a deep bow like Obama did) to someone?

Again with your hypocrisy....damn man.....go buy a spine.

How else does one greet a ruling monarch within his or her kingdom (during a time of peace)?

The USA & Saudi Arabia are not in a state of war with each other... at least not yet anyway.

Showing allegiance and an acknowledgement of power over you is correct when done by a subject,
...however bowing to a king is also a sign of respect and adherence to established etiquette & protocol.

First people criticized Michelle Obama for not following royal protocol by touching a Queen,
...but now they criticize Barack Obama for following royal protocol by bowing to a King?

How many of those same people criticized other POTUSes for kneeling infront of, or kissing the Pope's ring during auduiences with the Pope on Vatican visits?

I bowed the last time I was in Japan...

There is nothing hypocritical about it... As I said, I don't care about Bush's stupid hand holding / kissing thing, just like I don't care about Obama bowing.

There's nothing spineless about it... You're just bitching about nothing for no reason.

Much ado about nothing. Same as always.

Oh cripes tell me about it!!!
In 2004 I was in Salt lake City Utah, and a Japanese guy accidently stepped on my foot.
He apologized and bowed, I bowed, he bowed again, I bowed... that fvcker wouldn't stop bowing!
We looked like a couple of those bloody drinking birds. Finally someone came and rescued us from the situation.

Well last time that I was at Monaco I haven't seen anyone bowing to Prince Albert.
Besides, Obama is coming as someone with an equivalent (in reality a higher) status, thus no bowing is needed.

And you people talking about Japan is downright retarded...it didn't happen in Japan...and no one that was involved was Japanese....so STFU about Japan...seriously...it have nothing to do with it.

Their status is NOT equal. One is a head of state, an elected official who has power only for 4 years ...8 max,
while the other head of state is a king, omnipotent within his realm, who holds power for life!

Of course you want to leave Japan out of it. With Japan, you can't insert and play off the Islamophobia

How surprising...judging by how you say it...I would guess that you would have bowed...sucked and turned around for him.

Do salute your king picture before you go to sleep?

If we can bring every country and their tradition into it than why can't we look at the traditions of the US, where Obama is from....a country that bowing to someone means you're his bitch.

Let me guess why you ignore that...because Allah and his chosen one Obama told you so  ::)

So Obama and American citizens acknowledge he's of a lower status that the king of SA?

In Japan it's mostly courteous with both parties doing it - there's the difference.

If I were in Saudi Arabia? ...you damned right I would have bowed. I'd probably be covered in a burka too.
I wouldn't want to be in a place like Saudi Arabia with the mentality they have without the protection of a burka.

no I wouldn't have suck and turned around. I'll leave that to guys like you who enjoy doing it so much.
