He was incredible for that time period.  I think he did some competing in bbing back in the day too.  He had the look, could sure talk but in-ring he was very mediocre at best.

Best built wrestlers IMO were:

Superstar Billy Graham
Hulk Hogan
Ivan Putski
Scott Steiner
Ultimate Warrior
Bill Goldberg
Rick Rude
Tony Atlas
Rocky Johnson
Lex Lugar

There were others that were very muscular but these IMO had the best look.

^^ Very good list.
I'd add Ventura & Snuka.
Hennig, as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, also looked good at many times throughout his career.
Billy Gunn had it - especially around the time of "special events."
Of course, HHH early on.
Jim Powers was also solid.

Yeah, I forgot about Roma.
He looked phenomenal, especially when he tagged with Herc as "Power & Glory."

If you had a bodybuilding show, Luger would win hands down.  After all, he was The Total Package.  He had great legs for a wrestler, especially a taller one.

What is even more amazing is how he maintained that condition for twenty years.  Unreal!

That's because Luger trained like a bbdr. Not just whatever body part when ever or maintenence. Lugar always looked good.

I remember seeing Heenan do an interview with him @ one of the early 90's PPV's (possibly RR) and he was training for the WBF Show. He had a red Golds top on (i think!) and he looked brick thick.

I also remember seeing Rick Martel around that time get into crazy shape coincidentally, id never seen him ripped (solid abs!) with a muscular physique before and was very impressed.

Martel was looking huge in 1990-1992. "Eat your heart out Andre Aggassi!" lol....

Jesse used this line on Warrior at WM5 too.

in fact, this would have been before Kerry's WWF run, so Heenan probably stole it from Jesse.

classic classic classic.

I remember that. It was Wrestlemania 8...I was looking for that clip the other day and couldn't find it.

I've heard that line & variations quite a few times before - including outside of wrestling.
But, yeah: it happens.

Piper's line about "Ric Flair dating two women at once so that after he falls asleep, they have someone to talk to," was a Rodney Dangerfield original.

Lawler was the worst for ripping off material.
I've seen a lot of his lines (including derivations) appear on joke sites.
The King is also an amateur magician, and I know he's used lines from other comic magicians, as well.

Dynamite had quite a solid build at one time.

At 5'8 ft he weighed over 220 pounds in good condition.

Good call.
IMO, Dyno looked his best after he & Davey jumped to All Japan.
There was one tour in particular which was the best he ever looked!

I wish I could remember some of the Bulldogs' opponents from those shows so I could look for them on Youtube.
Tom also looked very good after leaving the WWF and going back to work & book Stampede Wreslting for Stu.
IIRC, he was also working AJPW at the time, so there may have been some overlap there in the chronology.

The mention of Lawler and being a amateur magician reminded me that back in the old Mid-South, he used to throw fire-balls at opponents.  Some of you old timers might remember that.

Wow, you’re taking me back, man.
I was a professional magician for about 8 years - even worked for a magic supplies dealer back in college.
I used to sell all that stuff: http://www.theatrefx.com/store/commerce.cgi?product=handheld_devices

Some wrestlers used the guns, while others used flint devices (even just basic, disposable Bic lighters) to ignite the flash cotton or paper.

Gotta love Jim & Hogan’s Havoc match: when the camera zoomed in on Hogan fumbling, trying desperately to get the flash cotton & lighter out of the Ziploc baggie, dripping sweat & oil all over it…then, the lighter wouldn’t spark…
Finally, he must’ve thought the paper was caught - it wasn’t - and threw at Hellwig…NOTHING!
Then, he somehow did manage to ignite it, but he didn’t throw it soon enough and the bulk of it went off in his hand, while a little piece made it about half-way to Jim‘s face.

FF to about 3:35

The timing for most of that match was off, but I wondered if that literal “misfire” ruined the finish enough that they had to ad-lib a new one.
At the time, WWF was good at those things with the old man himself often shouting orders to people in the back and through headsets - even to referees who sometimes wear an earpiece - on how to cover.

WCW was clueless.

It showed...
