You fools what do you think Obama would of done if the same thing happened to him during his term. If the 9/11 attacks happend on his watch he would piss his pants. What do you think Al Gore would do? He problalby wouldn't retaliate either he would be to scared to do anything and would probably find away to make muslims feel better about themselves. What was Bush suppose to do get up and start yelling.

They would all do the exact same thing... in the end it's not the president who's pulling the strings my friend.  ;)

I'll give 10 to 1 odds that if Obama was at Arlington today, organized the most extravagant, beautiful memorial to ever have been done by any President, and during the ceremony a disturbance broke out, a shot was fired in the direction of a military members 4 yr old child, and Obama threw himself in front of the child, taking the bullet in the gut 2 things would happen;

1. Many on this board would complain about the cost of the ceremony
2. Many on this board would complain about his transparent attempt at a photo op

I'm not a fan of Obama, nor was I a fan of Bush, but what I dislike more than either of them are people of both parties that are so brainwashed they no longer are intellectually honest about either their candidate, or the other parties candidate. It's times like this, I'm truly embarrassed to be an American and 10 yrs ago I would have never said that.

Obama hates America it isn't suprising. Anyone watch Bush on Oprah or Hannity. Guy has titanium balls compared to this muslim pussy Obama. People bash Bush but how would Obama or Al Gore handle something like 9/11 we would be screwed big time.

All they would have to do is invade a country where the hijackers actually came from and they would be several degrees less retarded than that fuckwit. Still retarded, but less so.

Hmm. You mean on 9/11 when the Saudi terrorists hit New York, backed by Saudi dollars and Saudi religious fervour, and Bush went after Hussein in Iraq!? That kind of stuff?  ::)

Actually, we attacked Afghanistan after 9/11. Never was 9/11 used as a reason to go after Hussein. Remember kicking out the inspectors? Shooting at our planes? Repeated violations on UN resolutions? Resolution 1441? Come on Chimpster, your bias is coloring your views and obscuring the facts.

I remember the inspectors saying "we are making progress" and Bush coming on the news the same day saying that Hussein is leaving him no choice because he isnt cooperating... and the inspectors saying... He is now... and Bush saying, No he isnt....  I wondered at the time if Bush ever communicated with the inspectors because their statements were opposing... Been a long time ago, but I do recall wondering "What the hell?"

9/11 was the impetus 43 used to finish his Father's War. That's not debatable, politics aside.

Inspector 1: "but, but, but.....he was only non compliant for 10 yrs or so..."

Wrong my friend, the inspectors were kicked out. It was a continual cat and mouse game while they were there. Every intelligence agency believed he had WMDs. We had good reason to believe so because he had them in the past and used them. Against his own people, Iran and the Kurds. He developed a nuclear reactor in the early 1980s that Israel destroyed. And now you want us to take his word that he was clean?

Bush went in front of the UN and essentially said that if you don't act to the continued violations of the UN resolutions, the so called endless "line in the sand", then he, the US, would. The UN once again proved to be a feckless, toothless organization. All Hussein had to do was open up his country like al-Gaddafi did then there would have been no invasion.

If Hussein developed nuclear weapons and used them against Israel, as he said he would, everyone would be yelling why we didn't do anything when all the signs were there.

9/11 did play an indirect role in our invasion of Iraq in the sense that we had to get serious about threats to the US. No more lines in the sand and verbal threats. It was time to start taking action.

So what. As I said in my previous post, after 9/11 we could no longer sit back and make idle Clintonian threats. You were wrong when you said that we invaded Iraq after 9/11. We went after Afghanistan, the base of Al Queada.

"Finish his father's war." The war was to get Iraq out of Kuwait. Which we did magnificently. Bush Sr., along with our military leaders had no designs to invade Baghdad. In hindsight many believe that we should have. That we should have changed our mission midstream. After Kuwait we change directions and march right into Baghdad. Maybe. But you can be sure people like you would be yelling and screaming at our imperialist and war like designs. Using Kuwait as an "excuse" to take out Hussein and horde his oil for Halliburton so millionaire Bush and Cheney can be even more of a millionaire and live their luxurious, lavish and self-indulgent life style that you see them doing now.

There was a war to finish. But it wasn't his father's war.

Sir, one of the hallmarks of George W. Bush was that he never, ever gave a time line for war. Any war. When the question was posed to Tony Blair and Bush, Blair gave a long, laborious response. Bush stood up and simply said something like, "When we win."

Iraq is a much different and better country than it was before the invasion. People are more free, they even get to vote, girls go to school.... We will have a military presence there for a very long time just like we still have troops in Korea, Bosnia, Germany....

Although I think the reasons for initiating the 'war' were bogus, I can only believe that a world without Hussein just has to be a better one. I'm looking at you Myanmar, North Korea, Saudi, and a few of you other guys, like Syria, better step in line.

President Obama celebrated Veterans Day half a world away, saluting U.S. troops who defended South Korea during its war against the communist North.

Good point. I'll assume that he'll also be pressing the region on the issue of China unpegging it's currency. l
