Nothing you have said disputes what I posted.  I will leave it at that, because any MED student, Doctor or even A&P professor will tell you that prolonged consumption of large amounts of protein will cause inevitable kidney damage, be it by the formation of stones that leads to acute renal failure or otherwise.

Again, you're not worth debating with, because you are clearly not that smart.

I've mentioned this before but there was this program on National Geographic about this tribe in the Artic or Anartic. I forget which. They theorized that they got stranded during the migration during the ice age. Anyway, all they do do they follow the Caribou where they get everything they need to survive. Their clothes, tents, candles and food. They get virtually no, or just no, carbohydrates. Only protein and fat from Caribou meat. Assuming they consume 2,500 calories to survive and the meat is say 20% fat they would still be consuming 500 grams of protein/day.

Of course, I don't know how long their average life span is of any disease that predominate. But amino acids can be converted to glucose for energy whereas carbs/glucose cannot be converted to amino acids.

When he plans his trips he must need to ring ahead to verify he is never more than 200yrds from a toilet. His wife must lie on the hotel bed and turn up the TV in order to block out the explosive fart-echo coming from the toilet bowl as she listens to her husband empty his bowels and pray that the extraction fan is working this time..

bro, c'mon. seriously??????...... You can't possibly believe this shit. Studies you are reading aren't' meant in the real world their meant for average, conservative, timid masses and only for show. Off course if an average 145 lb collage students eats 500 grams of protein a day, their may be a problem, but we are talking about bodybuilders who have built tolerance and have gradually increase their protein intake throughout the years.. There are sumo wrestles that drink a case of beer a day for years. I know a guy who smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day and has for the last 25 years, according to studies he should have had cancer 15 years a go. studies mean nothing in the real world, stop being so gullible. 500 grams of protein a day is no big deal in fact i think he is lying and just being conservative with these figure. 600-800 is what I would've guessed

What's funny is that this same debate between asbrus and I is typical of the type of debates that I have had before with Palumbo and Collete in person.

They would always jump into the entire talk about Ketosis and it's role in diets.

I say this again and for the last time, the same theories and views that I expressed here are the views that every single doctor holds true to based on what they are taught in med school.

There actually isn't any conclusive scientific evidence that protein intake induces kidney damage in otherwise healthy kidneys.

Dude,

Next time you pass by Barnes N Nobles pick up a copy of Harrison's Internal Medicine and you will see that some of the causes for acute renal failure and also kidney stones includes large consumption of animal protein.

It's a common fact shared by most internists.

I'm telling you what the bible of internal medicine states.  The same textbook that is used by practically every MED student.

..But again, I don't really care too much either way.  If you think that proving me wrong either way makes a difference, it doesn't.

I don't consume over 100 grams of protein daily.  I honestly don't think it's necessary.

My opinion is that Cutler is not being truthful about his true intake.

RENAL FAILURE IS N0T CAUSED BY ANIMAL PR0TEIN. IT IS CAUSED BY GLYCATI0N AND GLYCATED HEM0GL0BINS WHICH RESULT IN HIGH BL00D SUGAR AND GLUC0SE LEVELS. CHECK THE BIBLE AGAIN. Y0U'RE MISINF0RMED.

Modification of low density lipoprotein by advanced glycation end products contributes to the dyslipidemia of diabetes and renal insufficiency

CUTLER EASILY TAKES IN 500 GRAMS 0F PR0TEIN A DAY. WHEN Y0U ARE THAT BIG 300 LBS 0F MUSCLE MASS AND ARE TAKING THAT MANY DRUGS, Y0UR B0DY CAN ABS0RB THE PR0TEIN.

 Is it worth it?

To eat like a fucking pig and inject chemicals constantly.

 Just for the muscles?

 I don't think so.

Some people are just obsessed and wrecklessly dive into it head first though.

That's how I see it too.

There's nothing wrong with using some gear and eating a healthy high-protien diet. But the force feeding and the megadosing is some fucked up shit.

Michael Phelps eat 10,000 calories per day, but he's burning up those cals. These bodybuilders just eat like that and sit around getting bloated.

One more - the studies you posted were conducted on people with ailing kidneys and lab rats. Also, notice that their conclusions contain the words "may" and "could" cause... There is no definitive proof it causes kidney failure.

I do agree though that it is most certainly not necessary to eat that much protein, especially if not a major drug abuser.
