The built-in Bosch speed oven is on the fritz. The door hinge broke. It will hopefully be fixed this afternoon. I'm surprised how much we depend on it. Last Saturday, I ordered a small microwave from Amazon which was delivered yesterday. As soon as I unboxed it and plugged it in my family started using it. It is interesting how easily we become dependent on equipment people got by without for centuries.

Last night I microwaved a casserole I make using 1 lb. lean ground sirloin cooked until all the pink is gone, one sweet onion chopped and sauteed until translucent, 1 can fire roasted tomatoes, 1 can pinto beans, 1 small can Ortega green chilies, 1 small can chopped black olives, 8oz or more water or beef stock, and one package of Zatarains Spanish rice. All of which is cooked in a large skillet until the rice is done (about 25 minutes). Makes about 5 good-sized servings. I freeze most of it. When I want something easy to fix for dinner, I'll put a container of it in the microwave for about 5 minutes and it is ready to eat. Sometimes I jazz it up with grated cheese, sour cream, and/or guacamole before serving.   

That sounds great Jay....I`m gonna` try it soon.

{TRAINED IN A FASTED STATE ON 3 CUPS OF COFFEE AND BEET POWDER IN WATER}

Meal # 2:
shake made with 2 whole eggs,2 Tbsp. of natty PB,1 banana,8 oz.milk,5 oz. water,1 scoop of whey

Meal # 3:
ham + cheese sub with sliced tomato, onion, and lettuce with a dab of mayo
1 banana
Diet-Coke

Meal # 4:
1/2 pound ground turkey burger
cottage cheese

I was gonna` make some chicken breasts with rice but it was too hot to cook and the heat and humidity was killing my appetite......I was lucky I could even drink the shake....the humidity here is oppressive

Thanks GR....I actually feel awesome.

Took off a total of 5 years and did jackshit,except eat junk food almost exclusively......I forgot how good it felt to be in shape..................I`ll never stop training again.

I bought 8 +1/2 dozen eggs last week from a friends brother who raises chickens for a whopping total of only 5 dollars ....tried to pay more but he insisted that the 5 dollars was sufficient.....I felt like I robbed the guy.

I use it instead of sugar.

Has an odd taste by itself but I don't notice it in food.

Took me a while to adjust to stevia. Initially it felt like it just wasn't very strong and wascweird tasting, but I found it gets better if you stick with it and restrict all other sweeteners and sugar. It's decent now.
