So when the discussion was about bar/street fights, that was "clearly a one on one scenario"?
Either you stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, or you've "watched every UFC since #1".
Like I said....MMA bro-advice, worth exactly what we all just paid for it.
Not every street fight is a huge brawl, neither is every bar fight pal. Big ass brawls are just chaos and not too much skill is required there.
The thread title's "Why MMA Could Get You Killed", some form of combat training is better than nothing and people who train in striking and grappling have an advantage period, end of story. To think someone who trains needs internet tough guys advice is dumb, as if they can't judge when to use what skills and when there are "50 drunks" as opposed to just one drunk.
This is just "bro advice" that people with no fighting skills like to give out, since they have no skills but might have big useless muscles to defend their case... or in the begining of the thread, someoen who wastes their time training a martial art with no real sparring or simulation and is just repeating what their sensei tells them, striking + grappling training beats no training, big muscles, or just karate
I don't watch it feller, I do it and live it. I like boxing just as much as the next guy, but a bare knuckle brawl can be a gamble.
It's pretty simple, no one has to listen to me.
Take the advice of proven mma/martial arts pioneers in the mean streets of Brazil, the Gracies, or bb board tough guys who have no level of skill grappling or even striking but feel it's cooler to say just "throw a punch and knock him out" with their unparalleled power and accuracy

btw BJJ was designed for the streets not modern day sport mma.
