i use my hands
well you probably have hands like a bear Woo.. .. i use straps for Db rows, it looks like it could be useful for back training as you wrote Montague.
I have small hands...ring size 9...lol
How big is your wrist? Not sure what size my ring finger is, my wife bought me the biggest size they make and it fits my pinkie finger. I quit using straps years ago, only time now is when we do our gym comps and have a deadlift for reps.
My wrist is just 7" so not very big. In fact i have had women comment about my hands...positive too. They like my little soft hands gliding over their bodies...
mine are calloused to hell
no wonder Wooo swinging that sledge all the time..lol
i think the primary causes of my callousing are battling ropes and my climbing rope (i don't climb it, no where to hang it at home) that i use to haul a 50lb bag about 50ft up in the hallway stairwell (live in a condo building)the rope is thick and heavy too, anyway it causes minor rope burns all the time, especially when i lower the weight back downmy thought process though is that this is what our hands evolved to do...
What kinds of comments does this elicit from your neighbors?
of course the neighbors may still give me funny looks when they catch me pushing my minivan in the parking garage...
meh i'm a good neighbour... i smile and say hi when they catch me doing walking dumbbell lunges with a weight vest on in the hallways at midnight...
anyway back on track here... i think i will include some pinch grips in my Friday workout and see if i can improve my forearm/grip strength. pinch grips i never see being used by anyone in the gym.. "pinch gripping" a smooth plate and holding it for as long as possible.
i do them religiously 1-2 times per week to failuregreat stuff
you know Wooo you would be a great workout partner..
maybe... used to train with a buddy years ago... i prefer training solo now, just be and the iron
