I probably shouldn't knock them without actually trying them. Maybe they're great, and very effective for aesthetic development.

Perhaps they would be useful when trying to teach a novice trainee how to "lead with the elbows" and what muscles they should feel contracting during certain rowing movements.

They look like they could be useful in helping one train around a hand injury.

If anyone decides to buy and try these, let me know if you get beat up when you take them with you on the floor at your gym.

i didn't use straps for years as a kid (discouraged for powerlifters and football players alike) but started using them a few years ago... since ditching them about 2 years ago i see a significant difference in my grip strength and forearm development...

i still use them occasionally, but only if i feel that my grip will fail on a set of shrugs or deadlifts and even then it would only be on the final set

and my ring finger is a 13.5 at 5'11"... and i'm not a lardass

my fingers have gotten slightly thicker over the years though

How big is your wrist?

Not sure what size my ring finger is, my wife bought me the biggest size they make and it fits my pinkie finger.  :P
I quit using straps years ago, only time now is when we do our gym comps and have a deadlift for reps.

i think the primary causes of my callousing are battling ropes and my climbing rope (i don't climb it, no where to hang it at home) that i use to haul a 50lb bag about 50ft up in the hallway stairwell (live in a condo building)

the rope is thick and heavy too, anyway it causes minor rope burns all the time, especially when i lower the weight back down

my thought process though is that this is what our hands evolved to do...

they've never seen the stairs dude... they take the elevator...

anyway we just bought a 3 story townhouse with an open stairwell... moving in december

at that point won't need to worry about it

of course the neighbors may still give me funny looks when they catch me pushing my minivan in the parking garage...

With the price gasoline will be by then, I'm sure they won't give it a second thought.

anyway back on track here... i think i will include some pinch grips in my Friday workout and see if i can improve my forearm/grip strength. pinch grips i never see being used by anyone in the gym.. "pinch gripping" a smooth plate and holding it for as long as possible.
