You can digest a shitload of protein in a single feeding. Utilizing is another matter.
Reaching maximum protein synthetic rate from protein doesn't require much, however anything over this amount works anti-catabolically, so you can't easily put good figures on single feedings. It depends.
Van, i feel that the efects of any more protein than is consumed in a normal diet is over exagerrated, and its understandable that supplement companies would do so. I think what helps fuel this 'myth' is the psychological satisfaction one gets from A: post workout protein which makes u feel like ure 'maximising your gains' and B: the feeling that more is better.

These days i dont give a fuck about 'maximizing my gains', so my protein intake is i would guess less than 80g a day.

My question to you: what is a good range of optimal protein intake? How optimal is it, and in what sense? Wil i gain 2 lbs of muscle instead of 2.1 lbs of muscle in a year if i dont overconsume protein?   ???

I know that it is food. i is just easier right after training to have a shake tat to bring food with you.. I agree with you that you need protein it was just a little bit upset that people always here talk so much shit about protein powders ans supplements are fake.. i use whey shake, multivitamin, vitamin c and vitamin d and they work for me. but also a lot i have tried didny work at all.all tis testo booster i havent fell a daam thing,,he he.

i am sure some powders are shit i like on whey also muscletec ,but here in norway the cost alot..

Train Hard like in the Old days and you won t be able to eat within 20=30min After workout

At least After legs and back workout i Would Throw up

So you See, enough Time to get real food

If you are competitive time and Logistik Dosen t count anyway

I don't follow my own advices, so I don't know if I should comment. :D I eat between 20-120 grams, depending on appetite. However I look like absolute shit - I know I'm eating too little most days. I'm stronger than ever but the body looks crappy, flabby.

Protein requirement depends on overall calorie intake and overall carb intake which is protein sparing, etc. Steroid intake may reduce requirement (due to recycling of aminos) or increase it because of amount of new muscle protein synthesized.

I know 20 grams is too little (the amount Vince Basile thinks is required LOL).

I would go with what Lyle McDonald or Alan Aragon recommended and then go from there. I think Lyle said 1.5 grams/lb for strength athlete. May be too much but it probably doesn't hurt.

if your spending shitlaods of money on gear and a gym membership and al that protein powder is too risky IMO....imagine if theres really nothing in that stuff? fuck it....whole eggs and red meat are cheap as hell. i make pancakes every morning...

6 whole eggs
2 whole bananas
1 cup flour
1 cup milk

drench them in organic honey
EXACTLY HOW I FEEL

definitely a bit paranoid tho, i mean if you leave a used protein shaker in ur gymbag overnight, the smell of rotting eggs in the morning suggests something else than sugar water no?

quality however.....is not guaranteed even if there's protein

only good thing about it seems convenience, i'd like to use a quality meal replacement shake like MHP

but i donno cant really trust?

i'm curious if you would drink liquid egg whites? they have no taste to them. Do you trust pasteurized egg whites?

I know some good natural powerlifters and they don't reach those numbers yet do very well in competition. Powerlifting is mostly attitude. Train as hard as you can and your appetite will tell you what's needed.

Im sick of reading about assholes throwing up while they are training, theres no need for it at all.
I have thrown up once in 28 years of training and thats because of too much beer the night before.

Waiting for "you don't train hard enough", its just bollocks.

I've been drinking it quite a bit lately and its now giving me a killer stomach ache. I used to drink egg whites and never had this problem but that was on the expensive side.

Is protein powder even needed post workout if i just have a big meal?

Cook some meals for yourself and stop being so fucking lazy.

yeah it doesnt really matter anyway if you have breakfast at 5:30 that you dont eat untill 12:00 at noon as long as you eat that food at the end of the day no difference
