I have been silent while watching his downward spiral on here.  It seemed like every single time he broke news on here I was thinking "Ok, this is his rock bottom, he will get it together now".  

Hate to hear this news.  I tried many times to help him out in the past when he needed favors and trying to get him set up with some other companies as their rep for some easy $$$ every month, but nothing ever seemed to work out at all for him.  I just wrote him off as a flake after a while and forgot about him mostly.

Hope he can get it together from this point out.

But to be fair, I wouldn't listen to anyone either when I was using. It's sad that just now it's impacting him... and I'm sure the full scope of what happened wont hit him for a while.

You definitely brought this on yourself. I only hope you move forward in a safe and positive manner.

My uncle has had HIV for over 35 years. He's as healthy as can be and takes his cocktail everyday. I would have thought he would have acquired AIDS years ago, but so far he's been very blessed. Diet, exercise and a strong attitude will get you through.

I genuinely doubt he wants and needs it from GB. He is used to this place being harsh and deliberately brutal. There is massive support and infrastructure for hiv positive people. He is probably not lying when he says he couldn't be happier: he will be on meds that give him a normal life expectancy, he will be given financial assistance for the rest of his life. He will probably not have to worry bout safe sex now - although OMR said there is the possibility of super strains.

People seek social support from the strangest of places. I cannot begin to imagine that some of the jokes people are making are NOT getting to him.

I do not know much about HIV, but many people do lead a normal life span. However, I am sure there are those rare cases where youre dead pretty quickly.

I would say almost every person who contracted hiv in the early 80's died from aids.

They simply did not know how to treat it.
