I haven't heard from fitchic lately, anybody know if she is around?

Oh and gb-I don't do wide grips on anything anymore because of my high tie-ins, I try to keep a medium to narrow grip for all my back exercises in hopes that my lower back will widen out.

Yo Jen! I am here. Been X-mely BZ with work and schoo, exams and stuff...
Anyway, have to tune in on this subject since back training is my favorite after legs...My routine is very similar to yours girlfriend with some slight differences:

1. WG Lat pulldowns (front). I do ascending rep drop sets with this one (4 total). I sometimes do pullups to mix it up.
2. T-Bar or Bent Over BB Row (mixing straight and reverse) (3 sets)
3. Reverse Lat pulldowns
4. Single arm DB Rows (3 sets) mixing with seated cable rows
5. Reverse flys

I also do 4 sets of deadlifts on my leg day to hit hams which follows the next day on Tuesday after I do back on Monday.

Extension is something extra and if I am not too exhausted by the time I am done, I may do a couple fo sets of those to stretch the muscles....

Wow, you boys really get excited about the Nautilus machine...only bber's ::)

Block, I may be able to make it over there rarely but with gas at over $3 a gallon I don't know if I can afford it!  Right now I am still trying to see if I can make it to the New York show, with the host hotel costing like $200 a night and having to stay there 3 nights I may have to sleep in the lobby if I want to compete!

My back is still a little sore, I'm really glad you told me about those Pull-Ups they obviously did something I wasn't use to.  I know I should slap on some color, especially because I am using a new product this year but the thought of tanning myself for no good reason is not appealing at all!   The whole process is just so smelly and messy.

Fitchic-good to hear from you.  Hopefully your classes are going well, they must almost be finished?  Well good luck if you do have finals coming up.  Your back workout is definitely longer then mine...I do reverse flys on shoulder day but even still you do a lot of exercises!  You've never posted any pics, have you?

I probably won't take pics for another week or so, the last ones up there are from last Saturday so pretty recent.  Got my bodyfat tested yesterday morning by the guy I almost always go to...9% so I was happy with that.  I just think my problem will be maintaining as opposed to getting too lean.  It's hard to say though, I was looking at pics last night from the Olympia and it is crazy how small all those girls waists look.  I hope my suits will flatter my figure...keeping my fingers crossed.

3 WEEKS OUT...YEA

Only 2.5 weeks left...yea!

Ok, a question that I am guessing relates solely to genetics but someone may hav an idea.  My back does not have the pretty V (on the upper portion) that many girls have...is there any way to help accentuate the V?  Doubtful but I really want one:)

Here is an example of what I am talking about compared to my back

you do you have it, you just need to lose water, and it'll show with a tan.

I concur w/ my guy BAST...

It is just genetic as far as the one above had a more V and you have a little more curve in your upper-lats...which is fine. You have the same detail...you just need to lose the water and the color will accuentuate it even more...you'll lose the water though...holla!

It will show to a greater degree when show ready, but to really get that *identical* look you just need more muscular development.

You don't like my advanced terminology? ;D  Thanks for the responses-I didn't even think about the water aspect though even when I lose the water I probably won't like the shape of that muscle.  Oh well, I don't think there is much I can do about it other then complain-which these days seems to be getting more frequent.

Thanks Phil for the added encouragement, I hope what you say is true...Jr's will be tough and I need all the size I can get.

When do you that pose it looks as though you're a bit hunched over. Try to pull back your scapula, and inhale deeply when you do the pose.

Pulling back the scapula will cause your upper-back muscles (rear delts, infraspinatus, traps) to contract, giving you a more defined look in that area.

Inhaling deeply will cause your ribcage to rise, which in turn will give you a more statuesque appearance.

Unfortunately, clavicle shape is genetic. Not to worry, Arnold had sloping shoulders and things worked out pretty well for him.

Good luck.

Thank You!  This is exactly what I needed.  It's like when I look at these pictures I know something is wrong but I don't know how to correct it and unfortunately I don't have anyone with a ton of experience correcting these little things.

Really, I appreciate this because every bit helps and I know I will need every little bit on stage.

Once I get my new suits to try on I will post some more pics that are hopefully improved.

Glad I could help. Are you doing the fitness nationals in NYC on July, 15? I live in Manhattan and will be going to that show. I know Jodi is competing.

Here's Dina doing the same pose. Notice her elbows are in closer than yours.

I think they should just do a rear lat spread instead of throwing those elbows way out there, then maybe a rear double bi.....ahhh yeah.

IMO her smile is one of her best assets. It radiates warmth. Your thigh sweep looks great too in this shot.

Thanks again:)  When (and if) I gt my suits before my show I would love for you to critique my poses and give me any feedback.  I have been working on keeping my arms in and shoulders back in my back pose but it is hard to know if I am getting the desired look or if I am cocking my shoulder blades back...I need someone to take some pics.

Don't know how everyone else is doing but it has been a rough couple of days.  I've just been so agitated and moody (more so then usual getbigger, I know what you will say).  Actually gb, you were in a "great" mood last time I heard from you-things better now?...did you plant all those trees?

I don't think I ever resented my ex for the food he ate...but I hated it last year when he would buy some for me, just in case.  We got into major fights about him not respecting my choices (I am sure escalated by the cutting) but this year was much different after he understood I didn't want a frosty or blizzard.  I don't mind cooking food that I can't eat or being around it, I am not really tempted.  Last week was difficult and getbigger hit the nail on the head about the time of the month (which is crap since I am so lean I shouldn't be getting it anymore...) but for the most part if I do start to struggle I try and make something up that I think will be really good.  For the record I haven't discovered anything that worthwhile though I have found a few "interesting" combos.

I do agree that you should try and be with someone who understands your lifestyle and if that is another competitor then so be it.  The problem I see with competitors who date is they get at each others throats because of the dieting and it is hard for them to let things go.  One partner will "critique" the other, or tell them they are doing something wrong, or tell them what shows to do and how to train and diet and so on.  It seems like it causes more tension because one partner is telling the other what to do and they can't take it constructively.

For me, now that I am single I don't have to worry about what my boyfriend in thinking and if I am not paying enoguh attention to our relationship.  It is sad because he was a great person and friend but right now it was not the right situation for us.

Maybe I am selfish or too into my own things like nomeatheadz says, but I think at this stage in my life I should be.  It seems like if I don't do the things I want to do now and accomplish the things that I think are important I will never be happy.  Maybe my ex wasn't the right person or maybe it wasn't the right time but for me it isn't about what the other person does but how much we respect each other and how well we work together.
