Are you feeling down because you didn't train or because your nose is swollen and uncomfortable? Are you remembering to put those frozen peas on your nose to reduce the swelling?

I really need to get back to the gym. Every little thing I do lately, makes me ache, especially my legs. I raked leaves, pulled out dead annuals and cut back perennials the other day and had sore hamstrings for two days. Then I decorated the house and trimmed the Christmas tree for a holiday potluck we hosted yesterday, climbing up and down a ladder all day Tuesday. Now my calves, quads and feet were really sore. I can only guess that this is because I have taken such a long holiday from hitting the weights. The other option is that I am just becoming a old man (which is true, but this is not how I imagined it). I don't mind looking old, but I want to still feel like I did as a young guy.  :'(
Probably both, but more so because my nose is swollen and uncomfortable.  Yes I have been putting frozen peas on my nose multiple times during the day however it's not making a difference.
PM walking up and down a ladder all day is going to work the calves and quads/glutes big time.  You'll get back into training once christmas is over with.   :)

The gyms will be packed after new year and we will be frustrated by having to fight for equipment and room.  My surgeon isn't back here until March.  I was going to call the surgeon today but instead decided to keep icing my nose with frozen peas.  Nice day it was...

Good, because there is nothing worst than having a flat sagging ass, IMO!

QFT.   ;D  At least we can stave off the gravity process via resistant weight training.

My nose is still swollen and looks the same, but I think the bridge feels a little better and there is less popping in my ears when I swallow.  I have been a little emotional and sensitive the past day or so and then I realised I am getting my monthlys.  I usually don't get pms every month but this time I have it.  I increased my vitamin B.  Something you guys are lucky you don't have to cope with.  I hate it when my hormones are all over the place.

Chest and delts.

Incline db presses x 4 sets
Incline db flyes x 4 sets
db shoulder presses x 4 sets
db lateral raises x 4 sets

I will train bis and tris together next time, probably with abs and calves.

nice and i like how you split up your Delts(rear delts with Back). I also think 4 sets per ex is a good amount of work. Today i will jump some rope at home here and will do a few sets of these....

Thanks Donny.  I like those abs exercises...they're really good.  How long will you do jump rope?

I will do some Tabata training and i use a timer of you tube... set it and go...20 secs and 10 secs rest. I will do 2-3 circuits. I sometimes throw these crunches in there too for 20 secs. each circuit is only 4 mins but fairly fast. sometimes i will do 20 mins total and also do a 2-1 ratio.

20 mins is a good circuit.

20 mins is enough for me and i am average at jumping rope. I just jump with both feet or sometimes in a marking time marching motion 1 foot at a time. Tabata circuits are harder than you think if you go for it. 3 circuits one after another you are working... ;D At least the streets are a bit clearer now for running and it was warmer outside last night.

Being warmer in temperature is going to help your workouts for sure.  When it's cold it takes longer for your body to warm up also.

Medical science is only just discovering how important hormones are to our health. I suspect mine are off since stopping the testosterone cypionate injections last year when the doctor first diagnosed my prostate cancer. I also suspect this has had much to do with my lack of ambition to workout and general feelings of malaise lately. Interestingly, I mentioned this to him yesterday during my 6 month checkup. As a result, when next I do lab work in three months my testosterone levels will be checked. Since the cancer is gone, I may go back on the shots without risk to my health. In the meantime, I will need to boost my testosterone levels via exercise and diet.

nice bit of intensity in there.. do you find doing Tricep pressdowns better first to warm up before Tri Ext machine? press downs with bar and rope yes i like the diffrent hand positions..the rope hitting the lateral head. very well planned Karen. do you ever use a supinated(underhand grip) on the bar too, the Medial head being hit well. I always liked the underhand grip with one arm at a time. I used pushdowns more as a finishing off movement.

You are halfway to where my wife and I are. We celebrated 48 years of marriage last October. Trust me, it only gets better and better.

Good idea. I woke up to snow and rain mix. Fortunately, it is not sticking. Our daughter is flying home to El Paso, TX today. She is afraid of flying and so any inclement weather makes her nervous. Tomorrow, things should start getting back to normal around here so maybe I'll make it to the gym.

Lifted for back and chest today. I was shot but I wanted to do a little cardio so I fast walked 5 miles.

I thought I would be back before the sun went down but I really was off. The trail in the woods was pitch black and then it started to rain. I couldn't see two feet in front of me. After stumbling around in the dark for what seemed like forever my wife asked when I got home, "how was your walk?"

That's funny...getting lost in the woods.   ;D  I wouldn't like it, I would be spooked.

Hormones are extremely important for optimum health.  I think they rule us to a certain extent.

I just tried to mix it up Donny.  Personally I don't really like machines but I wanted some variety that day.  My favourite tricep exercise is pressdowns with the V bar.  I like the way it hits my tris.  I don't like using the straight bar as it irritates my wrists.  V bar seems to feel perfect for my body.

Congrats to everyone who have recently celebrated wedding anniversaries.  I wish I was as lucky to be with someone for as long as you guys.  Instead my partner passed away this month, going on 13 years.
